Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu didn’t know whether this weakening and amplification were temporary or permanent, nor did he know if there was a cooldown period for this Soul Balance Scale skill. Even if there was, how long would it be?

With just one skill, the advantage Wen Yu had accumulated over more than ten minutes vanished into thin air!

...

”Powerful force, pure soul... thank you for offering me such terrifying soul strength!”

Ross stood in mid-air, overlooking Wen Yu like a divine being, and then, his power began to ascend once more!

Using the soul strength amplified by the Soul Balance Scale as a baseline, Ross’s soul strength tripled before finally coming to a halt—certain state-type skills.

He naturally had such skills, and by now, Wen Yu had roughly discerned Ross’s skill system—centered around the Soul Balance Scale, pulling the soul power of both sides to the same level and then amplifying his own soul strength with skills. Of course, one last element was still missing...

Dim light spilled out from Ross’s body, quickly merging with the Soul Battlefield, becoming one. At the same time, Wen Yu only felt his power being suppressed once again.

Soul Realm Oppression (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Skills): Upon activation, forms an extensive field. All enemies within this field, whose soul strength does not exceed the host’s, will endure a certain degree of soul strength weakening.

Simultaneously, countless threads only detectable by soul perception rapidly entwined around Wen Yu’s body.

These threads seemed like stubborn parasites that Wen Yu could not break free from, even with skills, their link to him remained unbroken, parasitizing on Wen Yu’s body with no apparent effect for now.

However, when Wen Yu realized this, he quickly activated the Dream Come True Skill System to strengthen himself, aiming to catch up to Ross’s soul strength. The next second, substantial pull from the threads arrived, continuously tugging at Wen Yu’s soul power and swiftly transferring it to Ross.

In a short amount of time, the soul strength augmentation brought by the Dream Come True Skill System was half absorbed by these threads!

The second, and even the third weakening...

Bring the enemy’s power to the same level as his own, then strengthen himself through skills, weaken the enemy, thereby achieving a crushing advantage in soul strength!

Thus, when Wen Yu straightened his body again, he faced an opponent with soul strength dozens of times higher than his own!

The balance of power reversed in an instant!

...

Ross was in no hurry to finish off Wen Yu; he relished the sweet sensation brought by the surge in soul strength as if he were indulging in a drug, and this was fundamentally why Ross wanted to solve Wen Yu himself!

Every soul-type powerful expert, or rather, every powerful expert with a soul strength higher than Ross’s, was like a Ten Complete Replenishment Pill to him. As a Demon Tribe member who was less than a hundred years old, Ross had elevated his soul strength to this level through several applications of the Soul Balance Scale effect—and this time, Ross’s soul strength skyrocketed by dozens of times out of nowhere!

Perfect gain!

Moreover, the Soul Pressure suppressed Wen Yu’s soul strength, and the threads siphoned half of the augmentation brought by Wen Yu’s Dream Come True Skill System. Ross was in no rush to act at this moment.

He was confident that time was on his side! Whether it was the clown and Almighty Immortal Emperor, or the Faceless along with the human model and black cloth monster, in both battles, his side held the upper hand.

Indeed, time was on their side.

However, Wen Yu could no longer wait... Truth and Illusion. Reality Shift activated once again, bringing Wen Yu several times the augmentation, yet under the pull of the threads, this augmentation swiftly flowed into Ross’s body. In a short time, fifty percent of the soul strength Wen Yu had gained through Truth and Illusion. Reality Shift was extracted!

No matter how many methods Wen Yu had at his disposal, he couldn’t level their soul strengths again, so Wen Yu silently drew Palpitation and Mad Medley, quickly shooting towards Ross!

Wen Yu had a premonition that this would be a difficult battle.

...

The barrage of bullets flying towards Ross seemed like a gentle breeze and drizzle in his eyes, unable to stir any waves. He simply waved his hand lightly, and the storm cleared.

The barrage shattered and broke upon hitting an indestructible barrier before Ross, and in the next second, Ross’s figure flashed beside Wen Yu!

”Foolish fellow, can’t you see the gap between us?”

Ross said as such, then gently pressed a palm against Wen Yu. A simple strike, under the terrifying gap in soul strength, produced an almost lethal effect!

Ripples surged instantly within Wen Yu’s soul body, like a stone thrown into a calm lake, and under these ripples, Wen Yu felt a terrifying piercing pain in his mind, his soul body wavering as if it might shatter directly.

Ultra Mortal Combat took effect—the first stage was directly bypassed under the terrifying damage, instantly entering the Second Stage.

However, the threads entwined around his body once again exerted a powerful pull, so fierce that they drew away more than half the augmentation brought by Ultra Mortal Combat in an instant!

”Tsk tsk tsk, what a shame. If I had known you had such an ability, injuring you first before using the Soul Balance Scale would have been far more effective!”
