Chapter 1022: Chapter 624: Mega Showdown (Part 3)

However, halfway through its leap, the opponent unexpectedly released its bite and retreated.

”Garu yi?”

Little Kangaskhan jumped into the grass, quickly raised its head, somewhat incredulous. Did it actually force Mega Mawile to let go with its remaining Flame Fist?

Freed, Mega Kangaskhan shook its left arm. The thick skin wasn’t pierced, but the pain was intense, giving the sensation of bones being bitten through.

Elma was equally perplexed.

”Why abandon the confrontation?”

He carefully observed Mega Mawile and Baimu’s demeanor but couldn’t discern any issues from their calm expressions...

Wait a moment.

So that’s it.

Elma suddenly realized this calmness was the biggest issue. Previously, when Gengar and Milotic battled, Baimu showed fervent expressions, occasionally looking tense.

But now, that tension was gone.

The most straightforward guess—though the earlier Technique clash saw the Fire Attribute move as non-native to Mega Kangaskhan, it somewhat restrained the Steel Attribute Mega Mawile, yet facing the unexpected heat, the latter seemed unscathed.

Upon discovering Mega Kangaskhan’s offensive capability posed no threat, are they preparing for a frontal combat strategy?

His heart sank; Mega Kangaskhan needed the mother and child to unite to showcase its power. Any failed attack would drastically reduce their damage output.

In truth, if the confrontation continued, as long as Mega Kangaskhan could retract its hand, they stood a good chance...

All in all, they couldn’t confront Mega Mawile head-on!

Elma’s thoughts raced; with less than half a second passing, the opponent began issuing commands.

”Electromagnetic Levitation.”

He quickly followed up.

”Rockslide!”

”Garu!”

Mega Kangaskhan roared towards the sky; countless bright white boulders appeared, which it then launched like arrows at the levitating Mega Mawile.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!

”Garu yi!”

Smaller rocks similarly floated around Little Kangaskhan, following behind the larger boulders, sealing off its evasive space.

But Mega Mawile seemed uninterested in dodging the flying rocks, merely ascending higher while spinning wildly, using the two Giant Jaws behind as shields to smash apart every flying rock.

Bang!

Countless rock fragments and dust fell.

No defense breach!?

Elma felt suffocated, hoping to gamble on the Rockslide’s flinch effect, but couldn’t even break the defensive circle formed by the Giant Jaws!

He looked up, gazing at Mega Mawile backing the Sun, overlooking him and the Kangaskhan mother and child.

Suddenly, his eyes were dazzled by the sunlight.

He sensed danger: ”Quick, use Defend!”

Mega Kangaskhan reacted swiftly, also dazzled, as a honeycomb-like light shield appeared, instinctively protecting Little Kangaskhan behind it.

Then.

As if a meteor fell!

The terrifying explosion was deafening!

The light shield appeared fragile under the dazzling silver light, cracking and vanishing as if non-existent, the ground thunderously sank, grass and dirt rushed into the sky, making the entire field seem as if it sunk inward.

Spectators only saw an unbearable flash of light, followed by a booming sound and a powerful milky white shockwave.

A massive mushroom cloud of dust climbed skyward, with a wave of air spreading in the middle, enveloping countless grass and soil.

Thankfully, the arena’s defense systems activated in time, preventing them from getting a mouthful of dirt.

Many couldn’t react in time before the field had already been upended!
