The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Preparing to Escape

Feng Qing screamed and woke up with a start. The sky was slightly bright, and Si Qi, who was on night watch outside, hurriedly came in, concernedly asking, ”Princess Consort, what happened? Did you have a nightmare?”

Feng Qing nodded slightly, ”Yes, I had a nightmare. By the way, did I talk in my sleep?”

Si Qi, unconcerned, replied, ”You did. I listened carefully; you mentioned the Prince and said something about poison, but it was quite vague.”

Si Qi was unconcerned, but Feng Qing broke out in a cold sweat.

No, she couldn’t stay at the Regent Prince Mansion; she must leave.

Honestly, Feng Qing had some confidence in her own abilities. As long as she could leave the Prince Mansion, there was no way Rong Ling could catch her.

If she waited a long time, the Prince would lose interest, and she would be capable of moving freely.

Feng Qing pondered over it and felt that leaving the Regent Prince Mansion was the best option. The deadline set by Rong Ling was like a treasure sword hanging over her head.

The Little Emperor, even if wanting to eliminate Rong Ling, wouldn’t be in such a hurry to poison him.

Not to mention the deadline set by Rong Ling, even Feng Yao in the palace deeply resented her, although it wasn’t Feng Yao’s mother whom she had demoted to a lowly concubine.

But like a woman such as Feng Yao, she would definitely blame her.

Currently, she was the Empress, and Feng Qing was the Princess Consort. Most importantly, she had nothing to rely on, whereas Feng Yao had the support of the Feng Family and the Emperor. So facing off against Feng Yao was clearly a disadvantage for her.

With Rong Ling in front and Feng Yao behind, Feng Qing felt that leaving was the only sensible choice. Once she set her mind on it, her spirit settled, and she felt much more energized.

”I’m thirsty, pour me a cup of water.”

Si Qi immediately went to pour water, while Feng Qing leaned on her bed, thinking about how to leave the Regent Prince Mansion. She was caught by Rong Ling on her previous escape attempt, so under no circumstances could she be caught this time, and she couldn’t choose to escape at night.

The guards in the Regent Prince Mansion were noticeably skilled, and there was someone on guard twenty-four hours a day. Leaving at night would make her too conspicuous.

Feng Qing decided to leave during the day this time and figure out other options once she got out of the Prince Mansion.

What should she take with her? She could take the silver notes worth five thousand taels with her, and she also needed to take a few medical books. However, she couldn’t take the paintings and jewelry. Initially, she had four sets of jewelry, but when concubines came to serve tea, she broke up one set and distributed it.

Now she had three sets remaining, but if she left during the day, those antique paintings and jewelry couldn’t be taken with her at all.

Thinking about not being able to take these things with her made Feng Qing heartbroken. She desperately needed money right now, but there was no way to take them with her. It was so frustrating.

However, compared to her life, these things weren’t as important. At least she had silver notes worth five thousand taels, which she could use temporarily.

As Feng Qing was planning, Si Qi brought in the water. After drinking, Feng Qing was about to get up when Caiyun came in to report, ”Princess Consort, Consort Jiang, Consort Song, Aunt Tong, and Aunt Shu are here to pay their respects.”

Feng Qing glanced outside; the sky wasn’t fully bright yet. Did this mean she would have to wake up this early every day from now on? No, no, she loved sleeping the most, so it was better to leave.

The greetings from the concubines once again solidified Feng Qing’s determination to leave, but she didn’t want to see those consorts and concubines right now.

”Go tell them to return. No need to come and pay respects in the future.”
