Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Level 11... The thing you need most right now is figuring out how to become a Level 11 powerful expert. Or rather, finding a path to become a Level 11 powerful expert.”

Bai’s words immediately woke Wen Yu up.

He had indeed broken free of the Dominator’s control, and so had his soul pet. However, just as Bai had explained back then, this method didn’t solve the problem; it merely shifted it, moving the problem from the Dominator and Earth onto the Demon Realm and Earth.

Only by becoming a Level 11 powerful expert can one escape the shackles of the world!

But this Path of Transcendance was not an easy one for Wen Yu to walk.

First of all, becoming a native transcendent powerful expert of Earth was something he could forget about—the will of Earth was never going to let him become that one and only Level 11 powerful expert. Tang Haofei had a shot at it, but now Old Tang was no longer on the same side as the derailed will of Earth. Seen conservatively, the Demigod had the greatest chance of becoming that one and only Level 11 powerful expert—after the plan to awaken Tang Haofei, although Old Tang’s state had turned out unexpected, the Demigod still kept moving step by step toward his goal. In a certain sense, the Demigod could count as a strong person too.

Second, there was the Demon Tribe—the Demon Tribe definitely had channels to promote someone to Level 11. But throwing himself at the Demon Tribe... that thought hovered briefly in Wen Yu’s mind, then was brushed aside.

Maybe in the future, when he was completely cornered, he might make that choice. But right now, it was still too early to consider that route.

Last was to pledge himself to the Dominator and become a Level 11 powerful expert by devouring his own kind—although there were flaws in this method, Wen Yu’s foundation was solid enough that even using this path, his power after promotion wouldn’t be weak.

But for the same reason—this path was even worse than going to the Demon Tribe...

And that left only one route.

”Items...”

Bai said thus.

”Certain special items can indeed allow a professionist to promote to Level 11 through alternative means. For example, that super item that appeared during the second Sequence Member-Ranking Battle—the Calamity Gourd.”

Its Attribute was well known. Ordinary people didn’t understand what the final note on the Calamity Gourd meant, but people like Wen Yu and Bai naturally saw at a glance what this thing was for.

But now that thing was in Tang Haofei’s hands. Old Tang had fallen out with the will of Earth, so he would surely hide it away very, very carefully, hoping to use the Calamity Gourd to successfully promote to Level 11...

Yes, neither Wen Yu nor Tang Haofei knew that Tang Haofei’s road to Level 11 had absolutely no obstacles!

Many opportunities are missed simply because people don’t know, don’t understand. If Old Tang understood his own special nature, then as long as Wen Yu opened his mouth, he would surely hand the Calamity Gourd over.

But many things don’t have an ”if”...

Snatch it by force?

The moment this thought popped up in Wen Yu’s mind, it refused to go away—if Wen Yu tried to seize the Calamity Gourd by force, Tang Haofei would definitely be unable to stop him. Yet after this notion circled briefly, Wen Yu still pushed it down to the bottom of his heart.

This matter isn’t urgent right now.

Snatching it would be easy, but what then after snatching it? Tang Haofei wouldn’t be that easy to kill, and once the ripples of their battle spread, it would be very likely to draw the attention of the Treasure Land Protectors. Once they noticed Wen Yu’s existence, the Dominator’s attitude would become hard to predict.

This whole thing could completely be left until after he reached Level 10, but Wen Yu couldn’t possibly place all his hopes on the Calamity Gourd.

So his current goal was very clear—to search for treasures that could help him promote to a Level 11 powerful expert.

His Spiritual Fluctuation linked to Mountain Kui, and Wen Yu gave Mountain Kui the order to pay attention to collecting such special things. As for the tiered battle ground’s main city, this convenient and efficient trading hub, Wen Yu intended to make use of it to the fullest.

But that was only one side of things.

After thinking for a long while, Wen Yu finally let out a sigh.

His current identity couldn’t get him into any treasure land, so he had cut off the largest source of treasure himself. But just because he couldn’t go didn’t mean others couldn’t.

Looks like it’s time to go see some old friends, and shamelessly ask them for help.

Thinking this, Wen Yu stood up and headed for the door first.

...

Wen Yu and Bai left the secret chamber. Bai casually said a few words, then his Shadow flickered and vanished who knows where. Judging from his high spirits, he probably wanted to play the scenery enthusiast. Wen Yu, on the other hand, activated the Concealment effect of the Heaven-covering Robe and stood on the empty street, pondering whom he should visit first.

Tang Haofei... and Lin Haifeng...

The former counted as a friend, while the latter couldn’t really be called a friend, but wasn’t an enemy either. All in all, the only one who could really help his plan was probably Lin Haifeng.

After a brief moment of thought, Wen Yu finally made up his mind.

...

District 7, Mainland Bloc Number 0158.

Scenery picturesque, warm winds gentle, the ocean covered eighty percent of this mainland bloc. Towering forests and verdant grasslands were everywhere. Overall, this place was a perfectly adequate retirement spot.

Oh, and by the way, this place lay on the far side of the Ring Star Sector—on the other side of the Level 7 main battlefield—so it hadn’t been touched by war. However, the Ring Star Sector was simply too vast. Even though the immigration work was already more or less done, there were still many mainland blocs left desolate and uninhabited.

This was one of them.

No, it shouldn’t be called desolate and uninhabited, because there was indeed one special resident here.

On a certain towering peak, Wen Yu saw the little house where Tang Haofei lived in seclusion.

Over ten years ago, Wen Yu had arranged for Tang Haofei to be stationed on District 6’s Mainland Bloc Number 1635, making him the final line of defense guarding the Ring Star Sector. Once the Level 7 Level Lock was opened, Old Tang naturally needed to switch to a new plot of land. Now, standing not far in front of the hut, Wen Yu looked around and had to admit Old Tang’s taste wasn’t bad.

Embracing the mountains, dancing with the Cloud; and farther away were sunrise and sunset—how poetic!

The hut was small, just a single wooden room. Outside the room lay a lush vegetable patch. Seeing those vegetables growing fresh and green, Wen Yu couldn’t help a wave of emotion.

The former Sequence Number 1, the once Invincible Tang Haofei—his current life... seemed really pretty good...

So good that Wen Yu almost couldn’t bear to disturb it.

Only when Wen Yu took a few steps forward and walked up to the door did he reach out and lay his hand on the wooden door. A crisp knocking sound rang out, and soon, footsteps came from inside.

”Creak...”

As the door swung open, a full-of-vitality Tang Haofei appeared before Wen Yu—eyes bright, clothes simple yet clean, expression calm and peaceful, as if he had completely resolved the burdens that came with his power...

Seeing the person in front of him, Tang Haofei showed no surprise at all. He simply broke into a grin and stepped aside to open the door wider.

”I knew it was you!”

Old Tang said this, and Wen Yu didn’t stand on ceremony. He stepped inside, glanced around at the simple furnishings, and asked casually.

”How’d you know?”

”No breath, no footsteps. If it’s not you, who else could it be?”

Wen Yu was left speechless for a moment.
