Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”So, can you foresee how dull and terrifying your life will be from now on?”

Number 2 showed no expression, but his tone clearly revealed a sense of joy. He stared at Wen Yu and spoke with a smile.

”I said that the day the Dominator returns will be your death day. Now, I concede, your death day will be very long... very long... so long that Earth will be destroyed and it will never end!”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu remained silent for a moment before he finally smiled.

”If I guess correctly, you would say that if I agree to certain things, you’ll help me out and give me a quick end, right?”

”No, no, no...”

Number 2 laughed, shaking his head, leaning against the back of his chair, and transmitted his thoughts to Wen Yu through spiritual fluctuations.

”You know, ever since the origin of the Earth’s nucleus thirty-five years ago, the moment we declared war, our conflict became irreconcilable. This time, even if you kneeled and begged me, I wouldn’t help you one bit. On the contrary, I will use all my strength to convince the Dominator to trap you in this Contemplation Chamber.”

”I look forward to seeing you driven mad, going crazy, so from now on, enjoy your grave!”

After saying this, Number 2 immediately got up to leave, but the sudden spiritual fluctuation from behind interrupted his movement.

”So, are you just a carbon copy of the Demon Spirit?”

Facing this rhetorical question, Number 2 didn’t even turn his head. He just nodded and continued to leave.

”Actually, all along, I thought your existence was a high wall I couldn’t overcome. It’s funny, at some point, I even considered you as a great enemy equal to the Dominator and the Demon Lord, but today, it seems I was wrong.”

Hearing this argument, Number 2 finally turned around, looking at Wen Yu, as if arguing for himself.

”You will never understand our greatness.”

”Oh, oh, oh, being splashed with dung is hardly greatness. And honestly, the way you showed schadenfreude just now was really low.”

Wen Yu pouted, showing his contempt for this carbon copy of the Demon Spirit.

”You know nothing!”

Number 2, listening to Wen Yu’s goading, no longer hurried to leave. Instead, he returned to his seat, staring at Wen Yu and spoke word by word.

”I alone possess an independent personality, memory, and worldview. Maybe my performance alone makes you disdainful, and I admit, as a carbon copy, I indeed have some degree of defect. But let me be honest, you don’t know what you’re truly facing.”

”Our existence is the true eternity! The true greatness!”

”So do you know what I’m about to face?”

Wen Yu suddenly leaned forward, approaching Number 2, tightly stared into his eyes, then smiled and returned to his seat.

”What you’ll face is eternal imprisonment!”

Facing Wen Yu’s rudeness, Number 2 spoke angrily, but surprisingly, Wen Yu shook his head again.

”So, compared to the Dominator and the Demon Lord, you’re really low. I bet their game didn’t even include you, right?”

After hearing Wen Yu’s words, Number 2 immediately fell silent.

From Number 2’s eyes, Wen Yu had already gotten his answer—in the eyes of the Dominator and Demon Lord, this former will of the Demon Realm was completely insignificant!

It’s even possible that the Demon Lord knew about the Demon Spirit stirring things in the Demon Realm, and the Dominator understood Number 2 was a carbon copy of the Demon Spirit. Yet, neither of these guys ever considered the Demon Spirit as noteworthy.

The difference in rank... To the Demon Lord and Dominator, the Demon Spirit is never a threat...

”So, what you said about eternal imprisonment... tut tut, believe me, that won’t be my fate. Let me tell you what’s going to happen next.”

”First, the Golden Armor will come here. As for the purpose, um, it should be to take me to meet the Dominator.”

”The Dominator’s orders, you can’t resist them. So, I’ll leave this Contemplation Chamber and never return.”

”Then, I’ll meet the Dominator, and you’ll want to hear the Dominator’s final judgment on me. But unfortunately, you don’t have the privilege to listen to our conversation.”

”The Dominator will dismiss you!”

”You can only wait somewhere, hoping to hear news of my death, then eliminate the biggest threat to your plan of inciting Earth’s consciousness. But believe me, the outcome won’t be what you imagine.”

”After talking with the Dominator, I will return to Earth and resume my role as Sequence Number 1. Of course, my position as Beijing Assembly Site Commanding Officer won’t change, and the Dominator will revoke my wanted notice. And you, the next time you see me, should address me as Lord Sequence Number 1.”

Listening to Wen Yu’s conclusion, Number 2 let out a sneer.

”You’re dreaming!”

”You see, this is your flaw. I bet you’ve encountered countless worlds and still don’t understand what game the Dominator and the Demon Lord are playing, right?”

Number 2 immediately fell silent...

At this moment, Wen Yu’s gaze was flickering.

The Demon Spirit seems to really know nothing...

...

Wen Yu isn’t sure whether things will play out as he said, but spinning stories and fooling the Demon Spirit to glean some information isn’t a problem.

And the gains, it seems, are indeed significant—at least Wen Yu knows the Demon Spirit is clueless about the Dominator and the Demon Lord’s game.

It’s not that the Demon Spirit is stupid, it’s just that their goals are different.

The Demon Spirit wants to reclaim the Demon Realm, while the Dominator and Demon Lord are vying for the Celestial Gift Stone. Everyone plays their own game, but from Wen Yu’s perspective, the Demon Spirit is indeed a cut below the Dominator and Demon Lord.

This, instead, puts Wen Yu at ease—because against the Dominator and Demon Lord, Wen Yu sees no hope of victory, but against the Demon Spirit...

A battle is sure to ensue between them!

He stared at Number 2 for a moment, then spoke again.

”So, do you know what your ending will be?”

”What is it?”

Number 2, defensive and somewhat disoriented, instinctively asked, only to be met with Wen Yu’s sneer.

”Every carbon copy of yours will become nourishment for me to strengthen myself, and your true self will face eternal imprisonment!”

After speaking, Wen Yu cheekily winked at Number 2, ignoring his surprise. He looked up at the door.

”Squeak~~~”

As the sound echoed, the image of the Golden Armor came into view for both of them. He looked complexly at Wen Yu and Number 2 before speaking.

”Wen Yu, the Dominator summons.”

Number 2, confused and puzzled, saw Wen Yu suddenly burst into laughter, the laughter disturbed Number 2 until Wen Yu stood up, lightly patting Number 2’s shoulder, then leaning his cheek close and lowering his voice to give Number 2 a final farewell.

”Remember what I said, soon I’ll come looking for you... um, where to start with your carbon copies...”
