The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”The Princess Consort was about to give birth, but the Prince Mansion was besieged by the rebel forces of two princes. To protect the Princess Consort and her unborn child, Prince Qi ordered her to be quietly sent away.”

”By coincidence, I was amongst the accompanying personnel.”

”However, the Prince thought the Prince Mansion was dangerous but overlooked that the Capital City was even more perilous.”

”As soon as the carriage departed from the back gate, the guards were entangled by rebel soldiers. The accompanying old maids and head maidservants were also scattered by the rebels!”

”...In the end, surprisingly, only I was left to guard the Princess Consort.”

Recalling this past, Wei Yong’s House no longer felt lingering fear, only a sense of nostalgia and regret.

”I was young, never been out, yet with a fierce tenacity, I managed to drive the carriage through the city gates to a rundown temple on the outskirts!”

”There were several households taking refuge in the dilapidated temple —”

At this point, Wei Yong’s House deliberately glanced at He Tiantian.

He Tiantian:...

Oh, she remembered, the original owner’s hunter father had gone to the Capital City when he was young.

This was something the original owner was always proud of — My father was not just a clueless mountain hunter; he had ventured in the Capital City when he was young.

To maintain the original character, and indeed to ”fish,” after arriving at Marquis Nanning’s Mansion, He Tiantian had boasted about it to others.

By coincidence, the year the original owner’s father went to the Capital City, the ”Two Princes Rebellion” occurred.

”The Princess Consort exhausted her last bit of strength to laboriously give birth to a baby girl. She didn’t even glance at her before she fainted.”

”Looking at the newborn noble lady, a strong jealousy and resentment welled up within me. Why is it that we are all human, yet some are born into nobility while others are destined to be slaves and maids?”

”Coincidentally, the pregnant woman on the other side also gave birth to a baby girl. But that family was too impoverished, and while fleeing, found it was a girl, and directly took her to the back mountain outside the temple to abandon her!”

”...I, I don’t even know what I was thinking at that moment. In a moment of impulse, I secretly brought that baby girl back, swapped her with the one beside the Princess Consort, and then discarded the Princess Consort’s newborn outside the ruined temple—”

Wei Yong’s House’s eyes burst with a flash of madness, though it disappeared quickly.

Soon, she regained her disciplined, upright appearance, deliberately showing a guilty and remorseful expression on her face.

”I was wrong! I made a grievous mistake! The Princess Consort had always treated me very well, yet I betrayed her in my confusion!”

”For all these years, I’ve been repenting. After returning to the Capital, I secretly sent people countless times to search around that dilapidated temple, but found nothing!”

”...Until this year, I saw you, young lady. You don’t know; you look almost identical to the young Princess Consort! Anyone who sees you would think you are the Princess Consort’s biological daughter!”

Wei Yong’s House finished recounting her story, nine parts true and one part false, and then looked at He Tiantian with sincere eyes, ”Young lady, I am not lying; you truly are the Princess Consort’s biological daughter.”

”The Princess Yongping in the Prince Mansion is merely the mongrel I swapped over, one whom even her biological parents didn’t want!”

When speaking the words ”mongrel,” Wei Yong’s House’s teeth gritted exceptionally tight.

”You hate Princess Qi, and hate Princess Yongping even more!”

He Tiantian was not deceived by Wei Yong’s House’s performance but instead calmly hit the nail on the head.

He Tiantian had previously suspected the ”real and fake noble ladies” saga was merely Wei Yong’s House having the audacity to plot against the dignified Prince Qi’s Mansion for wealth and glory.

But some things were still inexplicable. Having courage does not mean having the nerve to commit a ”family execution” level offense.

He Tiantian thought, between Wei Yong’s House and Prince Qi’s Mansion, there must be some undisclosed ties.

Now, having witnessed Wei Yong’s House’s acting, He Tiantian keenly captured Wei Yong’s House’s micro-expressions, leading to speculation.

Wei Yong’s House’s emotions, finally stirred, froze instantly, and she quickly shook her head, ”No! No! I, how could I hate the Princess Consort?”

”As for Princess Yongping, when I left the Prince Mansion, she was only two years old, still an ignorant child. What grudges could I possibly have with her?”

He Tiantian still did not believe Wei Yong’s House’s defense, she stared straight at the seemingly disciplined and dignified retired palace maid, and said, ”When you left Prince Qi’s Mansion, it must have been due to your mistake, driven out by the Princess Consort, right?”

Wei Yong’s House, hit where it hurts, quickly flashed a bit of resentment.
