The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

The next day, after the negotiation with Aleister was successful, Kaito woke up early in preparation to have another date with Ravel. Although there were so many things that happened yesterday (on their first day too), Kaito is glad everything was technically over, and now he just needs to wait for the data from Aleister while finishing her date with Ravel.

However, when he was having a normal Japanese breakfast while watching TV with Est, Sakuya, and Ravel, the TV channel suddenly shifted and revealed breaking news about the level 5 Esper’s new ranking placement.

...

”Oh, I guess Misaka is going to be number 1 now,” Kaito commented calmly while watching TV, ”I think we should ask for a treat for her. Her subsidiary money should increase a lot now.”

”Master, you really have bad taste for Misaka-san.” Sakuya sighed while shaking her head, ”No wonder she doesn’t like you that much.”

”Indeed.” Ravel nods in agreement, ”Besides, Money has never been an issue for us, right?”

”Master, meanie.” Est also commented.

”Well, I was just kidding.” Kaito wryly smiled, but still in a happy mood, ”But still, a simple treat wouldn’t hurt, considering I did successfully negotiate with Aleister about her sisters.”

In Kaito’s opinion, his negotiation with Aleister can be considered a great success. The fact that he somehow also attracts Aleister’s attention to work with him is beneficial, as it would greatly aid the development of technology in the base world. Unlike Minaka, Kayaba, or Orochimaru, Aleister is genuinely good at technological development, probably only less than Lala.

However, his good mood was suddenly ruined when he saw the news about the new level 5 in the Academy City having his name at the top, with Misaka only second to him. There’s even a photo of him published during his watch of the Misaka fight last night.

...

[Greet the New number 1 Esper in the city: Kaito, with Esper Power - Creation!]

...?!?!

”...What the fuck.” Kaito muttered speechlessly, ”What the fuck, Aleister?!”

”Master... you...” Sakuya asked curiously, ”Is it part of your plan...?”

”No, it’s not part of the deal! Damn it!” Kaito cursed and pulled out his phone (of this world) to contact Aleister, ”Let me call the guy for a second.”

To say Kaito was shocked is an understatement... as Kaito never planned to do anything in this city. All he planned was just to help Misaka and then complete his date with Ravel... but Aleister’s action to publicly announce his identity definitely put him in the spotlight and forced a lot of forces to pay attention to him!

Knowing the original, Kaito knows how dark and deep this city is, and he really doesn’t want to deal with any of it.

...

After calling up Aleister’s number and waiting for a while, Aleister finally picked up, ”Good morning, Mr.Kaito.”

”Aleister, what do you mean by your action?” Kaito gritted his teeth in anger, ”Publicly announce my identity, I don’t have a plan to stay in this world!”

”I know. But it’s just part of our deal.”

”Deal? Yeah.” Kaito sneered, ”The deal was to let me help you, not to put me in the spotlight!”

”Unfortunately, to know what you are capable of in full capacity, I need to test all of your abilities... hence letting you become the new level 5, so my subordinate can test you directly what you are capable of.”

Kaito rolled his eyes and complained, ”No. You know that you can ask me directly, right?”

”I know, but you won’t answer me honestly, right? You haven’t answered how you knew my plan to that extent... so I can’t fully trust you yet.”

”...”

Hearing Aleister answer, Kaito became speechless. Although he can share the memories about this world with Aleister, there’s no way he would do it, as Aika has repeatedly warned him not to do it. If Aleister knew what the memories entail, their advantage in the plot of this world as they know off would disappear. That would put Misaka at risk, too, as she can’t predict what happened in this world anymore, with the plot definitely getting blown out of the water.

Kaito naturally doesn’t want to make his family member’s life more difficult due to his mistake... hence, transferring the memory to Aleister is definitely out of question.

...

”It seems you admit my guess was right, Kaito-kun.”

”I can’t trust you with the secret,” Kaito answered.

”So do I, I can’t trust you with what you can do with your ability.”

”...”

”Soon, the scientist team from Academy City will contact you to test your level. I hope you are willing to cooperate.”

”...You sly fox.”

Kaito cursed him last time before closing the call. Seeing Kaito seem very tired, Ravel asked him with concern, ”Kaito-san, are you okay?”

”It’s not okay. Aleister outplays me, and nothing I can do about it.” Kaito cursed.

”Is it a bad thing, Master?” Sakuya asked.

”I don’t know. But at least now I... no, we are going to be famous in this city.” Kaito answered with a resigned tone.

”Umm... that’s not a big problem, though countless people may target us,” Sakuya commented, having naturally seen the memory and also knowing how troublesome this city is.

”I know, that’s why I have been angry at the situation.” *Sigh* Kaito slumped in his seat and then muttered, ”That’s my fault, I should have realized this guy isn’t very honest...”

...

If Aika were coming with him, Kaito had confidence that Aleister wouldn’t be able to trap him in the contract content, but now he can only regret his decision. This reminded him of how vital Aika’s position in the chat group was and how capable she was when it came to sorting out a plan in any situation.

Now they were in Aleister territory and trapped within the deal, and there’s not much Kaito can do except to cooperate honestly for now. Anyway, Aleister never said he should show all of his abilities, and since Aleister has discovered his creation ability, Kaito might as well pretend it is his only main ability.

In the end, Kaito can only apologize that his planned date with Ravel today needs to be postponed. As Aleister said, a staff member of the Academy City Management called him to participate in the ability testing, and there’s no option but to follow along with them.

>>>>>

Following the staff member of the Academy City, Kaito arrived at their destination. Testing site for System Scan, which is going to test and determine what Kaito could do with his ’esper’ power. Surprisingly, he was brought to the Tokiwadai Middle School testing site, as the closest test area to his apartment.

Kaito brought into the empty land of 30 square meters with a fence and various observation instruments installed around.

During this time, Kaito is also watched by a lot of students in the area, including Misaka Mikoto (broadcasting), who was having fun teasing him in the chat group. After all, he was the new rank 1 Esper in the city, and everyone had been really curious about his information. On top of that, Kaito himself is quite good-looking too, adding to the attraction for the girls.

”Is he the new rank one? He is quite handsome!”

”Handsome, rich, and strong! He’s the prime boyfriend candidate!”

”Kaito-sama! Please look at me!”

”...”

=====

[Owner]: ”Geez, these girls are annoying. I hope the test starts quicker.”

[SAO Administrator]: ”By the way, Academy City looks really great, with all the technology applications everywhere in the city. I want to visit too someday.”

[Alien Princess]: ”Umm! That trash can robot looks cool! I am gonna make one for our city... but it’s also going to be flying!”

[God Tongue]: ”Flying trash can... I think you shouldn’t make them fly, Lala-san.”

[Owner]: ”Don’t worry, Aleister has promised to send all of the technology data to me later on, so you guys just need to wait.”

Kaito admits it’s a good thing that Kaito does not worry about trying to steal Academy City technology one by one... and offended many forces in the academy. Although in trade, his identity was announced to the whole world.

...

[Root Princess]: ”More importantly, it seems our leader has become really popular.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”So many girls watching you right now, you must be happy, right?”

[Owner]: ”Ugh, I don’t want any of this! If I don’t try to help you, there’s no way I would be stuck in this situation.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”Heh. Isn’t this partly your own fault?”

[Owner Favorite Girl]: ”Kaito-san, don’t blame others for your mistake.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”That’s right. How about just enjoying the process? It won’t hurt you anyway. You are going to only show the ’Creation’, right?”

[Owner]: ”That’s the plan. Using creation, I can somehow make an excuse for other abilities I got, like I use a prop to explain my teleportation.”

[SAO Administrator]: ”That’s not a bad idea.”

[Alien Princess]: ”Something has been on my mind about your creation ability... Is that what’s the limit of your ability, Kaito-kun?”

[Owner]: ”Limit? Pretty much nothing, as long as I understand what I want to create and have enough energy to consume.”

[Alien Princess]: ”No! What I mean, what you can do on your own without system help! What is the greatest creation you can do right now?”

[Owner]: ”That’s... I am not sure. I can create anything I want, anyway.”

...

Looking at Lala’s question, Kaito is honestly not sure how to answer that. Ironically, all of his 6* prop creations were helped by the system, as Kaito himself can’t comprehend the concept of space or time on his own... but that doesn’t mean he is not learning from system assistance.

The way the system helped him create props was by injecting the necessary key knowledge into the prop creation. Like with Gungnir, the system sent information about how to apply the concept of ’auto target,’ which he actually can apply to any other props besides Gungnir with some experimentation.

The upper limit of Creation ability is naturally very high, with it being classified as 6* ability, but how far he can go with it is something he also wonders himself. (without system assistance)

...

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Then, this event might be a great way to find out the answer to the question. Since Aleister has decided to use you, you might as well do your best to use him back!”

[Owner]: ”What do you mean?”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”The way you are using the creation is that you need to have ’knowledge’ of the said creation. If you are showing what you were capable of, I am sure the Academy City is willing to assist you in improving your ability by granting you more knowledge about stuff.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”That’s right! When it comes to assisting you with your ability, I hate to admit but scientist in this city definitely has a lot of experience.”

[Owner]: ”That’s... really possible.”

Considering that those scientists were willing to assist the Accelerator to become level 6 with a plan of killing 20.000 Misaka sisters, Kaito admits that those same scientists are definitely also eager to help and explore his ability. In a city full of designed as a whole city for students to learn, there must be a lot of knowledge that he could apply to his ’creation’ ability.

Suddenly, it feels not too bad... as Kaito realizes he might make a breakthrough on his ’Creation’ ability here.

...

[Railgun Girl]: ”Tch. I hate to admit you really can do that here. But don’t let yourself become their plaything! Beware of the Kihara clan!”

[Owner]: ”Of course, you too. Misaka. Your ability is definitely going to attract their attention.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”As if they haven’t already.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Pffft!”

[Owner]: ”Well, I think the test was about to start... so, see ya.”

[Scarlet Devil Headmaid]: ”When you are done, I will prepare some good lunch for you, Master.”

[Owner]: ”That would be great, thank you, Sakuya-san.”

[Level 5 Kaito, Please Start Demonstrating Your Ability]

...!!!

”Yeah.”

After getting called out, Kaito quickly closed the chat group and started his creation right away. While standing and focusing his energy, a long katana was created in front of him within 2 seconds... floating before it fell after its completion.

Unlike the first time, the current Kaito doesn’t even have to do any poses to create something, although he still needs to focus if he wants to create more complicated things like living stuff or conceptually attached weapons.

Watching how easy it was for Kaito to create a katana, everyone who watched was shocked by his ability. Especially, scientists who observed Kaito through a specialized machine were really confused about what he had done.

””...Wow.””

The usual how Esper works in this world is that each person has AIM (An Involuntary Movement), which phenomenon where an involuntarily emits invisible energy field is emitted from their body that interferes with reality-- hence, connected to personal reality. Each Esper also has a personal reality that is unique for each individual, and it is the source from which all Esper powers and phenomena are brought into the real world.

But Kaito got none of that... for obvious reasons.

Unlike Esper, Kaito’s creation basically directly happened in reality, without any AIM, and it also happened very naturally and in order. There’s literally no medium or calculation when Kaito converted energy to matter; it just happened like a real miracle (magic)!

...

”It’s a gemstone... very special gemstone...”

”There’s no calculation; he seems to be doing it naturally.”

”What a shame, but it also has great research value. Continue the test.”

...

[Level 5 Kaito, Please Start Demonstrating Your Ability Furthermore. Can you create a more complex structure?]

”Hmm, yeah, I can create everything that I can understand.”

[What can you understand? What does it mean?]

”For example, I understand the concept of electromagnetic and knives.” Kaito explained and then added, ”I can combine both of them and launch it to the target!”

After saying that, Kaito quickly demonstrates what he said by creating the 4 pairs of electric knives directly in seconds. As it was created in the air, Kaito then quickly launched all of them in different directions, showing he can also create an ’attack’ with this ability.

*BZZZ*

 ”...”

Once again, everyone who watched it was shocked, especially when the knives landed on the ground, they immediately released an electricity enough to paralyze a person! What makes the scientist crazier is that they really can’t figure out how it works... like logically short knives like that shouldn’t be capable of storing electricity in the first place.

At this point, scientists have realized how precious Kaito’s ability is, as it literally has endless possibilities!

[Kaito-san... Can you show us what you can do best?]

”Oh, even if it’s dangerous?”

[How dangerous were we talking about?]

”Easily destroyed the city, or country? I can create a nuclear bomb in front of you, though the time it need to takes might be longer.”

...!!!

Kaito then quickly demonstrated his ability, and after 6 seconds, a large nuclear warhead coated in black paint and radioactive signs was created in front of him.

After witnessing Saitama fight against Scorpion back then, during these 2 months, Kaito has successfully learned how to create a nuclear bomb on his own with the help of system knowledge. As for why show it off? Kaito wanted it to act as a deterrent to people who might have malicious ideas about his ability while also threatening Aleister at the same time.

[You actually understand how to create a Nuclear Bomb?! Can I ask you how many of them you can produce before you run out of energy?]

”Uh, infinite? Yeah, I have infinite energy too for some reason.”

””...””

More and more, Kaito shocked everyone who was currently observing him, including Aleister himself, who didn’t expect his ability to be so cheating. If Kaito was really told the truth, it means he really can destroy the world on his own. And then, Kaito shows more ridiculous creations that played with ’concept’ itself... shocked everyone more and more. A killing prop like Gungnir, which has ’auto target causal attack’ attached to it.

Kaito has even shown his ability to create a fantasy creature like slime!

At this point, the scientist is convinced about his level 5 ability... and realizes the boy in front of them is literally walking treasure and could help a lot with all sorts of technology advancement in the city. They would even want to label him as level 6 now, but unfortunately, Kaito’s gemstone ability is something they can’t measure, thus it can’t be done.

After that, the news about Kaito’s capability quickly spread throughout the city and became the hottest topic.

Needless to say, Kaito has become famous in a single day, attracting all kinds of attention from good and bad groups of people within the city.
