Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 185: Chapter 141: Decision_1

Wen Yu looked back towards the distant mountains and forests; there was no sound.

Perhaps the Giant Dragon hadn’t fully gathered its forces yet, or maybe it was being held up by something else.

The distance between Cyclops and Wen Yu was so great that it was impossible to communicate via Spiritual Fluctuations at the moment.

Wen Yu didn’t know what was happening on the mutant beast’s side, but the current situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable for them.

Soot Skin Demon Fiends were still continuously emerging from the Demon Realm’s Gate.

He wouldn’t care at all about such trash-like entities, no matter how many there were.

However, everyone understood that the three Blue giants were definitely not the entirety of the Demon Tribe’s high-end combat power in this war.

”Two choices!” Wen Yu spoke directly to Zhang Wenhu, who was standing by his side.

”First, we charge forth now! Get rid of those three Blue giants first!”

”Second, I don’t care about anyone’s life; I’m leaving right now!”

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, Zhang Wenhu stared at him, his face ghastly pale.

”Hurry up!”

Impatience was mounting in Wen Yu.

These were merely the vanguard of the Demon Tribe. The professionists in the camp were still capable of taking down the three Blue giants in front of them.

However, the casualty rate would be massive—very massive!

”I...” Zhang Wenhu hesitated, unable to get a word out.

Seeing Zhang Wenhu hesitate for nearly ten seconds, Wen Yu scoffed, said no more, and turned to leave.

What a joke! If you lack the resolve to fight to the death and still insist on defending your worthless territory, who should die if not you?

To Wen Yu, the most important thing right now was to wait for support from the mutant beasts. The second option he had just offered carried extremely high risks.

Charging forward now was tantamount to a suicide run. Their side hadn’t mustered its maximum strength. If they charged now and were entangled by the Demon Tribe’s reinforcements, all humans would perish!

And if Wen Yu died in battle, Earth’s side, lacking a high-end combat power, would face an even more difficult situation!

It was no exaggeration to say that in this battle, his own life was much more valuable than the lives of these people!

The only reason he’d proposed the second option was to see Zhang Wenhu’s choice. If Zhang Wenhu was willing to risk his life, Wen Yu wouldn’t mind fighting to the death to kill the three Blue giants!

Regrettably, Zhang Wenhu, who normally performed remarkably well, valued his life too much.

Unfortunately, many a time, cherishing one’s life meant losing it!

”Wait, Wen Yu, wait, let’s move forward!”

Seeing Wen Yu turn to leave, Zhang Wenhu immediately spoke up.

There were supposedly two choices, but for Zhang Wenhu, there was really only one. Due to his profession, Zhang Wenhu had no choice but to stand his ground and fight.

”Too late!” The cold words came from Wen Yu’s mouth.

Indeed, it was too late. The Demon Tribe’s high-end combat power had emerged once again.

Clusters of black flames were the first to drift out from the Demon Realm’s Gate.

Then, a skeleton draped in a black robe slowly walked out from the Demon Realm’s Gate.

”KEKEKEKE, quite an enticing smell.”

It was unclear whether this Demon Fiend was referring to the air or the fresh flesh and blood nearby.

Five clusters of black flames wafted ceaselessly around the black-robed figure. From within each cluster, it seemed as if incessant, shrill screams were being emitted.

”Die... die... die...”

”Kill me...”

”Kill them all...”

Endless negative emotions emanated from the clusters of flame around the Black Robe Demon Fiend, causing the nearby Soot Skin to become restless and quickly clear a path for this Demon.

This path was even broader than the one cleared for the three Blue giants.

”Why haven’t you launched the attack?” The Black Robe Demon Fiend’s Spiritual Fluctuation reached the mind of the Blue giant in the center.

The Blue giant bowed slightly, showing respect, and uttered a string of indecipherable sounds.

”Lord Aros said we should wait for his arrival before launching the attack!”

”Oho, in that case, let it be. After all, he is the Chief Commanding Officer of this campaign. What a pity...”

The Black Robe—or rather, from where its eyes would be—stared intently at Wen Yu, who was steadily retreating in the distance, as a low sigh escaped it.

”My master’s Soul Fragment... it’s on that creature, isn’t it...”

”Such an enticing aura...”

”Wait, Wen Yu, wait!” Zhang Wenhu kept shouting from behind, but he couldn’t make Wen Yu pause even for a moment.

The newly appeared Black Robe Demon Fiend saw Wen Yu, and Wen Yu, naturally, also saw this Demon Fiend.

This further solidified Wen Yu’s decision.

Merely a glance was enough for him to feel an overwhelming negative energy invading his mind!

Such an enemy was definitely a formidable opponent, one that necessitated his full attention.

The moment this Demon Fiend appeared, a severe imbalance in power between Humans and the Demon Tribe had emerged.

This meant that fighting now was equivalent to courting death!

”Can’t we join the fight? Can’t we?”

From behind, Zhang Wenhu’s pleading voice echoed incessantly, but it was futile; it couldn’t shake Wen Yu’s resolution in the slightest.

Without turning his head, Wen Yu continued walking into the distance.

After seeing Zhang Wenhu’s professions skill, Wen Yu realized that Zhang Wenhu was doomed!

The camp was utterly indefensible. Even if every creature from Earth in the entire Two-Realm Battlefield stood against the Demon Tribe, they still couldn’t defend it!

This small settlement wouldn’t even withstand the aftershocks of their battle!

”Wen Yu, Wen Yu, wait! If you really leave, what about them?”

Sun Ruixing’s voice came from behind him as he clung to Wen Yu’s clothes.

”What about them? If we leave, we live. If we don’t, we die. We have a choice now. But once those Demon Fiends attack, we won’t even have the luxury of choosing!”

Wen Yu looked at Sun Ruixing’s conflicted expression and continued in a cold voice, ”I’m definitely leaving. Whether you come or not is your decision!”

Now that his own life was threatened, Wen Yu was completely unwilling to waste any more time trying to convince Sun Ruixing.

”I’ll go with you.” Before Sun Ruixing could respond, Sun Aotian hurriedly walked over and stood beside Wen Yu.

”I... I’ll go with you too...” The speaker was a professionist Wen Yu didn’t know. He had noticeably low strength and a look of sheer panic on his face, just like most of the professionists present.

”And me...” One by one, professionists walked over to Wen Yu, their heads lowered, not daring to look at Zhang Wenhu, who stood opposite them.

”If you want to leave, hurry!” Wen Yu said in a low voice, then turned and walked away.

Demon Tribe reinforcements had appeared again. Besides a large number of cannon fodder, there were also three Third-level Demon Fiends.

No one could be sure when the Demon Fiends would attack, so leaving quickly was the best course of action.

”Wait, Wen Yu, I’ll go gather the commoners in the camp first,” Sun Ruixing called out, but Wen Yu rebuffed him.

”Do as you please. I can’t wait.”

After a moment’s hesitation, sentiment ultimately won out. Sun Ruixing gritted his teeth and headed towards where the commoners were hiding.

Zhang Wenhu watched Wen Yu lead most of the camp’s professionists further and further away. He then turned to look at the few ”trusted subordinates” beside him, bound by the contract’s power. After a long pause, he finally made his decision.
