Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Three days later, Musujime Awaki and the other three arrived at the Quantum Research Institute to report in.

This time, the girls’ expressions seemed much more composed.

Musujime Awaki felt most at ease because Fang Zheng had already done as he promised, releasing her friend who had been detained at the Juvenile Reformatory. In fact, this was part of Fang Zheng’s original plan. District 10, where the Juvenile Reformatory is located, is the home of the Armed Powerless Group and is also known as a ”dangerous area” in Academy City. The redevelopment of District 10 was urgent, and Fang Zheng had been dispatching Guard Officers to round up all the dangerous elements from the Armed Powerless Group.

As for those in the Juvenile Reformatory who were locked up for various reasons, most of those with hidden stories were released.

This made Musujime Awaki quite emotional. She had worked for Arestar for several years, but had never dared to make such a request to him. In fact, when she made the request to Fang Zheng earlier, she had intended only to try her luck, but it had succeeded so easily...

This made Musujime Awaki rather nostalgic.

Quickly, the four were led by Rem to the Teleportation Gate area within the institute. Before long, Fang Zheng appeared before them.

”Sorry, I’m a bit busy because the Endymion ceremony preparations have started.”

Fang Zheng walked through the gate and greeted the girls.

”Have you changed your minds, or not?”

”If I had changed my mind, I wouldn’t be here.”

The blonde-haired girl in a formal dress smiled faintly and replied.

Musujime Awaki nodded.

”I’m here to fulfill the promise.”

”Rihou Takitsubo is undergoing treatment, so I have nothing to worry about.”

Nunotaki Saiai also raised her hand and said, while Yumiya Rakko on the other side just nodded uneasily with her cello case.

”Alright then.”

Fang Zheng coughed and adjusted his expression, looking at the group.

”Since you’ve come here, prepare to receive your assignment. As I mentioned, the Dark Side has been disbanded. Now, you’re joining a new organization. Its responsibilities differ from those of the Dark Side, but it also requires combat. Therefore, I ask again, are you willing to join? You still have a chance to withdraw now.”

”............”

Facing Fang Zheng’s questioning, the four exchanged glances and then shook their heads.

”Alright.”

Fang Zheng shrugged, then opened the list to verify once more.

”Then, Yumiya Rakko, Inmate Aimi, Musujime Awaki, Nunotaki Saiai... You four, follow me now.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng turned around and gestured, soon the teleportation gate began to glow, and he directly turned and walked into the gate.

”What was that?”

Staring at the teleportation gate in front of them, the four girls were somewhat astonished, but seeing Fang Zheng had already entered, they didn’t hesitate much. Musujime Awaki snorted coldly, walking up first, followed closely by Nunotaki Saiai and the blonde-haired girl in a formal dress, while Yumiya Rakko hurriedly followed at the rear.

In an instant, their surroundings flashed.

”This is...”

Looking at the prairie, the distant sunset, and the woods, the girls were stunned.

”Where are we now?”

The girls remembered very clearly; they had arrived at the institute early in the morning, but now it was almost dusk? What kind of place was this?

Meanwhile, Fang Zheng’s voice rang out again.

”Welcome to Another World.”

”Another...”

”...World?”

”That’s right.”

Looking at the four girls before him, Fang Zheng nodded.

”Let me introduce myself again, I am Fang Zheng, the ruler of the Heavenly Dao Palace. The Heavenly Dao Palace is an organization traversing various worlds, handling all kinds of situations. In simple terms, our business ranges from adopting orphaned children, protecting civilians, to saving the world. Now that you are considered part of the organization, since you all come from the Dark Side, I’ll follow their convention and give your squad a name, ’World.’ From now on, you’ll act under this guise.”

”............”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s introduction, the girls were completely dumbfounded. After a while, Musujime Awaki swallowed.

”Chairman, your joke isn’t funny...”

”I’m not here to joke with you.”

Fang Zheng glanced at the personal terminal.

”The time is almost up; I know you have many questions, but none of that matters now. You just need to undertake one mission, which I believe will help you better understand your identities and responsibilities going forward.”

Speaking as he led the four girls to the castle entrance, where Kiare, already informed beforehand, had prepared the dragon carriage.

”What, what is that?!”

Seeing the creature before them, Nunotaki Saiai widened her eyes in surprise and grabbed Yumiya Rakko beside her, who was also dumbfounded, unable to utter a word.

”This isn’t CGI, right... it really doesn’t look like a robot...”

Musujime Awaki cautiously reached out, touching the Earth Dragon pulling the carriage. The Earth Dragon snorted with a ”huff”.

”It’s alive!”

”Could it be something made from genetic alteration...”

The girls from the Dark Side had seen all sorts of dark phenomena, and even they themselves were victims of those dark experiments. Naturally, their suspicion was double that of ordinary people. However, Fang Zheng didn’t bother to explain, he just beckoned to the girls before sitting on the dragon carriage, which soon rolled down the countryside path.

”There are actually two moons here?”

”Hold on, is it possible this is some kind of large-scale projection equipment?”

”But what would be the purpose of doing that? Such a thing couldn’t possibly be for ability development.”

The four girls were deeply puzzled, discussing amongst themselves without reaching any conclusion. From their understanding of Academy City, if Academy City wanted to go all-in and create a theme park-like place, it wasn’t impossible. But the question is, why? They clearly knew Academy City was focused on ability development; whether humanly or inhumanly, experiments were conducted for superpower development and research.

So what does a theme park reminiscent of a fantasy world have to do with capability development?

They were racking their brains for an answer, but soon Fang Zheng brought them to the entrance of the Adventurers’ Guild in a small town.

”This doesn’t look like a theme park.”

Yumiya Rakko observed the surroundings carefully, lowering her voice when speaking to the others. As a sniper, her environmental observation was meticulous, so she could immediately tell that things in this small town weren’t artificially set up for environmental purposes like in a park, but were genuinely used over time. Many things had signs of life, completely unlike an ordinary theme park that only showed the good side to visitors, hiding all the unpleasant parts.

”Mr. Fang Zheng.”

At this point, Priestess of the Goddess and the others were already waiting at the Adventurers’ Guild entrance. Seeing Fang Zheng arrive, they quickly went up to greet him.

”I’ve brought the people here. Hopefully, you’ve got everything ready. You haven’t been taking commissions these days, have you?”

”Don’t worry, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Megumin waved her magic wand, although life in the new world had been fun, not being able to release Burst Magic had frustrated her greatly. Every day, she had to rush to the research site after school, to her world, and cast it over the lake to feel satisfied.

Now that she found a battlefield, she was ecstatic.

”So as usual, let’s go kill goblins for a welcome ritual.”

”Goblins again? To be honest, Mr. Fang Zheng, we’ve almost killed all the goblins in this area...”

”Once they’re all gone, we’ll switch places. After all, goblins are like cockroaches, breeding endlessly...”

While Fang Zheng chatted with Megumin, the girls behind were whispering among themselves.

”...I can’t understand what they’re saying.”

Yumiya Rakko tilted her head to listen for a moment but then gave up.

”Me neither, it’s not like Mandarin, English, nor Mongolian or Latin.”

Inmate Aimi was the second to surrender.

”Is it really a language from another world? It’s so interesting!”

Nunotaki Saiai widened her eyes in curiosity, watching the people ahead.

”Speaking of which, there is indeed such a thing as a world language.”

Musujime Awaki toyed with her flashlight as she frowned and spoke.

”But the problem is, listen carefully, their pronunciation is very similar to English, but the intonation is different... Hmm...”

After speaking, Fang Zheng turned his head, glanced at the girls, and tossed a few wristbands over.

”Put these on.”

”What is this?”

The girls curiously picked up the wristbands and looked at them.

”Specially designed communicators. With these, you can contact each other, and once you wear them, you’ll be able to understand what the people in this world are saying. Additionally, they come with a tracking function.”

Fang Zheng explained a few things, and the girls hurriedly put on the wristbands, then looked again at the Priestess of the Goddess and others. The Priestess of the Goddess smiled at them slightly.

”Welcome.”

They really understood it!

Hearing the Priestess of the Goddess speak, the girls were astounded. Her language hadn’t changed in any way, but for some reason, it was as if they had built-in translation devices; they immediately translated her words and understood what she intended to convey.

Could it be...

With this thought, the girls exchanged confused and suspicious glances.

Is this really Another World?!
