Chapter 469: Chapter 41: Mysterious Misfortune

Su Xiao walked slowly forward, the interior of the spaceship was quite spacious. Judging by its appearance, it hadn’t been activated for many years, and some electronic devices were damaged, occasionally sparking.

The presence of a spaceship inside the Mother Nest wasn’t unusual for the Void Insect Clan.

From Su Xiao’s understanding, the Void is a vast place, home to a variety of races, some technologically advanced, and some with great physical prowess.

...

Walking inside the spaceship, there were no Insect Clan members here. After advancing a few hundred meters, Su Xiao reached the main cabin of the spaceship.

”Get out, this is my home.”

An electronic voice came, and Su Xiao looked up. The voice came from a screen filled with static.

”Are you the spaceship’s intelligent system?”

”No, I am the Queen of the Insect Clan.”

The voice was somewhat angry, seemingly dissatisfied with Su Xiao’s intrusion into the spaceship.

”Those two natives are your companions, right? The Regeneration Egg is very important to me, it is impossible to provide it to you, and stop this stupid, meaningless war. I can exterminate you at any time. If it weren’t for my initial error in piloting the ship, I wouldn’t have landed on this planet at all.”

The ’female driver’ Queen of the Insect Clan spoke with such confidence, it seemed she didn’t regard the Yasenman Tribe as an opponent, not knowing who has been fighting them for hundreds of years.

”Oh? If you’re so powerful, why haven’t you wiped out the Yasenman Tribe?”

The Queen of the Insect Clan was somewhat at a loss for words.

”The war has lasted for hundreds of years, and as an Insect Clan, you haven’t been able to destroy the Yasenman Tribe. What are you afraid of?”

”You don’t need to know.”

Hearing the Queen of the Insect Clan’s answer, Su Xiao shook his head.

”You’re afraid of a woman enveloped in golden flames, aren’t you?”

Upon hearing this, the Queen of the Insect Clan’s voice grew noticeably more hurried.

”Where is that bitch...”

”Huh?”

Su Xiao was stunned, his mind racing with various thoughts.

The Queen of the Insect Clan had just used the term ’bitch,’ a word the Void’s Insect Clan couldn’t possibly know, indicating some contact with a Contractor.

”This is getting more interesting; I suddenly find you very intriguing.”

Su Xiao’s simple words instantly provoked the Queen of the Insect Clan to a furious outburst.

”You damn male humans, why do your words sound just like that mad Sword Devil’s? Is my natural charm my fault? Why did you invade my homeland without reason? That damn Sword Devil, saying something like ’whatever woman I like can’t escape,’ yet I’ve been on the run for hundreds of years, madman, pervert, a pervert who could kill tens of billions of beings without flinching!”

This outburst left Su Xiao even more puzzled, but he picked up on some information. This Queen of the Insect Clan seemed to be targeted by some powerful entity in the Void, who then attempted to forcefully seize her. The Queen managed to escape, but during her flight, due to her soul as a ’female driver,’ the spaceship encountered an accident, ultimately crash-landing on this planet in a trembling state.

Su Xiao had previously been puzzled about why the Void Insect Clan couldn’t destroy the Yasenman Tribe. It now seemed the Void Insect Clan was here hiding from disaster, not daring to create too much commotion or even expand significantly.

”You’re doomed, I’m going to destroy you...”

Sizzle.

The screen’s voice disappeared, turning into static, as Su Xiao had already found the core energy of the spaceship and dismantled it.

[The Hunter has obtained core energy, sell it? Yes/No.]

Su Xiao examined the core energy in his hand. It was useless to him, so he resolutely chose to sell it.

[Core energy sold, gained 12% World Source.]

Upon seeing the amount of World Source, Su Xiao raised an eyebrow. This thing was quite valuable, and just the 12% World Source alone made it worth his trip to the Insect Clan.

...

At the core of the Mother Nest, a ’girl’ with a neck full of purple patterns was gasping heavily.

Contrary to what’s expected, the Queen of the Insect Clan’s appearance matched human aesthetics well, with no carapace on her body, only slightly pointed ears and two antennae on her head.

The Queen of the Insect Clan calmed her breath, her amber eyes filled with helplessness.

Her name was Ai, 806 years old, which for the Insect Clan equated to a human around 20 years of age.

”Aside from Ada, humans have nothing good.”

As if thinking of something, Ai suddenly hugged her shoulders, a series of memories flashing in her mind.

Lightning penetrating space, a legion laughing loudly like bandits, a mother star cleaved in two by a sword, and over ten billion cowering, motionless intelligent Insect Clans on the ground.

Resistance would lead to complete slaughter; even without resistance, over half would still be slaughtered. What kind of bullshit rule is this?

”Madman.”

Ai’s eyes were filled with hatred, the words of an enemy echoing in her ears.

”You’re too weak, so weak that aside from being toyed with, there’s no other use. The strong live, the weak die. No matter where you are, that is the rule. By the way, tell your queen, her claws reach too far.”

The strong live, the weak die; this was originally the Insect Clan’s principle, but Ai never imagined that the strong live, the weak die would become so brutal, to the point of slaughtering tens of billions of beings.

”It’s said that bastard disappeared, good, hopefully he died in the Black Abyss.”

The Queen of the Insect Clan looked up.

”That damned mouse called Mr. Mouse is on this planet. Once that mouse leaves, we must relocate immediately, the energy has been collected sufficiently.”

...

Midsection of the Mother Nest, inside the spaceship.

Just after Su Xiao sold the core energy, ’Guests’ arrived on the spaceship. They were two Elite Sting Scorpions, and Su Xiao was currently battling them, a fight that had lasted several minutes.

Blood dripped from Su Xiao’s chin, but the two Elite Sting Scorpions were only lightly injured.

Su Xiao should have been able to easily handle the two Elite Sting Scorpions, but that wasn’t the case.

It wasn’t that the Elite Sting Scorpions were too strong, rather, since the fight began, Su Xiao found himself plagued by mysterious misfortune.

Thirty seconds into the fight, as Su Xiao was about to slaughter one Elite Sting Scorpion, an iron panel from the spaceship’s ceiling fell down. He had to dodge, missing a golden opportunity.

A minute into the fight, a control panel of the spaceship near him exploded. This thing hadn’t exploded for two or three hundred years, but it happened to explode just as he was about to crush an Elite Sting Scorpion’s head.

A minute and twenty seconds in, the spaceship began showing minor signs of disassembly, and right near a fissure, Su Xiao stumbled.

Two minutes and six seconds into the fight, the spaceship’s emergency repair program activated, and a wrench was ejected, striking Su Xiao on the head.

The worst part was, Su Xiao was aware of the wrench flying his way and had attempted to dodge, but the wrench flew in a curve, and even at an extremely fast flying speed.

It was as if the entire spaceship started targeting Su Xiao, no, the entire world was targeting him.

Once or twice might have been an accident, but it was impossible for thirty-odd consecutive times to be an accident.

Su Xiao held his sword standing in place, his eyes scanning his surroundings.

An Elite Sting Scorpion charged at him, its large pincers attacking Su Xiao from the tail end.

Su Xiao blocked with Dragon Slash in front of him.

Clang.

The scorpion’s tail struck Dragon Slash, a force surged through it to him. His body was pressed down, maintaining his balance of gravity.

While blocking the Sting Scorpion, he kicked towards its leg armor.

With a crack, green fluid splattered as one of the Sting Scorpion’s legs was kicked off.

The other Sting Scorpion lunged, Su Xiao shifted his body to evade, seizing the moment to grab the Sting Scorpion’s tail with his left hand.

With all his might, he swung, hurling the Elite Sting Scorpion away, it crashed against the spaceship’s metal wall, leaving a huge dent.

The whistling of wind attacked from behind, and Su Xiao twitched his mouth as he leapt from the spot.

Clang!

A metal beam weighing several tons fell from the air. If he hadn’t dodged in time, he would have been crushed under it.
