Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The food was quickly brought into the secret chamber by Mountain Kui—the dishes were abundant, though there were indeed a few Wen Yu had never seen before.

Mountain Kui, very understanding, explained to Wen Yu: ”These are dishes newly developed by some chefs over the past few years, with bull demon’s tendons as the main ingredient.”

Well, turning the Demon Tribe into food doesn’t seem like much of a problem; haven’t we seen so many man-eaters in this world yet...

Nonetheless, Wen Yu indeed felt a bit nauseous about these Demon Tribe body materials. In the Demon Realm, most of the food consisted of tissues from low-grade demonic creatures, and the culinary methods appeared crude—mostly raw consumption, with very few cooked before eaten.

Professionists naturally have super resistance; they fear not parasites or food poisoning and the like, but it’s genuinely awful tasting and downright disgusting. Even with Wen Yu’s psychological tolerance, it’s quite hard to manage...

Seeing Wen Yu’s discolored face, Mountain Kui wisely removed several dishes with demonic creature body tissues as the main ingredients from the table, which substantially improved the expressions of both Wen Yu and Bai.

...

Wen Yu and Bai ate and drank, akin to starving ghosts reborn, while Mountain Kui merely stood beside them. Only when he noticed Wen Yu’s eating and drinking slowing down did he speak.

”Master, would you like to review the financial reports from the past three years?”

Upon the master’s return, Mountain Kui, as the chief caretaker, undoubtedly had his first priority in reporting work, and Wen Yu merely nodded gently, signaling Mountain Kui to proceed with the report.

Lengthy numbers spilled from Mountain Kui’s mouth; over these three years, alongside the intensifying warfare, plenty of demon beast corpses and soul crystal stones were naturally collected. But upon hearing these terrifying harvests, Wen Yu remained expressionless.

”Let Corpse puppet and Cyclops have them; I have no use for them here.”

Wen Yu spoke thus—indeed, he had no use for them.

His physical qualities were excessively high, with an overpowering soul strength, significantly weakening the limit-breaking abilities of Almighty Demon Vine—the harvested resources over these years gathered together might take Wen Yu dozens of days to absorb the nutrients, and the ultimate yield might not even rival a single Dream Come True!

By all accounts, it’s a waste of time; in other words, the trade that once allowed Wen Yu to soar into the sky has now fallen out of Wen Yu’s consideration.

Obviously, Mountain Kui didn’t foresee these—thinking his accumulated stockpile over time might truly elate the master, only to realize, in the end, that the master’s level has long rendered external possessions unnecessary.

After a moment passed, Mountain Kui again spoke: ”Master, Lord Cyclops and Corpse puppet likely won’t require such a vast amount of Demon Tribe corpses; Fran approached me awhile back, needing large volumes of flesh for their flesh melting furnace. I wonder if we should merge some portion with them.”

Wen Yu briefly pondered, then nodded.

Destined not to reappear to the world, yet to say he’s indifferent to the war between the Demon Tribe and Earth would be a joke—although unable to act directly, soul puppets can, and he can indeed do rear logistics support for the frontline warriors, supplying some demon beast corpses to Yanjing poses no issue.

Seeing Wen Yu agree on this matter, Mountain Kui remembered it and prepared to discuss with Fran later. Subsequently, Mountain Kui once more spoke.

”Apart from that, there are some other things, mostly trivial matters, yet among them, something emphasized by adults this deserves attention—the demigod has indeed stirred quite a wave these years.”

When hearing the name demigod, both Wen Yu and Bai raised their heads to look at Mountain Kui.

Bai wanted to hear about this former colleague’s situation, whereas Wen Yu was more inclined to speculate about Earth’s will through the demigod’s actions—the abilities and identity of Demon Spirit made Wen Yu inevitably cautious and defensive, even if the object of defense was his mother planet.

In response, Mountain Kui succinctly explained.

”The demigod united seven super congregation points, and although outwardly they appear not to infringe upon Yanjing, the former Earth Community has become part of the past, now each party oversees a defense zone on the main battlefield, jointly resisting the Demon Tribe, and the demigod now leads this new power.”

After hearing, Wen Yu nodded—the demigod’s strength, intelligence, and backing with such achievements isn’t surprising.

”Moreover, the demigod allied with mutant beast groups, the Sea Clan, and the Insect Tribe, which have already openly aligned with the demigod’s side. Yanjing’s several Vermilion Bird War Gods were even drawn to their side; aside from slightly lesser combat capability at the top and heritage, the demigod’s power otherwise virtually matches Yanjing’s.”

Understanding Earth’s will and their small team’s structure, this outcome wasn’t unexpected—though in the past few years, these fellows indeed spiritedly active; seemingly Wen Yu’s absence and Tang Haofei’s seclusion indeed granted some ambitious people spacious opportunities.

”Thereafter, what I feel needs to be highlighted to adults, is some other small beings... well, according to the master’s age, they should all count as the new generation.”

Mountain Kui spoke until then, fetched a piece of crystal stone from his body.

The crystal stone was diamond-shaped, emitting a faint gloss, which Wen Yu recognized as a type of portable projection device—a technology found from a certain treasure land—it’s really akin to playing videos, but watching videos necessitates a network, and in the expansive tiered battle ground, many regions lack network access, lending existence such device its space.

With Mountain Kui’s adjustments, shortly, a gentle light screen from expanded before the three’s eyes, Wen Yu’s gaze flickered upon seeing the scenes on the screen.

”Sequence Member-Ranking Battle?”

”Yes, it’s the sixth Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, the first ranking battle after the master lost Sequence Number 1 title, and it’s the most recent ranking battle as of now.”

Wen Yu departed three years ago, and the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle commenced triennially, with now the sixth battle passed and the seventh not too far.

In the imagery, the spirited sound of Golden Armor resonated!

”Sequence Number 2 challenges Sequence Number 1! Battle, now begins!”

As white light flashed, Old Tang appeared on the ring, while his opponent was a familiar-faced youth...

The youth was around seventeen or eighteen years, even had fuzz at his corner of the mouth, yet his pitch-black armor and exuding fierce momentum rendered him with considerable seriousness facing against Tang Haofei.

”Lin Que, son of Lin Kuangliu, grandson of Lin Haifeng, concurrently the regimental commander of Dark Blade Knights Cavalry, does the master remember the Pitch-dark Edict issued by Dominator during the second Sequence Member-Ranking Battle?”

”That thing... quite terrifying...”

Mountain Kui narrating, while the battling scene quickly unfolded, Lin Que charged decisive assault against Tang Haofei with formidable vigor, that imposing momentum, even amazed Wen Yu!

”Indeed surpassing his predecessors, he’s much stronger than his dad and granddad!”

Then resolved by Tang Haofei with three slaps...

Indeed, Old Tang’s most forceful three punches—which can withstand without dying already displays strength!

The battle ended swiftly; afterward, Mountain Kui turned off the crystal stone, and then disclosed to Wen Yu a startling fact.

”In the previous top ten Sequence, only Tang Haofei, Lin Haifeng, Qin Tian, and Kasu remain, besides Akad securing Sequence Number 10, all others have been replaced by these new generations.”

”Aged between 16 to 26.”

Wen Yu looked up at the sky and sighed.

It felt like Mountain Kui’s implication was... he’s grown old...
