Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

While Jernie’s students were fighting to the death against the Contaminated Beasts, players like Thunder in the Crotch were undergoing a series of training courses under Misaka’s guidance. They learned from her about the ”background setting” of this world. After understanding that this world was on the brink of apocalypse, with creatures attacking humans everywhere, and that humans could only barely survive through Mobile Cities, these players immediately felt a sense of relief, replacing it with a desire to ”save the world” right away!

But before that...

”Creating characters... I’m really not good at this...”

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, Thunder in the Crotch felt a bit speechless. According to Misaka, this world is a simple human world, thus requiring genetic adjustment to redefine new forms. If it were real people hearing this, they would absolutely refuse. But for players, it’s just changing appearances—they’re used to it!

Not to mention, the race selection in Azure Fleet is different from in Demon Beast World. Besides the ordinary Human Race, there are Orc Races focusing on agility, capable of Beastification, Half-Dragonkin focusing on strength and stamina, suitable for the role of MT, and the slender Elf Race using Magic.

Most importantly... the looks of these races are much higher than those in Demon Beast World! Even the Elf Race here differs from those elves, resembling more the elegant and noble Blood Elf form.

Really hard to choose!

As a Hunter, Thunder in the Crotch carefully looked through the characteristics of each race. Although he really wanted the ”Natural Affinity” and ”Race Incarnation” abilities of the Orc Race, the beast ears of Orc Race felt too embarrassing for a man. There are now four kinds that can be chosen in the Orc Race: cat, dog, rabbit, and fox. Whichever it is... Thunder in the Crotch finds it quite awkward!

Absolutely can’t accept this!

What’s more, the new Race Incarnation is different from before; you can’t freely choose your race. You’re limited to player races: men can only select male, and women can only select female. This way, Thunder in the Crotch’s idea of changing into a girl to be cute disappeared—though looking on the bright side, he needn’t worry about encountering gender benders in the team.

Ultimately, Thunder in the Crotch, being part of the ”Attribute Faction,” chose the Human Race. After all, this new Human Race has good looks, not the greasy white faces often seen in South Korea but a variation of forms—whether it’s dreamy young men, sexy men, or rugged uncles and pure boys, you can choose as you like. Considering his age, Thunder in the Crotch opted for a rugged uncle form and is now tweaking in front of the mirror.

”Hmm... this looks about right.”

Looking at the reflection of a man with a mustache, black hair, and pipe in his mouth, Thunder in the Crotch nodded in satisfaction. He does quite resemble Tom Cruise.

That’s settled!

Thinking this, Thunder in the Crotch pressed confirm and walked out from the changing room.

There were quite a few others in the square who had already completed their appearance selection, laughing and comparing with each other. Many chose the Human Race like Thunder in the Crotch, while some chose Elves, and even quite a few chose Half-Dragon.

As for the Beast Clan, perhaps because men found having beast ears on their heads without gender change too gross, most who chose it were women. Various cat-eared, dog-eared, rabbit-eared, fox-eared girls gathered, laughing, catching the eyes of many male players—though initially, they complained about Azure Fleet’s gender lock; now they’ve realized there’s no worry about someone pretending to be a gender bender to deceive others!

After changing appearances, players proceeded with the following steps to receive equipment. They all obtained the same ”Mjolnir Powered Armor.” However, due to different professions, the appearance varied slightly. As for weapons, players could choose either the given one or the initial weapon from the Azure Fleet.

Upon equipping the Powered Armor, players received an unlocked signal from the Azure Fleet faction, told that Azure Fleet had a unique Credit Points currency attribute. This meant that Gold Coins from Demon Beast World were useless here; players needed to complete tasks to earn Azure Fleet’s Credit Points and increase their Reputation to purchase various equipment and vehicles.

What made many Guild players envious was that Azure Fleet’s shop had ”Mothership Core” Guild buildings capable of freely flying and moving!

Wow, this puts Dalaran to shame!

Look at that streamlined exterior, the glorious, grand, radiant colors—it’s a supercar compared to a tractor!

Any Guild that obtains such a base would strike it rich!

”Woo------!!”

While players discussed at the shop and awaited further instructions excitedly, the piercing alarm suddenly blared, and task information immediately popped up in front of them.

[Emergency Task Triggered]

[Academy City Jernie is experiencing an invasion by Contaminated Beasts. Jernie requests assistance from us. Everyone proceed immediately to the drop pod for standby, and depart at once]

”Go!”

”Task triggered, let’s fight the creatures!”

Seeing this, players couldn’t wait any longer. Without hesitation, they sprinted toward their destination guided by the map. Under Little Misaka’s directions, they entered the drop pod and fastened their seat belts. Just as Thunder in the Crotch came in and strapped in, he suddenly froze.

”Wait, airdrop? We’re currently in the sky?”

”Boom!!!”

The next moment, before Thunder in the Crotch could react, a violent roar echoed, and he felt the seat beneath him tremble suddenly. Following this, a fierce sense of weightlessness surged!

At this moment, Jernie had reached the brink of collapse.

”Huff...huff...”

The blonde woman clenched her weapon tightly, staring intensely at the contaminated beasts ahead. They had given it their all, but the contaminated beasts continued to advance steadfastly. These fearless creatures left the students, who had never fought before, completely bewildered. Now, the contaminated beasts had already infiltrated Jernie and started moving towards the city district!

Once they enter the city district, all that awaits is massacre!

”No, it’s no use anymore!”

Facing these silent monsters that only knew how to advance and kill, someone finally couldn’t hold it together any longer. One student threw down their sword and turned to flee.

”We’re going to die, we’re all going to die!!”

”Waaaah!!”

As the first person ran away, the others erupted into chaos, turning and fleeing the battlefield. Seeing this, the blonde woman was also taken aback and quickly turned to look behind her.

”You can’t run, come back, come back quickly! If this continues, there’s no way we can protect our city!!”

However, before the blonde woman could finish speaking, a contaminated beast had already opened its mouth and lunged at her. Seeing the contaminated beast in front of her, the blonde woman gritted her teeth and charged forward, swinging her alchemical steel at the contaminated beast. Yet, against the blonde woman’s assault, the contaminated beast showed no signs of injury. Instead, the blonde woman shuddered and fell backward, not even landing before another contaminated beast rushed over from the side and bit down on her arm!!

”Aaaah—————!!”

Amidst the intense pain, the blonde woman screamed miserably. However, before she could finish shouting, she saw the contaminated beast pulling hard on her arm, swallowing it whole, and then slammed its mouth shut. Her legs outside struggled for a moment, then there was no more reaction, completely swallowed by the contaminated beast.

”...Seems we can’t hold out anymore.”

Standing on the tower, looking at the utterly collapsed defense line, Kalian frowned. Indeed, relying solely on them, it was impossible to resist these contaminated beasts, so there was only...

Thinking this, Kalian looked at the communication device in his hand, gritted his teeth, and reached out to press the button on it.

After pressing the button, Kalian had no thoughts left. He just stood there dazed, watching all this unfold before him. With the last barrier gone, the contaminated beasts seemed as though they were traveling through an uninhabited realm, beginning to wreak havoc in the city. Now the students were completely collapsed; some wanted to escape, and others tried to resist. But fortunately, most people were already in shelters by this time, yet even so, under the attack of these ravenous contaminated beasts, quite a few perished.

It was unknown how much time had passed, maybe a minute, perhaps an hour. Just when Kalian was ready to live and die together with the Academy City, he suddenly saw on the pitch-black night sky, streaks of dazzling firelight resembling meteors, soaring across the sky, descending from above...

”Boom boom boom!!!”

The air-drop pods crossing the firmament, like cannonballs, crashed directly onto the plaza in front of the Academy City gates, smashing into the group of contaminated beasts. Shocked by this sudden air-drop attack, the contaminated beasts hurriedly scattered. Immediately, the doors of the air-drop pods opened, and players crawled out from inside.

”Oh man, this is really thrilling!”

Thunder in the Crotch was trembling with excitement as he jumped out of the air-drop pod. He knew that in reality, he was just an ordinary office worker and couldn’t possibly experience such things. The feeling of weightlessness from the air-drop fall, the impact when landing, coupled with the atmosphere brought by the urgent mission, almost drove Thunder in the Crotch mad! He even wished he could immediately pick up a weapon and destroy the enemy!

At this moment, other players also stepped out and were taken aback by the scene before them.

”Oh my god!”

”Seriously, this bad?”

Looking at the blood on the ground and the mangled corpses, the players gasped. Knowing that this isn’t a real game, in the Demon Beast World, dead bodies simply fell over without any blood flow. But this was another world, and Fang Zheng didn’t intend to implement a gore filter or the like. Witnessing this scene, quite a few female players even screamed.

Meanwhile, lines of mission information appeared before the players’ eyes.

[Objective: Eliminate the contaminated beasts invading Jernie and the contaminated beast motherbody, head to the rescue location, and save the citizens within Jernie City]

As the information appeared, locations were marked out one by one. Seeing these, the players immediately calmed down.

”Kill beasts, let’s go kill beasts! Where’s the MT? MT pull aggro at the front, Priests heal from the back, Knights, start blessing!!”

”Members of the Dragon Roar World Guild raid team step forward! Form a defense line here and block these creatures!”

”Form a team here to go rescue people, need a rogue to scout ahead!!”

At this moment, the battle between players from another world and the contaminated beasts finally began.
