The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

After settling down in the city, Kaito and Ravel went walking through Academy City together, enjoying the sights of this world for the first time. While doing so, Kaito holds Ravel’s arm tightly, making them become the center of attention of the people around them.

After all, both of them have a good look and have blonde hair, which is a rare sight in a country like Japan.

...

”Ravel-sama, are you feeling nervous?”

Ravel shook her head, albeit her face a bit red, ”I-I am okay, but please stop calling me with the suffix -sama, Kaito-san.”

”Alright.” Kaito nodded easily, ”We still have 2 hours left before Misaka is freed from her class, where should we go?”

There are just so many places they could visit in this very large city, and Kaito is honestly not sure where they should go. With a population of 2.3 million people, and 80% of them are students, this city is absolutely massive with 23 different school districts.

Ravel went silent for a while before muttering shyly, afraid Kaito would be mad. ”Umm... I want to visit the shopping district. Is that okay, Kaito-san?”

Hearing her request, Kaito twitched his mouth, as he admitted he never liked to shop with girls since they usually drag him around and make him carry shopping bags. But since he’s already promised her, Kaito couldn’t reject her and answered, ”Shopping District... District 15, was it? Alright then.”

”Really?”

”Yeah, but we only have 2 hours for it.” Kaito reminded, ”Let’s start moving, shall we?”

”Umm!”

Kaito just hopes his bad luck curse has mercy today and doesn’t affect him. Since there’s nothing has happened so far since he visited this world (out of the base world), Kaito has anticipated his curse would affect him sooner or later.

Kaito didn’t know his bad luck had already started; Aleister had already decided to test him, while Kaito would visit the shopping district a lot with girls later on.

>>>>>

Thankfully, District 15 is next to District 7, so they don’t really need to take a bus to get there. After that, Kaito accompanied Ravel as she enthusiastically bought a lot of products that, in Ravel’s eyes either pretty or interesting.

He forgot that although Ravel was normally shy with him, she grew up as a girl from a noble family, and under certain circumstances, she showed that domineering nature. Fortunately, money was never an issue for Kaito, who could make ”anything.”

Otherwise, there’s no way he would be able to accommodate her request as Kaito stopped counting after he spent damn 2 million yen here.

In the short two hours, Ravel toured many places in District 15 and didn’t forget to give souvenirs to all the members. She even didn’t forget to bring souvenirs for her family in Highschool DxD, leaving Kaito unsure whether to admire or fear Ravel’s extravagant spending habits. Among the girls, Ravel’s spending habits were far greater than Aika’s or the others, perhaps in the same tier as Misaka and Mine

The only thing that made Kaito feel better was that he had come to understand Ravel better, and that she enjoyed it so much. Their first date is now ruined and has become a Ravel shopping spree experience... which won’t be the last.

>>>>>

On the other hand, Aleister, who has been observing Kaito and Ravel constantly, has been analyzing their personalities, abilities, and behaviors to decide whether they are dangerous to his plan or not.

In the end, Aleister has lowered his vigilance toward him and quickly concluded that at least Kaito isn’t an evil or dangerous person. The fact, Kaito, despite his unwillingness (Aleister notices it), still accompanies his girlfriend to have fun

In fact, after several indirect tests and observations, Aleister has become really curious about Kaito’s identity and is considering meeting him very soon. There are just so many mysterious things about the Kaito group and Misaka herself.... for example, Aleister can’t figure out what kind of method they use to communicate in this world (chat group), and he was convinced they were communicating via an unknown method.

The more Aleister observed Kaito, the more questions came to his mind... especially after noticing how special Kaito’s right hand was after it touched energy in the air.

...

”That blonde man is interesting.” Aiwass commented from the side, ”He has so many mysteries around him, and I am 100% sure he’s aware that he’s being monitored all the time.”

”Definitely.” Aleister confirmed, ”I’m sure all of their members know about UNDER_LINE. I’ve analyzed their movements and expressions, and they sometimes seem anxious for no reason. Even Misaka has shown the same behavior.”

”That’s amazing.” Aiwass sincerely praised, ”Do you want to meet them? especially that blonde man who has shown several different abilities.”

”Ability to observe the surroundings, ability to create something after observing it, and that right arm.” Aleister muttered seriously, ”What do you think about that arm?”

”It feels like what Kamijou Touma’s right hand, but I feel it’s even more special than that.” Aiwass is giving her answer.

”So you have come to the same conclusion.” Aleister’s jar suddenly fills with bubbles, showing he’s really excited with the ability, ”A man from a different world with one of its abilities is Imagine Breaker.”

”So far, He doesn’t seem to suffer from the misfortune that Imagine Breaker users do have, and he has shown to use unknown magic perfectly fine without Imagine Breaker affecting it.”

”I wonder if we can cooperate; at worst, we can try to rip his arm off later and figure out how it works.”

Having Imagine Breaker that doesn’t have any drawbacks is something that even Aleister finds impossible to ignore, since such an ability would greatly help in his plan to defeat all the demon gods. Kaito is literally enhanced Kamijou Touma, no, in Aleister’s opinion, Kaito Imagine Breaker is much superior to his protagonist’s own.

”Do you need me to face and catch him?” Aiwass suggested calmly as she was also very interested in Kaito’s existence, ”He’s strong, but I can feel he’s not my opponent yet.”

Although Aiwass can feel how dangerous his right hand and his energy reserve are, Aiwass can feel that Kaito isn’t there yet. Laws and rules still bind him, and as an angel, Aiwass certainly can play with concepts.

...

”Not yet.” Aleister refuses directly, ”You are one of my trump cards; I can’t let you go around, and it’s too dangerous since we haven’t figured out many of their abilities.”

”Let’s test him directly with some means.”

Taking advantage of Kaito’s seemingly good-natured behavior, Aleister then decides to test him directly by throwing a trouble at him. After all, for a Chairman with unlimited authority in the city, setting a trap for Kaito wasn’t a difficult thing to do.

>>>>>

2 hours afterward, Kaito finally ’escaped’ from the shopping district with Ravel, with a lot... lot of shopping bags in his hand. Those are gifts prepared for every chat group member and the Phenex family back in the high school DxD world later on.

As for why Kaito hasn’t put them in inventory yet? Of course, that’s because they are in public space and, more importantly, Kaito was aware they must be ’monitored’ all the time based on his own intuition.

Even right now, he has gained a lot of attraction as Kaito doesn’t seem to be troubled at all, despite having a lot of baggage. He also became the object of admiration, as Kaito brought all the bags himself, paying for all of it, while letting his girlfriend, Ravel without any baggage.

Thanks to that, Kaito has become a legend in the shopping district and unknowingly gained a reputation as ’perfect boyfriend’.

...

”Kaito-san, are you okay?” Ravel asked with concern, ”Do you need me to lift some of the bags?”

”Not really. You know my physical strength is much more than yours, Ravel-sama.” Kaito shook his head, ”Unfortunately, money isn’t a problem; otherwise, I would have gone bankrupt now.”

”I am sorry...” Ravel bows her head, genuinely feeling embarrassed by her action today. She’s genuinely having fun and almost forgets they were here for their first date, ”I-I am promise, I will pay you back later!”

”With your body?” Kaito teased.

”Mmm.” Ravel quickly blushed, but she also didn’t deny it. Anyway, she has developed some feelings toward Kaito, who is willing to go far for her, and naturally, like any other girl who falls in love, she’s excited to advance their relationship even further.

”That’s okay, then...” Hearing her confirmation, Kaito couldn’t help but get excited too, ”Well, let’s go straight back to District 7 and then meet Misaka Mikoto to rescue his sisters tonight.”

Unfortunately, Kaito knows he can’t rush just to eat Ravel right away. Misaka’s troublesome situation hasn’t been solved, and Kaito would feel bad if he decides to take a ’vacation’ before helping Misaka’s situation first.

”Help! Someone help me!”

As they were just passing by, they suddenly heard someone asking for help from a deserted place, which was a location between buildings... the same location where Kaito and his group showed up first time. It also happens that there’s no one around them at the moment, as it’s still in the last minutes before school time ends, and barely students walking around at this time.

Anyway, his first meeting with Ravel also happened like this, and there’s no way Kaito would ignore someone’s plea for help in front of Ravel.

...

”Kaito, it came from between buildings! Let’s try to help!” (Ravel)

”Yeah.”

Without much thought, Kaito and Ravel quickly run to the source of yelling and found a young woman in office suit attire surrounded by 5 gangsters. Of course, on the way, Kaito also quickly put all of the shopping bags into inventory; otherwise, his movement would be hindered.

’6 men surrounded and 1 woman... it is too much for coincidence.’ Kaito thought while frowning.

What is a young woman doing in here? From her appearance, she seems to be just a businesswoman and has no role in the original story as far as he knows. However, she should know this area is dangerous to pass through.

On top of that, it’s noon, what adult woman would want to do here? There’s barely any reason to go through here due to safety reasons. Even if she wanted to cross this area to take a shortcut, wouldn’t taking a taxi be just faster? She doesn’t seem to be a woman who doesn’t have any money to get a taxi.

Too many coincidences, and something is really off fishy, but there’s not much Kaito could do at this very moment. Besides that, there’s no way he would ignore the help, even if it’s just a setup from Aleister.

In fact, what Kaito guessed was right; the young woman was just a bait and setup directly instigated by Aleister.

She’s one of the director’s subordinates, and his boss told her to do this at the request of the ruler of this city. At first, the woman was not sure what the purpose of this ’fake’ drama but now with Kaito being here, she seems able to guess something Aleister wanted to do.

...

”Stop it!” Kaito yelled out, ”I am not gonna let you go harm this woman!”

”Who?” The leader of the gangs looked at Kaito’s direction and sneered, ”Oh boy, you wanna be a hero? Fuck off before I am gonna beat your ass!”

”Sir, are you here to help me? I was trying to pass this area, but these people wanted to rob me!” the young woman pleaded.

”Go escape, mam. Let us handle this.” Kaito answered calmly.

”Don’t worry, Kaito is strong!” Ravel added, putting herself in spectator position. In her opinion, Kaito definitely will take care of them, and she just needs to enjoy watching his ’shining’ moment.

”Is it really okay? I will ask the police to help you.” The young woman offered.

”Yeah... No. ”Kaito said, urging her to get away, but with a frowning face, ”Just get away from here!”

”But...”

”Go!”

”Thank you!”

Feeling Kaito seems to hate her, the woman feels cold and decides just to get away from here. Something was telling her that continuing to ask him wouldn’t end well for her, and she was right.

Kaito was pissed, as he was more convinced this situation must be staged by Aleister! The woman is just too ’fake’ to be a person in a desperate situation.

”As if I would let you go, woman!”

However, the naive and manipulated gang leader naturally just won’t let his prey go. The bald man quickly threw his fist to hit the woman, but Kaito quickly intervened by stepping in front of him and stopping his fist directly.

”What?”

”Hitting a defenseless woman, that’s scum behavior.”

The leader was genuinely shocked that his fist was easily stopped, and he couldn’t pull his arm back from Kaito. But before he was thinking of grabbing a weapon, Kaito quickly smacked his forehead with his own-- putting him down instantly.

*BAMM*

...!!

”That’s one.” (Kaito)

”You are so cool, Kaito-san!” (Ravel)

””Boss!””

”Everyone, let’s beat him!” (other member)

””Yeah!””

Seeing how easy their boss gets shut down, his other 4 subordinates get angry, and then one of them proposed to beat Kaito up together. Although they were just thugs, they could tell Kaito seemed stronger than them; it was not a shame to gang up on him, and not to mention, there’s no rule in a fight on the street.

”Hmm?”

Still, Kaito doesn’t take them seriously. After all, Kaito can subjugate them in so many ways; the only question is what kind of ability he wants to show in front of Aleister... and Ravel clearly enjoying his ’show off’.

”Raaaah!”

One of the thugs immediately pulled a dagger out of his pocket, which shocked Kaito for a while... but that’s it. Using advanced observation haki, Kaito easily read his movement and quickly caught his arm midway.

”Huh?”

Without so much reaction time, Kaito quickly disarmed him, pulled his arm, and wrestled him to the ground with force, so much so that he immediately passed out.

*BAM*

”That’s two.” (Kaito)

”That’s amazing, Kaito-san!” (Ravel)

Realizing they were outmatched individually, the rest of the three decided to go together in different directions and even had the idea to go to Ravel, who had been watching behind him for a while.

”Let’s work together! Get his girl too!”

””Yeah!!””

”Oh. That’s it. I have had enough playing.”

At first, Kaito wanted to still ’flex’ in front of Ravel, but their idea to go after her made Kaito feel very unhappy. This time, Kaito decides to show a little bit of what he is capable of using his real speed, just enough to defeat the rest of the thugs easily.

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

...!!!

Pulling out his real strength, Kaito easily outspeeds them and knocks them off before they even start... This time, they couldn’t even scream as every hit Kaito did now affected their soul directly. Since they were angering him, Kaito made sure that it would take a day or two before they would be able to wake up... and not even the famous Heaven Cancellers can do anything about them!

”Ah... Good job, Kaito.” Ravel complimented him with a sweet smile. Watching all of this reminds her of how she met Kaito for the first time, and just like that time, she really likes Kaito, who protects people he didn’t even know.

”It’s not even a warm-up~” Kaito just shrugged calmly, ”Let’s get away from here and meet Misaka-san.”

”Umm!”

Unfortunately, as they were just about to leave the scene, Kaito immediately felt something ’appear’ within the space in front of them and immediately pulled Ravel, stopping her from moving.

”Fuck!”

???

This method of ’appear’ was too familiar for Kaito, and knowing this academy city, there are only 2 people that able to do teleportation in this city as far as he knows.

*Blink*

...!!

Ravel wanted to ask what he was doing, but then, the moment a girl with tawny hair tied into two wavy pigtails with a Tokiwadai uniform and a Judgement armband in front of them, she immediately understood the situation.

That’s because the person who appears after them is one of the prominent characters in this world, Shirai Kuroko, who also happens to have the Teleportation Lv 4 ability, and is also Misaka’s troublesome roommate.

”Hey, you two! For injuring people and fighting on the street, in the name of Judgement Member Shirai Kuroko, you two are under arrest!”

”Crap. It’s really bad luck, or is it?”

”Um.” Ravel nods.

Realizing there was no way they could escape Kuroko, a Level 4 Esper, Kaito lamented his bad luck and slight anger toward Aleister, who manipulated behind the scenes.

There are just too many coincidences that even Ravel understood this must be work from the man behind the city.

However, Kaito and Ravel were aware they couldn’t run away from Judgement since doing so would make their life in the city difficult (also reveal teleportation ability to Aleister).

In the end, without any good choice left, Kaito and Ravel honestly followed Kuroko to the Judgment 177 Branch Office for interrogation. As for why not teleportation, naturally, Kaito’s right arm wouldn’t allow her to do that, so they were forced to walk together to the famous spot of Academy City.

From date turned into shopping, now became a suspected criminal, needless to say, Kaito regretted why he wanted to explore the city right away.
