Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”You probably haven’t fully grasped the current extent of your Soul Puppet Legion’s development, have you?”

Hearing Lin Haifeng’s question, Wen Yu shook his head — theoretically, every newly emerged Soul Puppet would establish a mental connection with Wen Yu, the creator. However, there were indeed too many such connections. As soon as the number of Soul Puppets surpassed ten thousand, Wen Yu had blocked off the soul connections with them.

Having countless thoughts flooding into one’s mind at any moment is not something enjoyable.

Seeing Wen Yu’s bewildered expression, Lin Haifeng’s mind was filled with mixed emotions — well, he wanted this force, but he just couldn’t get involved, while the owner of this force couldn’t even manage these things...

This is a typical case of resource mismatch. Lin Haifeng could even imagine that from the beginning, Wen Yu might not have cared about these creations of his at all — once they were created, whether they lived or died was up to fate.

But fortunately... fortunately, he had many people under him, and they found all sorts of things. Also, fortunately, he happened to have something Wen Yu wanted.

Resource mismatch doesn’t matter too much, everyone can make trades... Old Lin loves making deals with Wen Yu...

But before that, Lin Haifeng thought he should enlighten Wen Yu a bit, letting him know just how much his followers had achieved in these years!

”If Yanjing and the Demigods represent two sides, then your Soul Puppets are the neutral third party, and I need to tell you, this third party under your command has shown strength even stronger than both us and the Demigods!”

Wen Yu was stunned.

...

”Over the past three years, your Soul Puppet Legion has been actively engaged in the main battlefield. Compared to Level 7 peak professionist combat power, your Soul Puppet Legion occupies 58% of the main battlefield.”

”58%? That much?”

Upon hearing this figure, Wen Yu was dumbfounded. What does this mean? More than half of the main battlefield’s main forces are his followers!

”That’s exactly how much!”

Lin Haifeng confirmed Wen Yu’s skepticism, and he continued, ”This is just the main force. Your Soul Puppet Legion has even more low-level forces! They are a massive amount, even more than the mutant beast group! But that’s not the most surprising thing. The most astonishing part is that your Soul Puppet Legion is not restricted by the Level Lock, meaning each of them is equivalent to a Breakthrough Achiever! You seem to have truly overlooked the potential of your subordinates. Now, your Soul Puppets include up to 35 Sequence-class creatures, with the most powerful being a humanoid monster.”

Lin Haifeng was likely referring to the Corpse puppet.

”That guy’s combat strength far exceeds my grandson’s... Uh, in other words, the Soul Puppet under your command is the strongest force on the Earth side of the main battlefield!”

The performance of the Corpse puppet was somewhat unexpected for Wen Yu, but recalling the unique nature of the Corpse puppet and comparing it with the strength Lin Que showed during the sixth Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, Wen Yu found that the Corpse puppet’s strength being superior to Lin Que’s should have been expected.

”During the time you weren’t around, your Soul Puppet Legion became led by Mountain Kui, with Corpse puppet as the commander, along with several other Soul Puppets coordinating. They developed faster and faster on the foundation you left, to the point where now some say the Soul Puppet Clan is the largest family on Earth! I hope I have conveyed to you how vast your force is.”

After hearing Lin Haifeng’s explanation, Wen Yu remained silent for a moment, then nodded — truthfully, Wen Yu had not expected the Soul Puppets to develop to such an extent.

”However, there’s one thing that concerns me quite a bit. You see, the reproduction method of these Soul Puppets is asexual and has no gestation period. As long as there’s Creation Energy and sufficient materials, these things can be produced in large batches. I’m afraid someday these things may get out of your control, and if that happens...”

Lin Haifeng didn’t elaborate on what would happen if such a situation arose, but thinking about the characteristics of the Soul Puppets, Wen Yu also understood the terrible disaster that would ensue if these creatures lost control!

However, this fear was purely unnecessary.

”The root of every Soul Puppets’ Soul Mark is in my hands. Their relationship with me is even closer than Earthborn life with Earth. If I die, they will definitely die. Moreover, at any time, I can eliminate any Soul Puppet’s soul remotely, just with a thought, so you don’t have to worry about these things. Let’s change the topic to the aspect where you need my force.”

Wen Yu redirected the conversation, while Lin Haifeng, indeed with grand ambitions, bluntly said, ”I want the control rights over your Soul Puppets — based on your earlier theory, transferring control of the Soul Puppets should be quite easy, right?”

”Tch...”

Wen Yu didn’t even bother to respond, just rolled his eyes.

It’s really just like Old Lin to think that way...

But negotiating is inherently about both sides probing each other’s bottom lines. Seeing Wen Yu wouldn’t even discuss it, Lin Haifeng immediately lowered his request.

”How about this, we in Yanjing need to form a military alliance with the Soul Puppets, with Yanjing as the main direction not just on the main battlefield, but also occasionally against the Demigods.”

This suggestion, after Wen Yu thought about it for a moment, was accepted without hesitation.

The growth and expansion of the Soul Puppets were indeed unforeseen, and in fact, even with the Soul Puppets developing to this point, it provided nearly no help to Wen Yu. Since they were idle, why not have them do something productive and bring back some positive feedback?

After the two reached an agreement, they chatted casually for a while until when Wen Yu got up to leave, he casually asked Lin Haifeng.

”By the way, if you find the Demigods bothersome, I can take care of them for you.”

Seeing Yanjing facing a strong competitor, Wen Yu was puzzled as to why Old Lin wasn’t taking this opportunity to use the Decapitation Strategy, but Lin Haifeng could only sigh with a bitter smile.

”Do you know where the Demigods are?”

Wen Yu was taken aback, then asked.

”Where?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, Lin Haifeng just sighed and pointed down at the ground.

”Most of the time they are in the Heart of the World, and sometimes they wander around the world. Even during these short periods, they seldom appear on the tiered battle ground, spending most of their time on Earth’s surface where our intelligence agencies can’t spot them. I’d love you to kill them, but you need to do that right under Earth’s will if you dare. If you have the confidence, go ahead and do it, and if you succeed, consider it that I owe you a huge favor.”

Wen Yu was speechless at once.

At that time, the scene where Lin Sai was ”purified” by Number One was still vivid in his mind, and this was also the fundamental reason Wen Yu didn’t return to Earth after coming back, and instead wandered around the tiered battle ground.

Level 12... It’s not an incomplete Level 12, but rather a complete world will.

Even Wen Yu was afraid...
