Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

On the Eleventh Floor of the Heavenly Palace, in a location invisible and unknowable to Wen Yu.

As the Dominator’s power surged further, the entire Heavenly Palace trembled as if under an unbearable weight. Huge, silver-white rings of light flashed ceaselessly at the highest point of the Heavenly Palace, while suffocating Energy Fluctuations and blinding white light spread uncontrollably.

The Dominator never hid his strength, nor did he need to—the Dominator was the strongest. This fact was clearly understood by both his subordinates, the Guardians, and his opponent, the Demon Lord.

...

This ’unconcealed’ power of the Dominator was also perceived with utter clarity by the Demon Lord, whose figure was hidden on the Eleventh Floor of the Heavenly Palace.

Sensing the Energy Fluctuations above growing increasingly intense, the Demon Lord also perceived that the Dominator’s killing intent had firmly locked onto the Fourth Level of the Heavenly Palace. The Demon Lord sighed softly.

His hands rapidly formed seals, a dazzling display of movements as fluid as playing a piano. Then, black Demonic Qi slowly seeped from the Demon Lord’s body. As countless runes emerged, the black Demonic Qi around the Demon Lord swiftly condensed. In less than a second, another figure, a carbon copy identical to the Demon Lord, had already appeared.

A secret Soul Fluctuation was forced into the newly formed carbon copy’s body. After completing this, the Demon Lord finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The newly formed carbon copy’s eyes slowly gained a spark of life. Perhaps in less than three seconds, the new carbon copy was perfectly formed—from head to toe, even in terms of Soul Fluctuation, it was identical to the Demon Lord.

The carbon copy gently moved its body, sensing the Level 7 power within it, then turned its gaze towards its ’main body’.

”The power is too weak!”

”There is no other way. The remaining power is more needed here. You will have to make do.”

The dialogue between the two identical figures—who were, in fact, the same person—felt somewhat eerie. However, the Demon Lord, well-versed in the ways of the Soul, was already accustomed to such matters.

The carbon copy nodded silently, seemingly accepting the main body’s reply, and then slowly extended its right hand.

”Where’s the item?”

The main body quickly took out a space ring and tossed it directly into the carbon copy’s hands.

”The Heaven-covering Banner and the skill items are inside. The rest is in your mind. Go quickly and return quickly. I don’t think I can last long.”

”How long, specifically?”

”One month!”

”That’s enough!”

Their cryptic conversation quickly concluded. Then, the carbon copy, without hesitation, took out a piece of pure black cloth from the space ring. The black cloth, as if alive, slowly enveloped the carbon copy’s body, gradually transforming into a black robe covered in runes.

At the same time, the carbon copy’s aura rapidly faded until all traces of life, even its Soul Fluctuation, completely vanished.

Heaven-covering Banner, Celestial Secrets Occlusion...

In terms of concealment ability, the Heaven-covering Banner could be called the strongest in the former Universe of Immortals and Heroes!

Sensing that the carbon copy had completed its preparations, the Demon Lord’s main body slowly closed his eyes.

”Prepare!”

The next second, infinite runes spread throughout the entire secret chamber, and a colossal Reiki instantly surged skyward!

...

The Dominator, also on the Eleventh Floor of the Heavenly Palace, immediately sensed the Reiki from not far away.

A flicker of astonishment flashed in his eyes. But before the Dominator, who was stuck at the entrance of the treasure land, could make his next move, overwhelming runes swept over him. Sensing the enormous suction force within the runes, the Dominator’s power erupted instantly. However, could this secret chamber, forged by consuming more than half the foundation of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, be so easily dismissed?

The Dominator’s power clashed wildly against the chamber’s power. A large number of runes were directly dispersed, while the Dominator’s own power was constantly being neutralized. From the outside, their strengths seemed balanced. However, one was merely an inanimate object. In perhaps less than a few minutes, the chamber’s power would be completely drained by the Dominator. Even if it drew upon more than half the power of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, trying to confront the Dominator with sheer force alone was simply wishful thinking.

However, another voice, faint and indistinct as if echoing right beside his ear, drove the Dominator into a complete rage!

”Seal!”

”You dare!!!”

...

The brilliant silver-white vortex and the blinding white light in the sky vanished completely.

But on this seemingly deathly silent Eleventh Floor of the Heavenly Palace, a figure cloaked in a black robe swiftly emerged from the tomb of the Almighty Immortal Emperor and headed straight for the teleportation array formation leading to the Tenth Floor of the Heavenly Palace.

Meanwhile, inside the secret chamber of the tomb of the Almighty Immortal Emperor, two figures, one large and one small, sat opposite each other...

...

Dazzling white light radiated endlessly from the Dominator’s body, illuminating the entire space.

At this moment, the space where the Dominator and the Demon Lord were located was filled with the songs of birds and the fragrance of flowers, like a fairyland.

However, the Dominator knew very well that all this was just an illusion; it was merely the manifestation of the Demon Lord’s skill!

After a long silence, the Dominator clapped his hands.

CLAP, CLAP. The sound echoed far, adding a touch of life to this beautiful yet silent space.

”I thought this little mess in the Heavenly Palace was the doing of that young fellow Tongtian. I didn’t expect you to be involved as well... I never imagined Tongtian would turn to you at the last moment...”

”No, he didn’t turn to me. He simply wanted to find a path to survival for the Universe of Immortals and Heroes.”

”I gave him a path to survival!”

”What you offered is not a path to survival.”

With these words, both the Dominator and the Demon Lord fell silent. After a long pause, the Dominator slowly stood up.

The dazzling white light around him abruptly surged even higher, making the Demon Lord’s figure appear even smaller and more insignificant in comparison...

Within the towering white light, the Dominator slowly twisted his neck, as if surveying his surroundings. After a moment, the white light gradually receded, eventually dissipating completely to reveal the figure hidden beneath.

It was an elderly man with graying hair and a beard, looking as if he were on the verge of death. Nearly eighty years old, with wrinkled skin, he looked no different from an old man on Earth, save for his pair of piercingly bright eyes.

Seeing the Dominator’s current appearance, the Demon Lord let out a soft chuckle.

”Still the same old tricks after all these years... using the appearance of an invaded planet’s natives to temporarily gain their trust...”

The Demon Lord stated the purpose of the Dominator’s disguise, his tone as casual as that of old friends catching up after a long separation.

The Dominator, however, neither confirmed nor denied the Demon Lord’s words, merely continuing to survey the space created by the Demon Lord’s skill.

After a moment, the Dominator spoke, his expression serious.

”You seem to...”

”...have become weaker...”
