The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Thus, the Eldest Princess seemed to have forgotten Jingniang, holding Princess Qi with one hand and pulling Princess Yongping with the other. The three generations proceeded together to the guesthouse at Qingyun Temple to rest.

The previous commotion completely ruined the originally well-planned blessing ceremony.

To continue tomorrow or make other arrangements, it was necessary for the frightened female guests to have a good rest.

The Eldest Princess held a special status at Qingyun Temple and had her own courtyard within the Taoist Temple.

Upon arriving at the courtyard, she found an excuse to send Princess Yongping out and took Princess Qi’s hand, asking quietly, ”Ah Xiang, I remember when you gave birth to Yongping, it wasn’t at the Prince Mansion, but in a broken temple in the suburbs?”

Princess Qi froze for a moment, ”Yes, Mom, I’ve told you about this before! Why are you suddenly asking about it now?!”

”...” The Eldest Princess hesitated for a moment, as if organizing her thoughts.

After a while, she replied with something irrelevant, ”Just now, I was almost bumped into by someone, and it was a girl named Jingniang who saved me!”

While speaking, the Eldest Princess looked up directly at her daughter, ”That Jingniang looks almost identical to you.”

Princess Qi was stunned again, then forced herself to smile calmly, ”Mom, the world is vast and full of wonders, and there are people who look alike. That’s possible, right?”

It’s said that daughters resemble their mothers, but it doesn’t mean that similar-looking people are necessarily related by blood, does it?

Although Princess Qi said this, in her heart, she had doubts.

After all, as the Eldest Princess first inquired, she was not at the Prince Mansion during childbirth but in a chaotic, trafficked broken temple.

During this time, Princess Qi had been unconscious for a while, and she was never certain of what happened without her knowledge.

Moreover, her daughter looked neither like her nor like her husband, which made it really hard for Princess Qi to convince herself.

”There indeed are people with similar appearances in the world, but what about birthmarks?”

The Eldest Princess continued to stare into her daughter’s eyes, slowly saying, ”Jingniang has a birthmark on her right arm, just like mine!”

Princess Qi’s eyes widened sharply, ”A birthmark? She has a birthmark, and it’s exactly like yours?”

”Exactly! And judging by her age, she’s about the same as Yongping, roughly around sixteen!”

Continued the Eldest Princess.

Now Princess Qi found it really hard to remain calm.

One might be a coincidence, but two, three? Are they all coincidences?!

As a noble lady of the Imperial Family and being married into the Royal Family, Princess Qi was no fool.

She never believed in coincidences.

Seeing the flicker in Princess Qi’s eyes, the Eldest Princess sighed and said softly, ”Better to investigate!”

Even though Princess Yongping is a girl, she is ultimately of Royal blood and must not be confused.

The noble Eldest Princess who had lived a prestigious life would not allow her family to be deceived and misled!

”...Yes, Mom!” Princess Qi agreed, her eyes now filled with determination.

She wanted to find out what exactly happened all those years ago!

As for Jingniang, what exactly was her case!

...

He Tiantian hid in the corner, witnessing the moment of contact between Jingniang and the Eldest Princess.

She once again praised Ma Family’s wild writer with admiration: Brilliant!

Not only was her acting superb, but she was also an excellent director.

Look at how well they controlled the pace?

And that prop—

Tsk tsk, it’s lunar October now, wintertime.

Everyone was dressed in thick cotton clothes.

Underneath the cotton clothes, there were layers upon layers of more clothing.

Yet Jingniang’s sleeve was easily torn off... heh, He Tiantian didn’t believe that the clothes hadn’t been tampered with!

Also, the timing, very well-controlled.

Not overly hasty, advancing step-by-step, just throwing out one thread, allowing the Eldest Princess and Princess Qi to investigate themselves.

In this way, the noble mother and daughter would believe in Jingniang’s ”background” even more.

Even if there might be doubts in the process, they would choose to overlook them.

He Tiantian didn’t know how the Eldest Princess discussed matters with Princess Qi after leaving.

But He Tiantian dared to bet, they would definitely investigate secretly.

The Ma Family had already set up the layout, leaving numerous ”evidences.”

Soon, the drama of the ”True and Fake Lady” at Prince Qi’s Mansion would unfold grandly.

He Tiantian knew the outcome and had guessed the general process, so she had no further interest in this matter.

Regardless of the true or fake lady or the false lady, she thought it better to look at Qingyun Temple’s ”Medicine Soup.”

Having stayed at Qingyun Temple for two days, she finally waited for the day of the Medicine Soup offering.

He Tiantian squeezed into the crowd and received a bowl of not-so-pleasant-smelling medicine soup. She carefully smelled it, then dipped her finger in and tasted it on her tongue, her eyes brightening—

Hey! I wasn’t wrong indeed!

This is it...
