Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 493: Chapter 65: Covert Schemes, Overt Schemes

”Kill the Dark King, then kill me. That’s my wish.”

Upon hearing the Wild Boar’s words, Umbrella Brother sneered.

”You don’t believe me?”

”I don’t believe anyone wants to die.”

Umbrella Brother continued to pin the Wild Boar to the ground.

”I died long ago. You all just pierced my brain and heart, yet I can still speak.”

”Nonsense, there are many abilities like that.”

Umbrella Brother remained unbelieving.

”Perhaps, but before I met you, I hadn’t felt anything for decades.”

The Wild Boar looked at Su Xiao.

”How did you make me feel pain? Do it again!”

Su Xiao ignored the Wild Boar, considering the information in the other’s words, some very hidden messages.

”Let me go, I’m not into that, holding me down is pointless, and you’re surrounded by undead. Even if you’re strong, you’ll be worn down by thousands of them.”

The Wild Boar struggled on the ground, appearing very displeased being pinned.

”Release him.”

”Hmm?”

Umbrella Brother looked at Su Xiao with confusion.

”We are indeed surrounded by something, just didn’t expect the numbers to be so exaggerated.”

After a moment of hesitation, Umbrella Brother released the Wild Boar.

”You’re lucky to meet me; if it were Toma, he’d find ways to kill you.”

The Wild Boar shook off the leaves on its body, wagging its tail.

”Toma? There’s another like you?”

Su Xiao sheathed the Dragon Slash; from the looks of it, the other side wasn’t hostile, rather, it was an opportunity, not for the others, but for himself.

”Of course. There are five Contractors in similar situations to me. Three have committed suicide in the black mist, leaving only Toma and me still surviving, but that fool is on the brink and is attempting fancy suicides recently.”

The Wild Boar started to laugh.

”Can you imagine? A macho man over two meters tall turned into a tortoise, a hard-shelled tortoise, hahaha.”

The Wild Boar laughed for a while but found everyone looking at it expressionlessly.

”No sense of humor. To not go insane in this damn place, you have to entertain yourself.”

The Wild Boar sighed, looking at Su Xiao.

”Hey, you with the knife, did you use your full strength just now?”

”No.”

”Good, because with the strength you showed just now, you’re not a match for the Dark King. As for the others... apart from that old man, the rest will die quickly.”

The Wild Boar, in its heart, had already deemed Umbrella Brother and Little Confused as dead, with Old Bar as half-dead.

”Give me some food.”

The Wild Boar looked at the pack behind Old Bar, Su Xiao furrowed his brow. Since the other was already dead, they shouldn’t need food, yet they were eating when they met.

”No need to look at me like that, my body’s structure is unique now; I survive by eating the undead. As for why I’m asking you for food...”

The Wild Boar lowered its head, not continuing its sentence.

Old Bar handed some compressed biscuits to the Wild Boar, who crunched them up, black liquid streaming from its eyes; perhaps they were its tears.

”This might be what it feels like to live. Dark King, I...”

After cursing out all the female members of the Dark King’s family, the Wild Boar spat out the food in its mouth.

”Come with me. If you lag behind, you’ll die.”

The Wild Boar sprinted away, Su Xiao glanced at Old Bar, who knew the Black Forest well.

”Our goal isn’t the Dark King; it’s the Skeleton Cave, and there’s no need to provoke the Dark King.”

Upon hearing Old Bar’s words, Su Xiao’s eyes narrowed. He had no intention of going to the so-called Skeleton Cave; the Sun Woman’s motives had nothing to do with him, and he never believed the Sun Woman aimed to save Devouring Island. From her many actions, it was clear she wasn’t a selfless person.

”So, he’s indeed going to seek the Dark King?”

”Yes.”

Old Bar confirmed, seeming to have already guessed Su Xiao’s purpose and very much wanted to part ways with him.

Su Xiao mounted Bu Wang.

”Then we part ways here, take care.”

The goals of Su Xiao and Old Bar’s group were different from the start, which Old Bar also clearly knew.

”Hmm, be careful on the road, I’ve heard the Dark King isn’t easy to deal with. Thanks for escorting me this far.”

”To each their own, you helped me get into the Black Forest; I helped you clear the obstacles.”

Su Xiao nodded to Old Bar, who tossed him a large bag of food and fresh water.

”This...”

Little Confused looked at the two, bewildered.

”Weren’t we on the same side?”

Little Confused hadn’t yet realized what was going on, but she felt hopeless, the big thigh she was holding onto tight had mercilessly flung her against the wall, unable to recover.

”We never were.”

Umbrella Brother patted Little Confused on the head; when Su Xiao had inquired about the Dark King, he knew their goals differed.

”Are you coming or not?”

A Wild Beast shouted from afar.

”Let’s go.”

Bu Wang quickly followed the Wild Boar, while Old Bar waved farewell to Su Xiao, seeming quite pleased to part ways.

After Su Xiao left, Little Confused seemed a bit down.

”What, fallen for that tough guy?”

Umbrella Brother teased, but Little Confused wasn’t in high spirits.

”What do we do now? Can the three of us really succeed?”

”I don’t know, but I do know that relying on others might keep you alive for a while, but not for a lifetime.”

Umbrella Brother wasn’t disheartened. As long as he wasn’t dead, he wouldn’t give up hope.

”Don’t be discouraged. Although Bai Ye is gone, I’ve mostly adapted to my power.”

Old Bar chimed in, leaving Umbrella Brother and Little Confused slightly puzzled.

”Surprised? It’s my second cooperation with Bai Ye. If we fight desperately, I’ll die, but he wouldn’t survive either.”

Old Bar confidently smiled.

”Then what did you do before...?”

”He placed tens of thousands of bombs inside me. Keeping a low profile has its benefits. Let’s go!”

Old Bar approached Umbrella Brother, radiating heat, the fallen leaves underfoot charred and scorched.

...

Bu Wang moved swiftly through the Black Forest, closely following the Wild Boar ahead.

One had to say, Su Xiao was lucky to encounter this Wild Boar. Otherwise, he might have had to travel with Old Bar and the others, and finding the Dark King would still be uncertain.

But perhaps it wasn’t luck. Su Xiao suspected the Wild Boar deliberately sought him out, waiting there for him.

The Wild Boar slowed its pace to match Bu Wang’s.

”Did you agree to my earlier proposal? Although it was subtle, you must have understood it.”

The Wild Boar spoke.

”Help me find the Dark King and I’ll give you a Reincarnation Mark. It’s a fair trade, but can you restore your Contractor status? Earlier, you leaked information about Reincarnation Paradise to plot characters.”

Su Xiao glanced sideways at the Wild Boar.

”This isn’t a Derivative World, so it’s not a big problem, and that old guy’s identity is special. He already knows about Reincarnation Paradise, maybe even signed a contract with Paradise. To regain my Contractor status, I’d stop at nothing. At least I need five Reincarnation Marks; I’ve stayed here too long.”

Su Xiao nodded. Five Reincarnation Marks equaled 5% of the World Source, a very reasonable deal.

”I like working with smart people. Finally, I won’t have to stay in this wretched place. As soon as I return to Reincarnation Paradise, there’s bound to be a way to recover, there has to be.”

The Wild Boar grinned. After detecting the aura of the Reincarnation Mark on Su Xiao, it had been subtly relaying information.
