Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 477: Revised: Chapter 49: Strange Combination

”Are you sure this is the right way?”

Old Bar walked cautiously in the explosion zone, with Su Xiao and Bubu Wang ahead of him.

After absorbing the regeneration egg, his condition stabilized, making him more afraid of death.

Su Xiao had spread gunpowder on the way in advance and asked Old Bar whether the exploding ants would move once they tunneled underground. The answer was no.

Walking in the explosion zone, Su Xiao turned his head to Old Bar: ”You didn’t prepare a retreat before?”

Old Bar shook his head, smiling wryly.

”No, the original seed severely eroded my sanity. At that time, all I thought about was how to obtain the regeneration egg.”

Having said this, Old Bar sighed.

”Ha~ You might not believe it, but this is my sixth time trying to steal the regeneration egg.”

Old Bar looked at the mother nest, as if recalling something amusing.

”The insect tribe never invaded us; for hundreds of years, it’s been the Yasenman Tribe actively attacking the insect tribe.”

Su Xiao wasn’t surprised by Old Bar’s words.

The regeneration egg was the only way out for the Blood Vine Warriors, so it’s not strange that the leaders of the Yasenman Tribe have always sought to capture such a resource.

As they talked, they walked out of the explosion zone, and Old Bar turned to look at the mother nest again.

”The war with the insect tribe is about to end.”

Old Bar stood where he was, gazing distantly at the mother nest.

”Previously, I met with the Queen of the Insect Clan, and from her tone, she plans to leave. She must have sensed the ’Cold Disaster’ is coming, and the Yasenman Tribe may not survive it.”

”Cold Disaster?”

”Yes, without the Cold Disaster, there wouldn’t be any Blood Vine Warriors.”

They headed toward the Yasenman Tribe, chatting as they walked.

”If only fighting the insect tribe, there’s no need for a ceremony to become those damn ’Short-lived Warriors’.”

Old Bar’s teeth clenched tightly.

”Oh? The Blood Vine Warriors weren’t created to fight the insect tribe?”

”Of course not; what are they?” He laughed and shook his head, continuing, ”The Queen of the Insect Clan has always thought we aren’t her opponents, but she doesn’t know that if it weren’t for the mother nest producing regeneration eggs, and that it can’t be enslaved, we would’ve wiped them out long ago. The Blood Vine Warriors have been around for thousands of years, and the insect tribe only arrived a few hundred years ago. The queen might also sense the thing in the Black Forest is stabilizing and showing signs of awakening. Summer is ending, and a bone-chilling winter is coming, so it’s wise to leave this island.”

Old Bar didn’t say what was in the Black Forest, but he wasn’t spreading alarmist theories.

The Yasenman Tribe settling in the red soil area itself was very abnormal; they could reach the ordinary area just by crossing the cliff stone bridge.

The environment in the ordinary area is excellent, with plenty of fresh water and food. Although there are more wild beasts, to the Yasenman Tribe, those beasts are food.

Yet the Yasenman Tribe chose not to enter the ordinary area, residing instead in the harsh red soil area.

The ordinary area is bordered by the Black Forest, and should anything happen in the forest, the ordinary area would suffer first.

Residing in the red soil area is different, surrounded by cliffs with only one natural stone bridge as the passage, making it a natural ’fortress.’

”The Queen of the Insect Clan has never seen or cared about our ancestors’ warnings. To her, this is just a remote island on a remote planet, incomparable to the void, but she doesn’t know we, the Yasenman Tribe, were once a void race as well.”

Su Xiao paused in his steps, looking at Old Bar with eyes gleaming.

”Surprised? These things aren’t supposed to be spread. Now, considering whether the Yasenman Tribe can survive this calamity is uncertain, so there’s no harm in saying it.”

Old Bar looked to the sky, his cloudy old eyes filled with helplessness.

”We are guardians, sent by a king in the void to guard here for thousands of years. On this barren island, we’ve gradually lost civilization, lost technology; our tribe members are becoming more like primitive people. Leaving this island’s constraint is impossible for us to develop.”

Old Bar sighed.

”Forget it, saying these things is meaningless anymore. Let’s take you to see the ceremony. You adventurers always make baffling requests.”

Su Xiao pondered Old Bar’s words.

Before, he thought the Devouring Island centered on the war between humans and the insect tribe, but it doesn’t seem to be the case now.

The Yasenman Tribe is not native to the island; they are foreign guardians watching over something or some creature on the island.

”Since you have the strength to wipe out the insect tribe, why not enslave them and mass-produce regeneration eggs?”

Old Bar, walking ahead, shook his head.

”The cost is too high. If it’s not for the Cold Disaster, we won’t use it, absolutely not, never!”

Old Bar stopped talking, walking silently like a gourd.

”Wait.”

Su Xiao halted, and Old Bar frowned, expecting Su Xiao to question him further.

”Someone is approaching.”

Su Xiao placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. Old Bar, though not fully trusting of Su Xiao, knew he wouldn’t joke about such things.

The roar of an engine came, and a three-row armored vehicle came into view. Even without thinking, it’s obvious that the ones driving the armored vehicles are Contractors.

Inside the armored vehicle, a bearded man leaned on the back seat, sitting next to a female Contractor, his hand wandering inside her clothes.

”Brother Old Black, there’s someone ahead.”

The skinny driver spoke.

”Natives or Contractors?”

The bearded Old Black pulled his large hand out of the female Contractor’s clothes, pinching the scruffy beard on his chin.

Old Black wasn’t actually black-skinned, just a bit darker, and with that full beard, everyone called him Old Black.

”A native and... a Contractor!”

”Hmm?”

Old Black straightened up, looking out through the side window.

There were six people in the armored vehicle, five men and one woman, and this vehicle was probably carried using space compression technology.

”Black, don’t bother with them. Leaving the red soil area quickly is the main thing; we haven’t eaten all day, and if it weren’t for that dead fool, we wouldn’t lack food.”

The female Contractor next to Old Black spoke; her tone was fawning, indicating her low standing among them.

”They’re carrying food and fresh water.”

Old Black saw the jerky and mountain spring water Bubu Wang was carrying.

”Great.”

”Rob them.”

Several Contractors took out their weapons.

”Old Black, don’t create extra trouble; leaving quickly is most important.”

An old man sitting alone in the last row of the armored vehicle spoke, munching on a biscuit as he talked.

The sound of chewing filled the car, and even Old Black swallowed his saliva; they hadn’t eaten in a day.

”Master Iron, food is scarce...”

Old Black started to speak, but noticed Master Iron coldly staring at him.

A surge of anger rose in his heart. If comparing strength, Old Black could pound this old guy into meat paste.

But Old Black dared not; if this old man lost even a hair, his leader would chop him up for a drink.

”I said don’t mind them; didn’t you hear?”

Master Iron finished the biscuit and leisurely took a sip of water.

”Got it, Master, we’re leaving.”

Old Black took a deep breath, suppressing his inner rage.
