Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Within a short time, Wen Yu couldn’t find any issues in the words of the Almighty Demon Vine.

However, intuitively, Wen Yu felt that the Almighty Demon Vine was trying to hoodwink him.

Although Faceless was a unique case, Wen Yu believed the Dominator’s standard for categorizing items and life-forms should be based on the Soul.

Only those with a Soul could be considered life-forms, while those without a Soul could only be labeled as items!

As for Faceless...

Wen Yu thought about Faceless’s first skill.

Human Creations (F-Class, Passive Skill): It is a man-made creature. Although it has life features, it does not possess a Soul, only a few basic instincts! This life-form can achieve Evolution by consuming corpses, but it cannot acquire skills after Evolution! However, skills can be obtained through special channels!

Even though it has the characteristics of life, it has no Soul...

Faceless’s Attribute threw Wen Yu’s thoughts into disarray.

Strictly speaking, the Almighty Demon Vine resembled Faceless more than mutant vines. However, one was classified as a life-form and the other as an item.

The complexity of the matter made it impossible for Wen Yu to sort out his thoughts.

Moreover, the crucial point is—if my deduction is correct and the Almighty Demon Vine itself doesn’t possess a Soul, then what is the Soul inside it now? Or rather, who does it belong to?

The Almighty Immortal Emperor...

This was the only possibility!

Then, according to this conjecture, have I fallen into a grand scheme that the Almighty Immortal Emperor has been weaving for who knows how many millennia, right from the very beginning?

The moment this thought surfaced, a chill ran down Wen Yu’s spine.

This time, Wen Yu truly felt powerless.

His mind wasn’t sharp enough, and now, even his strength was insufficient...

Wen Yu wasn’t naturally a suspicious person. However, after a series of events, he had come to deeply understand that strength alone couldn’t solve everything.

Or rather, I don’t have the strength to solve everything.

In this Heavenly Palace Treasure Land, Wen Yu felt as though he were treading on thin ice; one misstep could lead to utter ruin. Under such conditions, he couldn’t help but think things through meticulously.

But my mind truly isn’t enough...

Especially when facing old monsters who had lived for countless eons, Wen Yu’s meager intellect was ruthlessly crushed.

Even now, I’m not sure if the Almighty Demon Vine is truly the Almighty Demon Vine!

Just as Wen Yu was feeling dizzy and his head ached, a faint POP sound was heard, followed by a Spiritual Fluctuation from the Almighty Demon Vine.

”It’s open. Let’s go.”

The Spiritual Fluctuation conveyed by the Almighty Demon Vine carried a soothing power that hadn’t been there before.

This gentle spiritual power instantly calmed Wen Yu.

Gazing at the Almighty Demon Vine slowly slithering before him like a snake, Wen Yu sighed deeply. At least, judging by its current behavior, this thing truly doesn’t seem to harbor any ill will towards me.

Then...

What do I have to be afraid of?

At this thought, Wen Yu couldn’t help but laugh mockingly at himself.

In the past, whenever he tried to solve problems with strength, he would invariably fall into traps set by Lin Haifeng. Yet, when he tried to use his intellect to foresee everything, he found he simply wasn’t cut out for it!

Reborn as mere cannon fodder, I fought my way tooth and nail to Sequence Number 2, becoming the recognized second strongest of the Human Race, and possibly even the second strongest being on Earth. What have I relied on to get this far?

Decisiveness, a sharp edge, and the courage born from desperation!

When I abandon these qualities, trying to solve problems in ways I’m not accustomed to, what am I then?

Nothing.

At least, not the Wen Yu who was originally Sequence Number 2!

So...

Wen Yu looked towards the wide-open gates of the medicinal herbs garden ahead, a glint of ruthless determination flashing in his eyes.

Scheming?

To hell with scheming!

My goal is to flatten the entire world single-handedly!

And for the sake of power, what are risks?

Compared to dying a miserable death without power, I would rather die on the path to pursuing it! Even if I’m tricked and killed on this path!

It’s foreseeable that, in the short term, there’s likely no faster way to increase my strength than by entering this treasure land!

Wen Yu slowly reached out and placed his hands on the massive stone gate. He felt its smooth, cold surface and applied a slight pressure.

CREAK.

A grating sound echoed.

Despite the protective enchantments, having been abandoned for so long, the gate to the medicinal herbs garden still appeared old and dilapidated.

However, this didn’t affect the treasures within.

As the dilapidated main gate opened, an even more intense fragrance of herbs and wood wafted out. The myriad floral scents even caused a stirring within Wen Yu’s body.

There are definitely good things inside!

Of course, Wen Yu couldn’t determine what exactly was inside, nor which items were good and which were bad.

Therefore, Wen Yu decisively turned to look at the Almighty Demon Vine beside him.

The Almighty Demon Vine didn’t dally. Its front end twitched a couple of times, much like a human sniffing the air, and then it began to slither slowly.

”Follow me. I’ll take you to see your treasures.”

Hearing this, Wen Yu immediately grinned. He casually set down Star and Cyclops, instructing his two soul pets to guard the gate. Then, Wen Yu promptly headed into the garden.

CRACK.

A crisp cracking sound, like bones breaking, echoed.

Watching the Level 4 dead spirits from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes slowly collapse before him, Wen Yu shifted his gaze to the Almighty Demon Vine.

”Perfectly normal. This place used to have guards, though not many. Towards the end of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes era, everyone with combat capability was reassigned to the front lines. The level of danger here is almost nonexistent for you.”

”Doesn’t matter, just a Level 4 creature. Let’s go. By the way, where are we now?”

”This is something like a forecourt. The medicinal herbs garden is just ahead. Follow me.”

With a guide leading the way, Cyclops and Star guarding the entrance, and having rushed all the way here with a clear objective, Wen Yu practically had this entire treasure land to himself. Naturally, there was no need for him to hurry.

At this moment, Wen Yu felt like a tourist, following the Almighty Demon Vine deeper into the medicinal herbs garden.

”Over there is the plantation for S-Class and lower medicinal materials. Hmm, it seems to be preserved quite well!”

”Over there is the plantation for SS-Class spirit herbs.”

”And that area is for SSS-Class.”

”The elixir pill storehouse and Esoteric Level herbs are all in the rear courtyard. There’s another restrictive enchantment there, but I can break it!”
