When Su Xiao saw [Skill 9: ???], his vision started to blur.

Previously, he thought it was Luck that he escaped the tiger’s mouth, but now it seems not to be the case.

Su Xiao is not clear on what an Overlord-level creature is, but the effect of [Skill 1] alone is enough to instill fear.

When exploring other creatures, the situation Su Xiao fears most is encountering a pile of question marks; the more question marks there are, the more significant the disparity in power between him and that creature.

...

After flying a short distance, Sky Overlord Bahamut began to descend. Su Xiao sighed in relief; if Bahamut had taken him to the Black Forest, he might as well have jumped down from a thousand-meter height to try his Luck.

The place where Bahamut landed was a steep mountain, hundreds of meters above ground. The mountain was almost vertical on all sides, and climbing it was nearly impossible, or at least most wild beasts couldn’t do it.

There was an open space at the top of the mountain, next to it a large cave with claw marks around the entrance, clearly excavated by the Pterosaur Bahamut.

Bahamut threw the corpse of the Savage Horned Beast onto the open space in front of the cave and let out a low growl into the cave.

Two small creatures, about one meter long, dashed out of the cave; these were two young Bahamut, so young they couldn’t even fly yet.

Although terrifying when grown, they were still clumsy, often tripping and falling frequently.

Notably, the life energy of the Savage Horned Beast was tenacious; even now, it was still breathing, with its heart faintly beating. If it hadn’t been alive, Bahamut would not have chosen to feed it to the young Bahamut.

This Savage Horned Beast was still conscious, and it shed tears.

The two young Bahamut charged at the Savage Horned Beast, unfazed by its massive size, and began to Bite, their bright teeth leaving bloody marks, naturally displaying the demeanor of an Overlord creature.

The sound of gnawing came from outside, and Su Xiao, inside the body of the Savage Horned Beast, was breaking into a cold sweat.

He could be sure that if discovered, he would surely die; against the Pterosaur Bahamut, he had less than a one percent chance of victory.

As the body of the Savage Horned Beast was gradually gnawed through, fortunately, the two young Bahamut didn’t eat much, preferring only the prime meat of the Savage Horned Beast.

Su Xiao, inside the Savage Horned Beast, breathed a sigh of relief; the situation was perilous, he had seen the teeth of the young Bahamut, luckily, they didn’t notice him.

After eating their fill, the two young Bahamut began to frolic in the open space while the adult Bahamut gazed at the corpse of the Savage Horned Beast.

Having eaten a Forest Python earlier in the Black Forest, it had no appetite for more.

The adult Bahamut easily picked up the Savage Horned Beast’s corpse and lightly tossed it, causing the ton-heavy Savage Horned Beast to be thrown down the cliff.

Soon after, a dull thud echoed from below the cliff, where the Savage Horned Beast had been smashed into a pulp.

The adult Bahamut lay down on the open space at the mountain’s peak and soon fell asleep.

On the sheer cliff beside the mountain, Su Xiao clung to a rock ledge, his fingers hooked like claws.

He had long expected the Savage Horned Beast’s body would either be tossed off the cliff or eaten by the adult Bahamut.

If it were the latter, he would be doomed, whereas the former held hope for survival.

After narrowly escaping exposure as a Hunter, being ambushed by enemies, brutally plotted against, attacked by wild beasts, and taken by Bahamut, Su Xiao finally experienced a bout of Luck when the adult Bahamut didn’t eat the Savage Horned Beast.

Although still perilous, suspended on a cliff hundreds of meters high, Su Xiao had escaped the tiger’s mouth and reached the tiger’s claw.

Now, he couldn’t relax as Bahamut was above, and this Overlord-level creature undoubtedly had powerful Perception. Since earlier, Su Xiao had only moved when he jumped out of the Savage Horned Beast’s body, remaining still otherwise, even slowing his breath and heartbeat.

It’s not that Su Xiao was timid, but given the current situation, any carelessness would lead to death.

Silently extending the Boundary Line, he secured the Hook Lock to the mountain, and Su Xiao began to remain motionless.

A protruding rock above him provided cover, ensuring Bahamut couldn’t see him even after flying overhead, creating an excellent hiding spot.

The long wait began, and six hours later, hunger pangs started gnawing at Su Xiao’s stomach.

Ten hours later, Su Xiao was starving, questioning his existence, having expended much energy during previous battles and urgently needing replenishment.

In the absence of combat, Su Xiao could go four or five days without food, but it would weaken his combat strength.

Despite the hunger, Su Xiao continued to endure.

An hour later, his endurance didn’t bear fruit as another adult Bahamut flew back—the mountain top housed a ’family of four.’

The returning Bahamut was larger, more vibrantly colored, with an orange-yellow body and protruding wing bones adorned with natural black patterns.

Before the adult Bahamut at the mountain top could leave, another one returned, leaving Su Xiao quite helpless.

How often do these Bahamut hunt for food? If once every ten days or half a month, Su Xiao would surely starve to death here.

However, lingering there might allow him to pass the survival trial. As long as he didn’t die of thirst or hunger, Su Xiao was certain no other creature would dare approach here.

Fortunately, the scenario of Bahamut not leaving every ten days or half a month didn’t occur. Two hours later, the two adult Bahamut let out a few cries and flew away from the mountaintop.

Su Xiao sighed in relief; just as he was about to climb down, a thought struck him.

Pterosaurs are also Dragons, and legend has it that dragons have a penchant for hoarding treasures. Perhaps there might be something valuable in the cave at the mountain top?

He glanced at the two adult Bahamut already flying far away, ensuring they wouldn’t return soon.

Climbing to the mountaintop, Su Xiao quickly made his way toward the cave.

Plop, plop, plop...

The quick sound of footsteps came from within the cave as the two young Bahamut ran out.

The two little creatures stared at Su Xiao in confusion, seemingly having never seen a human before, yet as offspring of Overlord-level creatures, they naturally possessed fearlessness exceeding ordinary creatures.

The two young Bahamut bared their teeth and charged at Su Xiao, who kicked them aside one by one.

The two young creatures rolled away like pumpkins, the slightly larger one even developing a panda eye.

The two little creatures were evidently dumbfounded by the hits and dared not approach Su Xiao again for the moment, their four beady little eyes seemed to say, ”You just wait until our dad gets back.”

Su Xiao chuckled softly; while he might be no match for an adult Bahamut, he could easily handle the young ones.

It proves that no matter how powerful a creature is, it remains fragile in its youth.

While Su Xiao could kill the two young Bahamut, he chose not to, as that would be courting death.

Killing the young of a flying-capable Overlord-level creature on an isolated island is utterly foolish.

Su Xiao quickly stepped into the cave but emerged within thirty seconds.

Pterosaurs and dragons might not be the same species, for besides a pile of dry grass, the cave held nothing else.

Su Xiao just exited the cave to see the two young Bahamut squeezing in a rock crevice, fighting over something to eat.
