Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 198: Chapter 154: The Final Blessing (Part 2)_1

As the Dominator’s hand moved slowly, the pile of corpses began to part.

The Dominator hadn’t finished speaking yet.

”These mutant beasts are different from you. You humans can use the Exchange Stone Pillar and treasure lands, but mutant beasts cannot! Their evolution is due to the power of your mother star! Whereas the divine beast species, one could say, are born upholding the will of Earth, to guard this planet. They are the true life forms recognized by this world! They are also this world’s proxies! Ultimately, my goal aligns with that of Earth. We both aim to defeat the Demon Tribe.”

The Dominator paused slightly when the Demon Tribe was mentioned.

”You should know that there are many races in this world. Even though you humans are rulers of this planet, I don’t necessarily have to choose you as my agents, do I? My choice of you is because the Human Race is naturally intelligent and possesses strong learning abilities as well as a well-developed social system, which in turn creates a problem.”

”What problem?” Wen Yu was unconsciously drawn in by the Dominator’s words.

The Dominator gave Wen Yu a strange smile. ”This has caused the desires of your Human Race to be stronger than those of any other race! Such desire serves as the driving force for your progress. However, to me, desire facilitates better— Control.”

The word ’control’ really doesn’t sound good.

”Just like this!”

As the Dominator waved at Wen Yu, a white light swiftly swept over Wen Yu’s body, and then... Wen Yu’s physical strength plummeted, dropping again and again until it reached the level of an ordinary person!

Wen Yu’s heart trembled violently!

”Do you want your power back?” the Dominator asked temptingly.

Wen Yu was silent for a moment, then slowly nodded.

”But you must understand, if I return this power to you, you will never be able to escape my control. Even so, do you still want it?”

After a moment, Wen Yu nodded again.

”So, you see, easy to Control. Of course, I won’t make you do things for no reason. After all, in my eyes, beasts are still more powerful when wild! They also grow faster!”

Then, the Dominator waved at Wen Yu again.

A tremendous sense of power filled Wen Yu’s body, even stronger than before!

”Consider this an extra reward. I’ve raised your physical strength to Peak Level 3. No need to thank me! Oh, and your little Soul Beast. Speaking of which, the Soul Master profession is one of the more powerful ones.”

With another wave from the Dominator, the little Soul Beast’s physical strength rapidly increased. In just a few seconds, both Wen Yu and his little Soul Beast reached Peak Level 3!

Despite this, Wen Yu felt no joy in his heart.

Because no matter how strong he became, he was still subject to another’s control!

”Don’t be unhappy. You should consider that without me, you might have had to walk a different path of strengthening. For example, living like beasts, eating raw flesh and drinking blood?”

”Who knows!” Wen Yu snorted coldly upon hearing the Dominator’s words.

”So I should thank you?”

”As long as you’re happy.”

”Right, our story isn’t over yet.” The Dominator paused briefly, then continued, ”We were just saying that humans’ desires are stronger than those of beasts. This is an advantage, but also a disadvantage. And the disadvantage is this!”

As the outer layers of corpses were pushed aside one by one, Little Dragon’s body was finally exposed beneath. More than half of its scales were torn off, and a portion of its muscles were mangled, a bloody mess. However, for Little Dragon, these injuries were merely superficial!

”What just happened was very interesting.”

As Wen Yu looked at Little Dragon, its eyes closed, appearing peacefully asleep, the Dominator’s voice sounded once more.

”This divine beast species’s strength is very high, exceptionally high! At least with your previous strength, you absolutely couldn’t have defeated it! No, you can’t defeat it now either. In fact, at this time, except for Sequence Number 1, no human can defeat it! However, it chose to give up in the battle between the two worlds. It couldn’t bring itself to hurt the companions it had been fighting alongside and even gave up its proud defensive power, completely exposing its vulnerability to the creatures around it! Maybe in its eyes, those humans and mutant beasts are friends, aren’t they?”

The Dominator looked at Wen Yu with a half-smile and continued, ”However, it’s not the only one thinking this way! The mutant beasts that died around it weren’t trying to harm it, but to protect it. They first tore off this divine beast species’s Scale Armor, then immediately bled themselves out, using their own bodies to cover the divine beast species beneath. Amidst the flying Scale Armor fragments and rivers of blood, it was difficult for outsiders to realize that this divine beast species hadn’t actually suffered much damage!

”Then, a Third-level mutant beast activated an ability!

”Final Blessing (B-Class, Active Ability): Sacrifice one’s own life to bless an individual. The blessed individual must not have a rank higher than the host’s! After the blessing takes effect, for one day, the blessed one enters a hibernation state. During this period, it will not be disturbed by the outside world or have any life fluctuations. After hibernation ends, all wounds heal completely! If attacked externally, this attack will be resisted, and the blessed creature will wake up. The recovery situation depends on the duration of hibernation!

”’Please live on, with my love!’

”A pretty useless ability, right? However, the fundamental purpose of this ability was to prevent this divine beast species from perceiving the intentions of its friends, its subjects! At least half of the mutant beasts chose to protect it. They charged onto this corpse mountain one after another, reinforcing its defense capabilities! Or they stubbornly resisted the ’selfish’ mutant beasts and humans around them!

”You should be able to imagine that if I hadn’t been here, you would have gone to inspect this corpse pile. You would have discovered that this divine beast species wasn’t dead. However, the moment you attacked it, this divine beast species would have fully awakened! When it saw that you were the only creature remaining, and when it realized the intentions of the mutant beasts that died for it, do you think it would still have allowed you to kill it? At that time, no matter what happened, it would survive!”

Wen Yu remained silent, quietly observing the long-cold bodies of the mutant beasts around him, and the peacefully sleeping Little Dragon.

”So, you see, your Human Race has too many desires. This also leads to you having too many schemes! Nowadays, very few of you understand what it means to give, what it means to sacrifice, or what it means to protect! You are not pure enough!”
