The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

He Tiantian counted, there were a total of one thousand taels.

Hmm, this is not a thank-you gift, but a ”deposit”.

Lady Wei hopes that He Tiantian can properly prepare the ”medicine meal for treating men’s ailments”!

He Tiantian: ... As expected of a royal lady, truly generous in her actions.

”Miss, the medicinal ingredients have been sorted, please take a look.”

He Tiantian sent off Lady Wei, and just as she returned to the shop, she saw a thin woman in her thirties, with bruises on her face, timidly approaching her.

This person was a woman abandoned by her family, whose maiden name was Zhou, her given name was Qianniang, and despite being married for over a decade, she never conceived.

Her husband’s family looked down on her, and her own family also felt disgraced, unwilling to support her.

Zhou Qianniang endured beatings and verbal abuse at her husband’s house, working like a beast of burden, barely scraping by for over ten years. She originally thought she could endure it further.

Unexpectedly, her husband found another woman outside who got pregnant, and she didn’t want to be a concubine but wanted to be the main wife.

Her husband used the excuse of ”being childless” to divorce Qian Niang and drove her out.

The Zhou Family felt Zhou Qianniang was disgraceful and refused to take her in.

Of course, part of the reason was also that Zhou Qianniang ”couldn’t have children.”

In the open-minded culture of the Dafeng Dynasty, widows could remarry, and abandoned women could find another place or lower their standards to marry again.

But there was one exception, and that was ”infertility.”

Men marrying wives is for the sake of heirs, so why marry a woman who can’t bear children?

Some widowers with children might not mind, marrying her as a free maid.

But such things depend on chance, and before finding a suitable match, the Zhou Family didn’t want to uselessly support someone who does nothing.

With nowhere to go, Zhou Qianniang almost jumped into a well in despair.

It was He Tiantian who happened to pass by and saved her.

”I need someone to work here, if you’re willing, you can stay at my shop.”

”Willing! I’m willing! Miss, you don’t need to pay me wages, just provide me food and shelter!”

Like a drowning person clinging to a life-saving straw, Zhou Qianniang was endlessly grateful to He Tiantian.

And so, He Tiantian had an additional helper around as a general worker.

Zhou Qianniang not only helped with cleaning, cooking, and laundry, but she also did simple tasks of washing and drying medicinal ingredients very well.

She was inherently diligent, having endured so much at her husband’s house for over a dozen years, she had the phrase ”work like a beast of burden” ingrained in her bones.

On her own, she served He Tiantian with the utmost diligence.

He Tiantian: ... I originally wanted to rescue someone, not realizing I’d gain a versatile life assistant.

Even though Zhou Qianniang didn’t want wages, He Tiantian still saved a sum of money for her each month.

Additionally, He Tiantian checked Zhou Qianniang’s pulse, ”Your body is indeed somewhat depleted, but this doesn’t lead to infertility. Rather, it’s from being overworked and malnourished over the years!”

After hearing He Tiantian’s words, Zhou Qianniang was initially skeptical, ”Me, I can have children? Not a ’hen that won’t lay eggs’?”

He Tiantian was speechless, retorting, ”You’re not a hen, of course, you won’t lay eggs. You are a human, a healthy woman!”

Zhou Qianniang didn’t mind He Tiantian’s remark, continuing her doubt, ”Then why can’t I have children?”

He Tiantian wanted to facepalm, ”Having children involves two people. It’s like farming; you not only need fertile land but also good seeds to produce crops.”

He Tiantian looked at Zhou Qianniang, ”Your land has no issues, but you couldn’t produce crops, which means the seeds weren’t good!”

Hearing this straightforward analogy, a glimmer of light finally appeared on Zhou Qianniang’s previously numb face. She looked intently at He Tiantian, ”Miss, are you saying, you’re saying it’s him who can’t have children?”

Isn’t that impossible?

How could a man not be able to have children?

”Why not? Men are humans too, they also age, get sick, and die. Some women can’t conceive due to cold wombs or other reasons, while some men can’t impregnate women due to kidney deficiency or physical harm!”

He Tiantian stated with certainty.

Seeing He Tiantian’s attitude, the doubt in Zhou Qianniang’s eyes gradually faded away.

She finally believed He Tiantian’s words, then squatted on the ground, covering her face and crying loudly.

Having been with He Tiantian for a few days, Zhou Qianniang hadn’t seen her treat anyone, but she noticed that a noblewoman frequently visited her.

After some inquiries, she learned that this noblewoman was also initially unable to have children, but after consuming the medicine meals made by her lady, she became pregnant in less than three months!

The lady may not be a Divine Doctor, but she has remedies.

Remedies treat serious conditions!

So, her lady specializes in matters of childbearing.

If the lady says she can’t have children, then it genuinely wasn’t her fault!
