Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 389: Chapter 307: Boss Descends, Mysterious Serpent

Zong Shen had no means to deal with this, as allies could not attack each other in friendly mode. Furthermore, many Lords shared the same thought, and Zong Shen didn’t have any numerical advantage, so he could only let them stay in the city.

A crowd of six or seven thousand was considerably more manageable than over ten thousand.

When the final challenge commenced, if they wanted a share, they would certainly have to find a suitable position to participate, so Zong Shen didn’t bother persuading these remaining Lords to leave.

He began assembling his warriors outside the North City Gate.

Aside from the Wolf Cavalry and farmers ambushed outside the territory, almost all of Zong Shen’s troops were present.

The greatest in number were the Kobolds, roughly divided into Dogman Warriors, Dogman Stone Throwers, and Dogman Prophets, led by Dogman Chief Dutra and split into three columns, with warriors at the forefront, and stone throwers and prophets at the back.

Zong Shen’s exploration, patrol, and combat squads were also at the forefront, while mages and shooters, being ranged units, stood at the back.

As for Zong Shen himself, after stationing his troops outside the North Gate, he instead walked into the territory.

The surrounding Lords also maintained a scattered stance, putting the Wolf Cavalry and those melee infantry at the forefront.

It’s said that strength comes from numbers, and rightly so; with so many people gathered together, everyone’s confidence grew significantly. This was without a doubt one of the largest collective actions since the fall in the regional lords’ history.

Each direction had two to three thousand people inside and outside the city, and even further, more Lords were on their way.

Zong Shen estimated that at least two thousand Lords would eventually participate in this final challenge, roughly about a quarter of the remaining Lords in the region.

Most Lords, due to various circumstances such as mounts or worries about risks, would choose to stay safely within their territories, which was a trend that could be inferred.

Unless the Lord System enforced participation by all Lords or this event concerned the life and death of all Lords, one couldn’t expect to see a scene of universal involvement.

For most Lords leaning towards stable development, playing it safe was already a gain.

There was nothing wrong with seeking stability, even more so for those reaping gains amidst risks.

At 6 a.m., the daylight began to break. Though the sky was still heavy with clouds, the darkness had predictably receded, and subtitles appeared in front of all Lords.

[Final Challenge, Officially Begins]

[Regional Challenge Boss Emerges]

[Countdown: 6 hours: 00 minutes: 00 seconds]

This time there was no Time Stop Effect when the subtitles appeared.

The ground under everyone’s feet began to tremble slightly.

”Rumble!”

A thunderous roar came from the north of the territory.

A massive amount of sand and dust swept out from the final descent point about a kilometer away from the territory.

A huge shadow appeared in the dust, clearly visible even from a thousand meters away.

At the current final descent point, more than 150,000 Burrow Monsters had gathered.

These monsters did not yet show signs of attacking, seeming to be waiting for something.

The massive sandstorm lingered, as if brewing for the final act.

However, the first to break out in combat was not the north where the descent point was located.

Instead, the south and west where the attracted Burrow Monsters had already entered the range of the territory’s defense buildings.

Marie, before Zong Shen left the city to stand by, had already started controlling the [Giant Crossbow Tower] in the city, using [Sniper Mode] to observe the surroundings, especially towards the west. Soon, a large Burrow Monster swarm numbering over thirty thousand began to enter the 4000-meter range.

Thus, she began to control the long-range [Giant Crossbow Tower] to launch attacks.

The other long-range defense building within the territory, the Tier 4 [Giant Cannon Tower], was personally managed by Zong Shen, which explained why he wasn’t on the frontline.

The [Giant Cannon Tower] had a range of 3500 meters and [Shooter Mode] for an overhead perspective, an observation advantage unparalleled, better than the [Sniper Mode] for viewing the entire situation, because the overhead perspective’s observation range was large, making it more suitable for overall observation.

Zong Shen had charged the Giant Cannon Tower with 15000 points of magic energy, with each cannon attack costing 150 points, enough for 100 magic energy cannon attacks.

He was now observing the surroundings in [Crewman Mode], besides the territory’s west, a large monster swarm was also approaching from the south, while the eastern monster swarms converged on the descent point.

After observing, he shifted his view to the northern descent point above the territory, enveloped in dust, with only a colossal figure twisting and entangling visible.

The shadow of this figure stirred up the dust, and its silhouette was over a hundred meters in length.

He guessed that this was definitely the Regional Challenge Boss.

As time passed quickly, minutes went by, yet this creature had not attacked, merely stirring up the dust in place.

Just as the announcement stated, it indeed had low aggression.

Delaying like this would hinder everyone’s attack progress.

Zong Shen locked it in his sight and decided to fire the first shot!

Over a thousand meters was just within the [Giant Cannon Tower]’s range.

Zong Shen locked onto it and opted for firing directly!

”Boom!”

The IV-generation Giant Magic Energy Rune Cannon at the top of the Giant Cannon Tower boomed.

No smoke was emitted, only a basketball-sized magic energy bomb with a faint purple glow roared as it was launched.

This drew everyone’s attention; everyone knew the formidable Zong Shen was the first to launch an attack.

The magic energy bomb roared towards the descent point, trailing a faint purple path.

It fell into the dust, and everyone in that direction held their breath, awaiting the outcome.

”Rumble!!!”

A thunderous sound resonated, the ground quaked slightly, and the explosion’s shock wave burst forth, scattering the dust.

There wasn’t much flame or smoke in the shock wave, only a faint purple energy spilling forth.

The Magic Energy Giant Cannon had a damage range of a thirty-meter radius, roughly a sixty-meter-diameter circular area.

The violent shock wave scattered the sandstorm, with numerous damage values popping up, not only hurting the regional Boss but also toppling a large area of burrow monsters nearby.

Meanwhile, it allowed everyone to see the Regional Boss in full view.

”Hiss!”

Everyone gasped.

”Snake... such a large snake...”

Every Lord who saw this scene exclaimed.

This news spread at light speed to the Lords in other directions of the territory.

If it weren’t for monster swarms coming from all directions, these Lords would have rushed to the north to see it clearly.

Indeed, the final challenge’s Boss was a massive, terrifying snake, fearsome in appearance.

Then, a Lord took out a Rune Mechanical Eagle, released it, as it flew rapidly towards the descent point.

Simultaneously, a projection appeared above the territory, showing the eagle’s perspective.

However, the Rune Mechanical Eagle was swift, soon reaching the terrifying snake’s overhead.

The full appearance of the giant snake projected above the territory through the eagle’s perspective.

The whole body was covered in black scales, with angular contours on its head, large snake wings akin to a cobra on either side, tendrils of black vapor emanating from its body, and red eyes resembling two scarlet lanterns.

All the Lords instinctively raised their heads, watching the projection above the territory.
