Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”So according to the mission, we received a commission from a noble to find a noblewoman, and this noblewoman went to hunt goblins?”

Inmate Aimi curiously looked at the parchment in front of her, while Musujime Awaki shrugged next to her.

”That’s pretty much it. Since this world doesn’t have mobile phones or communication devices, it’s hard to confirm if she’s safe or not.”

”This seems similar to the things we do in the Dark Side, but it’s a bit different, isn’t it?”

Yumiya Rakko said in a low voice, and Nunotaki Saiai licked her lips.

”It feels just like an RPG game, it’s super interesting!”

At this moment, the voice of the Priestess of the Goddess came from the front.

”Everyone, ahead is the mission that was taken by the lady... Oh no!”

Hmm?

Hearing the Priestess of the Goddess’s voice, the girls raised their heads and saw thick smoke and flames clearly visible in the distance.

”Did this place get attacked?”

”I’m afraid it’s goblins... Can all of you join the fight?”

”Of course.”

In response to the Priestess of the Goddess’s inquiry, Nunotaki Saiai raised her hand.

”I can’t wait any longer!”

The carriage quickly picked up speed, enduring bumps that would be impossible in a car, and soon they arrived outside the village under attack by goblins.

At this moment, the entire village was engulfed in flames. The girls could see a group of creatures, half as tall as humans and looking thin and small, waving their weapons and laughing cruelly as they attacked the villagers.

”There really are such creatures!”

Seeing this, the girls from the Dark Side were surprised and widened their eyes. If they had any doubts before, after seeing these creatures completely different from humans, their hearts immediately settled.

”First, banish the goblins from the village!”

The Priestess of the Goddess was the first to jump off the carriage, shouting loudly. Hearing her words, the girls in the back of the carriage stood up and exchanged glances.

”Well then, let’s begin.”

The village was already a sea of fire.

”Help, help!”

A woman was holding her child and shouting for help. Surrounding her were three to five goblins, wielding clubs and grinning as they surrounded her. At this moment, a petite figure descended from the sky.

”Haa!”

Nunotaki Saiai stomped on the head of one goblin like a cannonball, crushing its skull into pulp. In response to this sudden attacker, the goblins turned angrily, waving their weapons as they charged at Nunotaki Saiai. However, the next moment, their heads burst into bloody flowers, and then the goblins fell to the ground, silent.

”Leave here quickly, go seek refuge.”

Nunotaki Saiai glanced at the goblin corpses around her, her expression unchanged as she spoke to the woman, who nodded, trembling, and picked up her child to leave. However, as Nunotaki Saiai turned to look at the woman, suddenly a goblin hiding under a nearby villager’s corpse leapt up, shrieking, holding a dagger aimed at Nunotaki Saiai’s head.

For an ordinary person, this single strike would be fatal, but the moment the goblin’s dagger stabbed Nunotaki Saiai, it bounced off as if blocked by something. Then, Nunotaki Saiai turned and punched, sending the goblin flying.

”Indeed, just as Miss Cleric said, these goblins are really devious.”

Nunotaki Saiai’s ability is LV4 ”Nitrogen Armor,” which even large-caliber sniper bullets can’t penetrate. For Nunotaki Saiai, the goblins’ weapons are even less effective.

”But it really is a creature, this is the first time I’ve killed a creature... video games don’t count.”

Yumiya Rakko emerged from a distance, looked around, and as she saw goblins charging again from a distance, she immediately raised her right hand and the goblins fell to the ground.

”Not bad shooting.”

”I used to be a member of the Dark Side School, don’t underestimate me.”

As a member of the Dark Side, Yumiya Rakko is a level 0 non-ability user, but she possesses outstanding tracking and counter-tracking skills. Unlike the traditional sniper Reiji, Yumiya Rakko specializes in medium-close range sniping. Her sniper rifle is modified, concealed in her clothing like an external skeleton, and fires from her sleeve using compressed carbon dioxide.

As a sniper, Yumiya Rakko is also very adept at hiding her presence. Dealing with these goblins is almost effortless for her.

On the other side, Musujime Awaki and Inmate Aimi were not idle either.

”Help, help...!!”

A couple was trapped inside a fiercely burning house, shouting loudly. However, just as the collapsing roof was about to fall on them, their figures suddenly disappeared, soon reappearing on the ground not far away. The couple opened their eyes, astonished at their surroundings, completely unaware of how they left the place surrounded by flames.

”Alright, quickly leave here and join the others over there.”

Musujime Awaki waved a flashlight, and soon, another little girl suddenly appeared, landing on the ground not far from the couple. As an LV4 coordinate-movement Great Ability Holder, Musujime Awaki had been working as a ”Guide” for Arestar Tower, responsible for transferring others into the building, so for her, this was quite normal.

”Thank you, thank you so much.”

Though unaware of what Musujime Awaki did, people in the fantasy world generally have a strong acceptance, naturally considering this might be some kind of Magic. The couple hurriedly stood up, respectfully bowing to Musujime Awaki, then quickly ran with their child toward the rear.

”Thank you...?”

Musujime Awaki watched the couple, slightly lifting the corners of her mouth.

”This feeling... isn’t bad at all!”

While talking, Musujime Awaki powerfully swung the flashlight again, instantly seeing a Goblin that was pierced by branches screaming, falling to the ground.

Meanwhile, another group of Goblins also encountered their enemy.

”This isn’t right.”

Inmate Aimi giggled at the Goblins before her. Logically speaking, these Goblins should rush up and tear this girl into fragments, right? However, despite wielding club weapons and bows, for whatever reason, they couldn’t attack Inmate Aimi.

”We are friends, aren’t we? You wouldn’t harm a friend, would you?”

As she spoke, Inmate Aimi raised the handgun in her hand, pulling the trigger at the Goblins ahead.

”Bang bang bang!!”

With the gunshots sounding, one by one, Goblins fell, while the others hurriedly turned to leave. Yet, at this moment, Inmate Aimi’s voice resounded again.

”Wait a minute, we’re the best of friends. Would you heartlessly leave me alone?”

Hearing this, the Goblins, as if enchanted, turned back toward Inmate Aimi, who gave a slight smile.

”Since I’m your best friend, would you mind helping me? They’re going to hurt me, it’s terrifying. Why not help me kill them, hmm?”

”.........?”

The Goblins looked at each other, then let out a ”gaak,” turning to charge toward another group of Goblins not far away.

”So interesting.”

Watching this, Inmate Aimi smiled slightly.

”This is much simpler than humans.”

Inmate Aimi’s ability is LV4 ”Psychological Norm.” She can freely adjust the mental distance between herself and others. Simply put, even if both parties are strangers at their first meeting, Inmate Aimi can easily adjust their mental distance from ”acquaintances” to ”familiar friends,” to ”friends with no secrets,” and even ”lifelong companions.”

It’s because of this that these Goblins wouldn’t attack Inmate Aimi, since she had used her ability to adjust their distance to be unified as comrades.

Therefore, even among the Dark Side, people have always kept their distance from Inmate Aimi, as her ability is no less threatening than Shihou Souki’s abilities. Although Shihou Souki’s Psychological Grasp is more terrifying, the ability to unconsciously become an open-book friend and spill every secret... is indeed frightening.

Even LV5 Ability Users like Imperial Supervisor and Makino Shen Li are unwilling to provoke Inmate Aimi.

And all this was seen by Fang Zheng through the screen.

”Hmm, it seems everything is alright.”

Watching the battle on the screen, Fang Zheng nodded. Simply preaching wouldn’t work to change the minds of Dark Side girls; they need to develop awareness themselves, understanding why they’re doing things and what benefits these actions bring. If the Dark Side girls were previously merely pawns discarded by Academy City, then now, Fang Zheng wants them to feel what humans truly ought to have.

”If everything is okay, let’s have these four join the adventure team. We indeed need more hands.”

Fang Zheng casually instructed, and Kurumi also nodded.

”I understand, Mr. Fang Zheng. So next...?”

”For now...”

Here Fang Zheng paused, shrugged.

”Let’s focus on tomorrow’s Endymion opening ceremony first.”
