”What’s up?” Li Yu asked.

He was indeed curious as to why they didn’t use the walkie-talkie to talk to him.

Lao Lü replied, ”I just came back to get some food to take over.

As for the matter, it seems to be about that human-powered generator. Old Qin is also up there on the wall, and he brought someone along, can’t remember the name.”

Saying this, he walked towards the dining hall.

Li Yu stepped aside and said to him, ”Alright, then I’ll head over first.”

Lao Lü nodded and bowed slightly before leaving.

After he left, Li Yu sauntered toward the wall.

A hundred steps after dinner keep you healthy until ninety-nine.

Having just finished eating, going for a walk on the wall was a good idea.

...

Eight minutes later, Li Yu arrived at the wall.

Li Yu knew that Third Uncle wouldn’t summon him for anything urgent; otherwise, he wouldn’t have sent Lao Lü on his way to call for him.

So his pace was relatively slow.

As soon as he reached the wall, he heard a voice coming from the guard room at the gate, Li Yu grew curious and stopped to listen:

”Rest assured, this can definitely resolve the issue of long-term electricity. We still haven’t figured out what powers zombie movements, but now we at least know one thing - zombies can move continuously for a long time...” a young, confident voice said.

”Bai Jie, what do you think? Can his idea be realized?” Third Uncle asked.

Huh? Bai Jie is up here?

Li Yu found it strange.

”I don’t understand how lathes work, so I won’t suggest any ideas.

But looking at the current situation with zombies, we have yet to find the energy code for their movement. Although from what Professor Ma Di has said, the first zombie was injected with elements extracted from the Outer Heaven Meteorite, which was then used to develop the Anti-Cancer Drug.

Why we won’t discuss it for now is one thing, but they can indeed move continuously.

The prerequisite for sustained movement though, is that they should be in dark spaces as much as possible.

Plus, our research has found that the damper the environment, the faster and more sensitive these zombies move.

The most critical issue is safety.

But this can be managed by removing the zombie’s teeth and implementing protective measures. There should be no problem.

In summary, my view is that just looking at generating electricity through zombie movement, if simply having zombies move can generate electricity, then it’s feasible!”

Li Yu listened quietly and was already somewhat surprised by what he heard.

What kind of genius idea was this?

Using zombies to generate electricity through labor!

Could this be extended to treat every zombie as a robot that doesn’t need recharging?

Tsk tsk!

What a brilliant idea! Before his rebirth in the post-apocalyptic world, no one had ever dared to think so boldly, at least he hadn’t heard anyone propose this before today.

But Li Yu also had his doubts, as the current zombies possessed no consciousness.

They were driven to act out of a basic need for food.

When they see people or animals, or their own dead kind, they move and bite.

Otherwise, when there are no people around, they move aimlessly and slowly like they are in standby mode.

How can zombies be made to obediently generate electricity?

This is a big problem.

Third Uncle had clearly considered this issue too, so he asked, ”Even if zombie movement is resolved, how will you make zombies listen to you and move accordingly to generate electricity?”

”That’s a minor issue.” The young man next to Old Qin spoke up, his face brimming with confidence.

”This can be done with a lathe, then by binding the bodies of zombies. Just place a piece of meat in front of them, and these zombies will move their legs. After binding their feet, kinetic energy will be produced, which can be converted into electrical energy.

All it takes is a simple installation, just like He Bing did back then with two wheels and a generator to make a human-powered generator.

Similarly, using a lathe and a generator, just give me some things to secure the zombies, and I can make it.

There’s no need to worry about this at all.”

Old Qin next to him also spoke up, ”Cough cough, captain, don’t judge Zhou Ran by his youthful appearance; he’s actually thirty-two, the chief expert in our factory, graduated from a renowned university, and is a Doctor of Engineering.”

Third Uncle looked at Zhou Ran in surprise, as Zhou Ran looked no more than thirty.

Then he said, ”What I’ve heard sounds quite good, let’s wait for Xiao Yu and see what he thinks.”

Outside the door, Li Yu stepped in.
