The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

The little maid didn’t dare linger any longer. She dropped a line, ”I’m going to report to the Third Young Madam,” and then fled as if for her life.

He Tiantian, on the other hand, pretended to look frightened, left her meal behind, and fetched a mirror from the room.

Crash!

”What’s wrong with me? What... what’s happening to me?”

”My face! Oh my God, my face is ruined!”

When Ma Family received the news and rushed to the East Cross Court, as soon as she entered the courtyard, she heard the sound of things being smashed and a woman wailing from inside the room.

A quick flash of a smile appeared at the corner of Ma Family’s mouth: deserved!

However, this was just the beginning.

As a vain, value-less mistress and scheming woman, you’ll face more punishment in the future!

This, you really can’t blame anyone else!

Who made you full of schemes, attempting to infringe on others’ interests?!

Ma Family felt immensely pleased inside, but showed no expression on her face.

She didn’t rush into the room but cautiously called from the doorway, ”Miss He? Sister Ah Dian?!”

Upon hearing the call, He Tiantian, with a face covered in red rashes and yet not having fully calmed her anger, came to the door, showing half her body.

Ma Family exclaimed, ”Oh my God, Sister Ah Dian, what, what happened to you?”

He Tiantian deliberately put on a pitiful yet angry look, wanting to cry, but feared the tears would irritate the rashes on her face.

Wanting to cry but not daring to, harboring complaints in her heart yet forcing a smile... He Tiantian handled this level of nuance quite adeptly.

Seeing such a ”He Dian,” Ma Family was very satisfied.

”I, I don’t know either. My face, oh, right, also my body, has these rashes too.”

With a tearful voice, He Tiantian spoke while rolling up her sleeves.

Her fair and slender arms were covered with large and small red rashes, looking terrifying at first glance.

Ma Family feigned fear, stepping back a few steps. As an ”uneducated” ancient person, upon seeing such rashes, her first reaction should be that the person might have an epidemic, rather than suspecting an allergy!

Ma Family’s acting wasn’t bad either.

He Tiantian quietly gave Ma Family a mental thumbs-up.

Unaware of ”He Dian’s” internal thoughts, Ma Family performed the role of a deeply private noblewoman of a wealthy family quite well—

After a brief panic, Ma Family quickly calmed down.

She began making arrangements one by one:

First, she sealed off the East Cross Court, not allowing He Dian and her little maid to go out.

Second, she swiftly went to report to the Marchioness and requested that an Imperial Physician be summoned for He Dian.

Third, she temporarily moved out the three children, and if necessary, planned to send them to the estate.

After issuing several directives, Ma Family finally said to He Tiantian with eyes full of compassion, ”Sister Ah Dian, you don’t need to worry. You are a benefactor of our Marquis Mansion. No matter what happens, we won’t disregard you!”

As the other side put on an act, He Tiantian didn’t falter either.

She endured the fear and panic, forced a grateful smile, and kept bowing in thanks to Ma Family from afar, ”Thank you, Third Young Madam! Thank you, Third Young Madam!”

Her life was now handed over to the Third Young Madam.

Along with gratitude, a rapid flash of guilt crossed He Tiantian’s face.

It seemed she finally realized that the Third Young Madam was a good person, and she shouldn’t have been so fixated on someone else’s man.

Ma Family: ... Now you feel guilty? Too late!

Moreover, Ma Family dared to bet that ”He Dian’s” reflection was just momentary.

Once she realized she wasn’t terminally ill and her appearance was restored, she would forget Ma Family’s kindness at this moment and continue to compete for the man.

If she bore a child in the future, she would intensify her schemes against Ma Family and her three children!

This woman is utterly selfish and viciously cunning.

The gratitude now is nothing but crocodile tears, all deceitful!

Ma Family laughed coldly inside, recalling the various acts of He Dian in the original storyline, and any trace of unease from plotting against He Dian vanished without a trace!

[Serves her right!]

[Although He Dian hasn’t acted wickedly yet, she’s inherently a bad person!]

[I’m just being proactive, it’s not unjustified harm!]

Ma Family had fortified her resolve, and meanwhile, the Marchioness had already received the news.

She personally came over, but didn’t enter the courtyard, choosing instead, like Ma Family, to observe He Tiantian from a distance.

”How could this happen? Just fine, how could—” develop rashes?

Could it really be smallpox?

Thinking of that dreadful acute disease, even someone as composed as the Marchioness couldn’t help but feel a panic within her heart, with beads of sweat forming on her forehead...
