Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 474: Chapter 46: Keep Going

The Mother Nest, inside a spacious passage.

Old Bar and Karlo were in a confrontation, with waves of heat rolling off their bodies. They had just fought a life-and-death battle, and the meat walls around were full of large charred patches. The pungent smell of burnt flesh wafted through the passage.

”Comrades, vengeance, Paradise, death.”

Karlo’s mental state was even more unstable. What was once merely rigid had now developed into a blank stare.

”Failure.”

Old Bar tore off his already charred arm, which gradually regenerated. He coldly stared at Karlo.

”Karlo, no, Contractor #12963, I give you one last chance to answer me. Does my son’s consciousness still exist?”

Old Bar’s eyes showed a pained look, as if viewing someone familiar yet unfamiliar.

”Heh, haha.”

Karlo showed a stiff smile, with plant roots writhing beneath the dry skin of his cheeks.

”Your brat, has long been... devoured by me. Paradise... is not something you natives can offend.”

Receiving a clear answer, Old Bar closed his eyes in pain, with the tears in his old eyes evaporating before they could fall. That was to be his heir, his most satisfactory son.

Old Bar certainly had a vicious side, yet that son was special, born with the woman he loved most.

”You pig-headed idiot!”

Old Bar roared without regard to his skyrocketing body temperature, rushing full speed at Karlo.

Kaka.

The plant roots on Karlo’s face surged, his eyes transforming into two small suns.

”Wrath of the Sun!”

Whoosh!

A wave of heat spread out, and Karlo spat out a seed the size of a chicken egg. This seed floated in midair, radiating terrifying heat.

Old Bar’s forward charge halted, extending his arms forward to form a Vine Shield, attempting to block the heat wave.

”What a show.”

Su Xiao peeked out from behind a passage, with Bubu Wang squeezed beside him, both only showing their heads.

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang instinctively wanted to open the storage space for popcorn, cola, etc., but its small storage space was already sealed.

Su Xiao was not planning to interfere in the fight between Old Bar and Karlo for now. From the current situation, it seemed Karlo had the advantage, but that wasn’t the truth. If Old Bar were so easily defeated, he wouldn’t qualify as the leader of the Yasenman Tribe.

The hidden task [Sun Tribe] still required Old Bar for guidance, so he couldn’t die yet.

On the other side of the corridor, two small heads also peeked out.

”Ada, they’re having an internal conflict.”

The Queen of the Insect Clan laughed wickedly, as if watching a dog fight.

”Good that they’re fighting among themselves, let them battle, and once one of them is dead, we’ll step in.”

Although Ada was not dead, she was still in the recovery phase.

”No, the one with the knife is right across.”

The Queen of the Insect Clan extended a slender finger, pointing to the opposite side.

Ada looked in the direction the Insect Girl indicated and instinctively ducked her head, apparently traumatized by Su Xiao’s beheading move.

”This freak who loves chopping heads, shall we retreat? The Mother Nest is so big, he can’t catch us.”

Although Ada had fought Su Xiao, they were not enemies by grudge, only by opposition.

Enemies and grudges are fundamentally different; a grudge must be resolved through destruction, while enemies are confronted only when paths cross.

Ada had an impressive demeanor, but the next time they met, Su Xiao would not show mercy. Reincarnation Paradise is not a place for romance—only friends or foes. Seeking a partner in Reincarnation Paradise is the most foolish choice.

Moreover, with Su Xiao’s character, his first thought upon seeing a Female Contractor is not whether to flirt but whether they can be cut down. Those who think otherwise often meet grim ends.

”Shall we retreat?”

The Insect Girl looked at Ada, the two had become inseparable friends.

”Good idea, let those awful men fight among themselves, and we’ll hide in the lower levels of the Insect Nest.”

While they were talking, Ada instinctively pulled her head back, dragging the Insect Girl behind cover.

Su Xiao set down the Spider Queen Sniper Rifle in his hand; the distance was too close, making it hard to block perception.

The Insect Girl and Ada planned a strategic retreat; as long as Su Xiao and his party didn’t cause large-scale destruction in the Insect Nest, they wouldn’t reappear.

”Those detestable fellows, one of the Regeneration Eggs was stolen by that old native, we were careless.”

The Insect Girl felt a bit unwilling, but she understood Ada’s strength, hence understood Su Xiao’s strength as well. Ada and the Insect Girl had sparred as friends before, resulting in the Insect Girl being humiliated without summoning subordinates, of course.

Facts proved, the Insect Girl had decent command ability and an astonishing charm attribute, but her independent combat ability left much to be desired.

”Don’t dwell on useless thoughts, retreat first. Every 50 years, the Insect Nest produces one Regeneration Egg. For your lifespan, a Regeneration Egg is insignificant.”

Though Ada said so, the Insect Girl remained somewhat discontented.

”Are we being too cowardly?”

”Next time, you go close combat with the guy with the knife, I’ll be in charge of saving you at the critical moment.”

The Insect Girl awkwardly smiled, changing the subject.

”My subordinates found some good fruit, I’ll let you taste it later.”

...

In the wide passage, the fight between Old Bar and Karlo was intensely heated. This heat wasn’t a metaphor; it was genuinely hot.

Su Xiao lit a cigarette. The two fighters had long noticed him; he stayed hidden due to the extreme heat of their battleground.

”Ally, assist me.”

Old Bar cried out for help from Su Xiao amid the arduous fight.

”Go, go!”

Su Xiao shouted, continuing to calmly smoke.

”What?”

Old Bar glanced at Su Xiao while parrying Karlo’s attack.

”Cheering is also support.”

”Huh?”

Bang! Given a moment of pause, Old Bar was struck with an old fist, seeing stars from the hit.

For now, Su Xiao didn’t intend to involve himself in the fight between Old Bar and Karlo due to the inherent danger; those two were like bombs, ready to explode at any time.

Bubu Wang nudged Su Xiao with its mouth, its gaze seemed to say: ’Master, I bet a pack of spicy strips that the old guy will win.’

With Bubu Language MAX Level, Su Xiao nodded; Old Bar would certainly win, as he gave Su Xiao a threatening impression.

Yet, something puzzled Su Xiao: if Karlo was a Contractor, and he mentioned Paradise and related terms earlier, this was something Reincarnation Paradise did not permit.

Reincarnation Paradise has rules prohibiting mentioning anything related to Paradise to story characters.

Although Old Bar was a native of Devouring Island, according to Reincarnation Paradise rules, he would be classified as a story character.

There might be some secret with Karlo, or perhaps, Karlo was no longer a Contractor.

After watching Old Bar and Karlo’s battle for a while, Su Xiao lost interest. He had experienced too many battles, holding little interest in spectating.

Bubu Wang watched intently, its paws occasionally at its mouth, seemingly imagining virtual popcorn.

Su Xiao, hiding behind the passage, took out ”Barry’s Diary”. As Old Bar’s brother, Barry’s diary might contain some secrets.

The origins of the paper and ink were somewhat dubious; Su Xiao speculated Barry obtained this after capturing a Contractor.

Flipping through the diary, the expected Yasenman Tribe script did not appear; it was written in a language Su Xiao understood.

Every time Su Xiao entered a Derivative World, Reincarnation Paradise would charge him 100 Paradise coins. As compensation, Su Xiao mastered many world languages and, to date, had mastered 7.8 languages.
