Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Skills and items were all depleted in the final battle. There might still be some S-Class items and skills sealed away in the warehouse. Would the Young Master like to take a look?”

Wen Yu feigned contemplation and nodded.

”A look wouldn’t hurt!”

”To be a whore and still want a monument to your chastity... Very well, let’s take a look... Heh heh...”

The mocking voice of the Almighty Demon Vine echoed in his mind, but Wen Yu deliberately ignored it.

Power not used before it expires is wasted. With my current high status and position, if I don’t take advantage now, will the military care about my phony title of ”Young Master of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes” once I leave the Heavenly Palace? Not taking full advantage of this opportunity would be a disservice to myself!

Mo Xuan’s performance perfectly met Wen Yu’s expectations.

”Young Master, is there anything else you need?”

Wen Yu nodded, his expression unreadable.

”Do you have any elixir pills that can repair Soul Damage?”

At his words, the Almighty Demon Vine fell silent. It knew exactly for whom these elixir pills were intended.

A slight smile touched Mo Xuan’s lips.

”Young Master, we have plenty of those kinds of elixir pills in the warehouse!”

「...」

With Mo Xuan’s explanation, Wen Yu understood why, throughout his journey, he had encountered numerous elixir pills and items, yet skill scrolls and profession scrolls were incredibly rare.

Before the final battle, the entire Universe of Immortals and Heroes had entered the highest level of combat readiness. Skills and items that could immediately enhance one’s power were quickly consumed. Consequently, elixir pills that enhanced one’s physique were also heavily used. A single medicinal herbs garden could provide Wen Yu with tens of thousands of physique points. While this seemed like a substantial amount, it was significantly less when distributed among all the warriors in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes. However, the remaining stock of various healing elixir pills was extremely large!

According to Mo Xuan, at least within his domain on the Fifth Layer of Tiangong, there were no Esoteric Level skills at all. Perhaps such precious items might still exist in the higher layers.

My power’s next explosive increase might only happen in the higher layers of the Heavenly Palace. Wen Yu felt no regret. What’s meant to be mine will eventually fall into my hands. Having become the ”Young Master of the Heavenly Palace,” I feel calm and composed now. This time, if anyone dares to snatch my belongings, I’ll directly summon a Level 10 Breakthrough Achiever from the Heavenly Palace to deal with them! Even Tang Haofei would have to submit before a Level 10 Breakthrough Achiever!

Speaking of Tang Haofei, Wen Yu suddenly remembered another issue.

”When I entered the city, it seemed like there was some sort of disturbance at the East City Gate...”

Mo Xuan, as the City Lord of Ling Yun City, was not only powerful but also exceedingly tactful; he understood Wen Yu’s implication immediately.

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s words, Mo Xuan quickly explained.

”Young Master, that was an envoy from an otherworldly organization, here to propose an alliance.”

”Otherworldly organization?” Wen Yu asked, feigning confusion.

Mo Xuan explained in a low voice, ”Young Master, after the destruction of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, the Heavenly Palace was transformed into a treasure land by the Dominator. The so-called otherworldly organization is a powerful group from a major world that the Demon Tribe invaded during that period. We have now become mere NPCs in their eyes...”

NPCs... what people on Earth would probably call them.

Wen Yu didn’t press further on this matter, and Mo Xuan didn’t elaborate. Wen Yu likely knew more about it than Mo Xuan anyway.

So, Wen Yu smoothly changed the topic.

”Forming an alliance?”

Mo Xuan nodded.

”Would the Young Master like to meet this envoy?”

”Me? Can I?”

”Of course, you can. In fact, according to the edicts of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, when important matters arise, the decision-making authority falls to the person of highest status. Now that you are here, Young Master, Mo Xuan certainly wouldn’t dare to make any further decisions regarding the alliance between our peoples!”

”So, if I decide not to form an alliance, none of you would object, right?”

Mo Xuan nodded with firm conviction.

”With your status and position, Young Master, your word is the law in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!”

Mo Xuan’s affirmative answer caused Wen Yu’s eyes to narrow.

The plan was successful... My intervention in the alliance between Earth’s military and the natives of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes—this was a decision I made the instant I learned of my fake identity! The poor haul from the Ling Yun City warehouse only strengthened my resolve to intervene. No skills? No problem, the Earth’s military has plenty! I refuse to believe that now, as the most powerful scion in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, I can’t squeeze some benefits out of the military. I’ve been coveting that SSS-Class light-type skill Lin Haifeng promised me for a while now!

As Wen Yu pondered, the reception hall once again fell into silence.

After a moment, Wen Yu lifted his head, looked directly at Mo Xuan, and said calmly, ”Let’s go. Lord Mo, accompany me to meet this otherworldly visitor. The others may leave.”

Accompanied by a chorus of ”Your subordinate takes his leave,” Wen Yu leisurely rose and started towards the exit.

Mo Xuan, however, seemed to offer a reminder.

”Young Master, aren’t you planning to inspect the supplies in the warehouse?”

Hearing Mo Xuan’s reminder, Wen Yu calmly replied, ”Just bring the items I mentioned earlier directly to where the otherworldly visitor is.”

”Yes, Young Master.”

After Mo Xuan respectfully received the orders and instructed his subordinates to handle these minor issues, he once again led Wen Yu towards his office.

「...」

During his conversation with Mo Xuan, Wen Yu had already decided how he should present himself to Tang Haofei and the military representatives.

After some brief thought, I quickly made up my mind. Rather than hiding and manipulating the alliance’s direction from behind Mo Xuan, it’s better to step out openly and tell Tang Haofei and the entire Cathay military: I’m the big shot now! If you want to have a good time in the Heavenly Palace, you’d better suck up to me properly! Since no one can expose my identity, and with the Heavenly Palace’s strongest—Heavenly Dao—to cover for me, so what if the military knows my true identity? Unless Lin Haifeng has lost his mind, he definitely wouldn’t risk turning the native forces of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes against him just to expose me. Of course, compromises and exchanges of benefits are inevitable. For instance, there’s some technology I don’t particularly care for. In that case, what would it matter if I gave it to the military for free? Naturally, ’for free’ is just a manner of speaking. Taking ’my things’ for nothing? Impossible! And the Earth’s military might even prefer to see an Earthling like me holding the reins of power in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, rather than allying with its unfamiliar native inhabitants!
