Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Two footsteps echoed through the bright corridor.

”Here is the Dominator’s secret stash, and unless the Dominator comes in person, no one can enter.”

”This is the supreme court, where the Dominator keeps some of the less important collections.”

”Can I go in and take a look?”

”I’m afraid not.”

Wen Yu shrugged indifferently.

”This is the Evil Grotto Heavens, a place dedicated to training backup Treasure Land Protectors.”

”Here...”

Golden Armor introduced along the way, but Wen Yu silently memorized the layout of the Hall of Eternity, only to soon realize it was in vain.

The Hall of Eternity seemed to exist outside of the dimensions Wen Yu was familiar with; up, down, left, and right became empty terms with no meaning or directional value here.

Seeing this, Golden Armor could only shrug, adopting an expression of helplessness.

Seeing this scene, Wen Yu decisively dropped his little schemes.

The two walked briskly, and in no time, they had crossed an unknown distance. The scenery before Wen Yu’s eyes continuously changed until Golden Armor stopped and said, ”Here we are,” making Wen Yu realize he was standing before a large door.

”Dominion’s Great Palace, the Dominator’s court, study room, meeting hall, even bedroom.”

”Currently, the Dominator is inside, please go ahead.”

Golden Armor gestured for Wen Yu to proceed, but at this moment, Wen Yu hesitated.

To say he was fearless would be deceptive; wherever there are emotions, there is reverence. Facing the irresistible force of the Dominator, Wen Yu couldn’t help but feel tense.

Until Golden Armor mouthed ”Good luck,” Wen Yu took a deep breath, smiled slightly at Golden Armor, pushed open the door, and stepped into the Dominion’s Great Palace.

”Bang.”

The door closed.

...

As if standing in an endless starry sky, brilliant light fell from above, illuminating everything in the Dominion’s Great Palace.

The surrounding decorations were simply ignored by Wen Yu; he just focused on the front.

A figure emitting a misty white glow sat high on the throne, overlooking Wen Yu. Before him, Tang Haofei lay flat on the ground, seemingly in slumber for countless years.

The two who were awake remained silent for a moment; Wen Yu was the first to bow his head.

He spoke four words softly and respectfully.

”Greetings, my lord.”

Bowing low, he seemed to offer his endless loyalty, but the recipient of this reverence remained silent.

After a moment, a gentle voice finally sounded.

”Rise...”

With that, Wen Yu lifted his head and looked at the Dominator once more.

Only to see the white light continuously dispersing from the Dominator’s body, then reassembling, and after a moment, a gray-haired old man, clad in a white robe and leaning on a cane, replaced the original indistinct mass of light.

Seeing this, Wen Yu felt his heart lighten instantly.

”This appearance, hmm, you’ve seen it before, right?”

”Yes, during the battle between the two realms, this is how you appeared.”

”So, still easy on the eyes?”

”Naturally easy on the eyes.”

”I thought so too; using this appearance might ease your nervousness.”

The Dominator’s voice was ethereal yet gentle, like a kindly elder, constantly easing Wen Yu’s mental stress. And indeed, after this brief exchange, Wen Yu’s anxiety significantly lessened.

Thus, the Dominator slowly rose with his cane, walked leisurely to Wen Yu’s side, first looking at Wen Yu and then at Tang Haofei lying on the ground, finally sighing deeply.

”While I was away these decades... you certainly accomplished some incredible feats.”

As for what those feats were, Wen Yu naturally knew in his heart.

He could only offer a wry smile.

”Fighting for survival, involuntarily.”

”Indeed, understandable, I don’t blame you.”

The Dominator nodded, then waved his hand, conjuring two chairs. The Dominator sat first, then gestured for Wen Yu to sit.

After a brief hesitation, Wen Yu complied with the Dominator’s command, and also sat down on the chair.

”Regarding the matter of rebirth, I don’t blame you...”

The Dominator’s first words hit the core of the issue.

...

”Your lordship sees clearly.”

Wen Yu could only offer a word of praise—in the presence of the Dominator, asserting one’s individuality with a defiant stance... that would really mean Wen Yu was tired of living...

At this moment, he could only comply with the Dominator’s wishes, submit to His decisions, and face the judgment He brought.

”Do you know where I’ve been these decades?”

The Dominator shifted topics suddenly.

Wen Yu pondered briefly, then shook his head.

”I do not know, my lord.”

Yet deep inside, Wen Yu already knew the answer to the question—He went to the Demon Realm.

Before departure, Lin Haifeng had combined the Dominator’s departure with the changes in the Demon Realm, providing Wen Yu with the best guess regarding this matter.

”I went to the Demon Realm to extend its life, also met deeply with my old friend—your benefactor... well, not quite right, let’s call him your benefactor... the Demon Lord.”

Wen Yu remained silent, merely waiting for the Dominator’s speech.

The Dominator continued.

”He told me your rebirth was indeed his doing, well, actually you knew, my subordinates have already investigated this matter, so the Demon Lord’s response wasn’t crucial.”

”However, theoretically speaking, it’s indeed not right to blame you; you were merely a lucky... or unlucky person who dealt with me. You understand, I am very reasonable.”

Wen Yu nodded, acknowledging the Dominator’s ”character.”

”Therefore, I will not lay the Demon Lord’s mistakes on you or make you bear all the consequences of this matter.”

The Dominator decisively set the tone on this matter, and upon hearing it, Wen Yu breathed a long sigh, ”whether genuinely or falsely.”

”Thank you for your grace, my lord.”

This was all he could say.

”But now a new question arises, although rebirth is not your fault, it can’t be denied you’re a beneficiary. Therefore, here, I’d like you to carefully consider your own position.”

”Do you consider yourself on the Demon Lord’s side or on my side?”

The Dominator finished speaking, his eyes fixed on Wen Yu, seemingly wanting to see into Wen Yu’s soul.

And Wen Yu, equally alert—this would be the decisive answer concerning his fate today!

Silence, unknown how long passed...

Finally, Wen Yu looked up, gazing at the Dominator, softly responding.

”I am of the Human Race, I stand on Earth’s side.”

Though the tone was light, the gaze was clear and the belief firm.

”Very good!”

The Dominator nodded, approving Wen Yu’s answer.
