The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Therefore, as time went by, the flower-shaped birthmark gradually became the emblem of the Eldest Princess.

Yet, while everyone was familiar with it, it was indeed the first time they saw the same birthmark on someone other than the Eldest Princess.

”Miss, you, you—”

Setting aside everyone’s astonishment, the Eldest Princess directly glanced at the birthmark on the girl’s arm and then looked at the incredibly familiar face of the girl.

She felt an inexplicable closeness to the girl, a strange affection blossoming in her heart.

It was as if a mysterious force was calling out to her.

”This ignorant girl disturbed Your Highness, this ignorant girl deserves death!”

The girl seemed oblivious to the intense gaze of the Eldest Princess. She hurriedly pulled on her sleeve, covering the exposed arm.

Then, with a thud, she knelt on the ground, sincerely pleading for forgiveness.

The Eldest Princess was a Royal lady, symbolizing the dignity of the Royal Family.

This person exposed her arm in front of the Eldest Princess, albeit unintentionally, it still carried an air of ”disrespect.”

Hence, her kneeling was not overreacting but rather knowing the rules and understanding etiquette!

Seeing her like this, the Eldest Princess felt both comforted and heartbroken.

”You just saved me; I still haven’t thanked you!”

Not mentioning any ”disrespect,” the Eldest Princess gestured for her to rise.

”I dare not! Your Highness is a Noble, being able to assist you is my utmost honor! How could I accept your gratitude?”

The girl was respectful yet not servile, which made the Eldest Princess even more satisfied.

”What is your name? Which family are you from?”

The Eldest Princess asked meticulously.

”This common girl is named Jingniang, a resident of Wannian County. My family is just ordinary farmers. I heard that the Qingyun Temple offers Medicine Soup during the Lower Yuan Festival, and the Taoist priests in the temple would dispense it, so I came specifically to request medicine for my elder family members.”

Though Jingniang carried the reserve of a village girl, her speech was orderly and clear.

The Eldest Princess nodded silently.

”Mom! Mom, are you alright?”

”Grandmother, Grandmother~~”

The Eldest Princess intended to ask more when the bustling Jingniang approached, accompanied by her daughter, Princess Yongping.

The mother and daughter ran breathlessly to the Eldest Princess’s side, eyes fixated on the Eldest Princess, disregarding everyone else.

Seeing her beloved daughter and granddaughter arrive, the Eldest Princess temporarily set Jingniang aside.

However, when the Eldest Princess’s gaze fell on her granddaughter, Princess Yongping’s face, there was a moment of awkwardness.

This child truly bore no resemblance to her daughter or son-in-law.

Elders in the palace had once mentioned that she somewhat resembled Consort Shu, the early deceased mother of Prince Qi.

Yet, the Eldest Princess had seen Consort Shu in her youth, and the memory of Consort Shu didn’t really resemble Princess Yongping.

At best, there was a slight resemblance in the brow and eyes.

But this likeness was not very obvious.

If no one had mentioned this ”grandmother-granddaughter” resemblance, the Eldest Princess wouldn’t have thought of it.

Unlike that girl named Jingniang earlier; that face seemed to be carved directly from Princess Qi.

And that floral birthmark—

The Eldest Princess had always believed herself unique, even if there were similar individuals, they should be her daughter or grandchildren.

And they inherited from her.

Now, suddenly a person unrelated to her appeared, yet possessing a floral birthmark.

The shock within the Eldest Princess’s heart was imaginable.

”I am alright!”

The Eldest Princess initially wanted to recommend Jingniang, this ”lifesaver,” to her daughter, but for some reason, the words caught in her throat.

She glanced at her unruly, capricious granddaughter, eh, in the past, considering Princess Yongping as a treasure, naturally felt she was innocent and straightforward, at most just a bit hot-tempered.

Yet now, the Eldest Princess had formed a suspicion in her heart, revisited Princess Yongping’s actions, and found her too domineering, too ruthless.

Better not let Yongping know about Jingniang for now, this child is too cruel, her methods too dark. If she grew envious of Jingniang resembling Princess Qi, and then acted harmfully toward Jingniang, that would be unfortunate.

Over the years, people in the capital have often discussed, saying Princess Yongping doesn’t resemble Prince Qi or Princess Qi.

Princess Yongping is most sensitive about her appearance.

If someone stared at her a few times, she became displeased and then sought excuses to deal with them.

Now, someone bears such a likeness to Princess Qi... the Eldest Princess understood her arrogant and domineering granddaughter too well.

Before investigating the truth of the matter, the Eldest Princess didn’t want Jingniang to suffer harm!
