Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 764: Chapter 586: Corrosion by Acid Rain (Added 2/7, two-in-one)_2

”Alright, Director Li,” He Chao noted down in a small book.

”Does anyone else have any new ideas?” Li Yu asked with a smile at the corner of his mouth. The two suggestions just made were both very good.

...

The group came up with a few more ideas, some of which Li Yu thought were inappropriate, and others feasible.

The inappropriate suggestions mostly involved safety concerns.

Furthermore, making bows and arrows would require some sharp knives and axes as well as additional grinding equipment.

Therefore, Li Yu specifically emphasized that a record must be kept of every tool that was taken, and upon their return, not one could be missing.

Half an hour into the meeting like this.

Li Yu, smiling, assigned tasks for everyone and told them to organize accordingly.

He urged He Bing and Li Hang to quickly set up the manual power generators and instructed Li Tie, Dapao, and others to move the wood stored in the Inner City factory...

After assigning the tasks, everyone dispersed.

Those who needed to craft did so, those who needed to transport got on with it, and those who needed to be on duty did just that.

Li Yu then descended the stairs, followed by Ding Jiu and Old Lü among others.

Second Outer City.

Residential Building.

Uncle and Yang Tianlong and others were still distributing food to these people.

Seeing Li Yu walk in, these people showed excitement on their faces; every time Li Yu came, he would bring them surprises.

Now they looked at Li Yu with anticipation.

Under their expectant gazes, Li Yu did not disappoint them.

He began, ”Lately, with the weather being so hot, to avoid the high temperatures, all you could do was stay in the cramped rooms. Some of you, even a dozen grown men in a single room. Indeed, that’s unbearable.”

These words voiced everyone’s own thoughts – bringing up the problem meant he intended to solve it.

”Long live Director Li!”

...

It wasn’t clear who shouted this first, but soon, everyone joined in chorus.

”Quiet, there are zombies outside!” Li Yu scolded.

Shh—

Everyone quieted down, listening to Li Yu’s arrangements.

”Since you live in this building, apart from the first floor, there are four more floors, so I plan to have He Chao allocate you guys in a bit. So you won’t have to squeeze so many into one room, and everyone can have more space.”

Buzz—

Suddenly, everyone started to discuss excitedly again.

Their flattering words about Li Yu reached his ears.

Cough cough.

Li Yu coughed to get their attention and then continued, ”Quiet down, folks, there’s something else I need to tell you besides this.

In the past period, in order for everyone to cool down and escape the heat, we’ve been running the air conditioning. The base is mainly powered by photovoltaic energy, and it’s been raining continuously, so replenishing our energy source is a big issue.

Since there’s not much for you all to do here, I’ve found something for you to stay busy with and to kill some boredom.

1. We have some manual power generators around here, and when the time comes, you will listen to instructions and generate power.

2. There are some bows and arrows that need to be made, and we’ll be bringing the materials inside shortly.

...”

Li Yu fluently spoke of six tasks in one breath, these six tasks covering all hands, ensuring that everyone had something to do.

After hearing this, the crowd was momentarily stunned.

But most of them, after listening, showed no resistance. Not having to fend against zombies and taking refuge in this safe place, it was reasonable to contribute.

Seeing they said nothing, Li Yu cheerfully said, ”If anyone has any objections, feel free to voice them.”

Seeing Li Yu like this, they instantly remembered how he had dealt with Bai Tao and the others before.

A chill rushed up from the soles of their feet to the top of their heads in an instant.

”No, there is no problem at all. How could there be a problem? You provide us with such a safe place, and food; it’s only right that we should work.”

”Exactly, exactly, it feels unsettling to not be doing anything.”

”Director Li, just give us your orders...”

...

Voices like these were heard incessantly.

Li Yu nodded and said, ”Alright, since no one has any objections, let’s do as I said. Also, Xiao Hu, Zuo Ruxue, and you other extra staff, manage well. Among the tasks just now, there are also some arranged for you.”

”Yes, Director Li.”

All the extra staff nodded in agreement.

Li Yu left the Residential Building with a smile.

After greeting Uncle, he instructed Old Lü and Ding Jiu to help out here, and then Li Yu departed from the place.

...

On a rainy night.

Every two or three hours, a grating mechanical sound would resound above the Big Camphor Tree fortification wall.

This noise was the sound of the Mobile Switch Blade sliding.

Second Uncle, on the fortification wall, gazed into the boundless black night, murmuring, ”How long is this rain going to last...”

Inner City Villa District.

Li Yu, who had just returned, looked towards the horizon and murmured, ”This rain, it’s bound to last much longer...”

...

Three hundred kilometers away from them.

Tai City.

Nearly a hundred thousand zombies, in a formidable procession, were heading south.

Wherever they went, it was like the aftermath of a locust plague; not a blade of grass remained.

In the acid rain, more and more zombies joined this nearly hundred-thousand-strong Zombie Tide.

Increasingly many, like a snowball gathering size as it rolls along.

They congregated together habitually in the acid rain, just like ants.

Like streams that converge into rivers, the rivers grew larger and larger...

...

Juzi Island Head.

Days of continuous acid rain had significantly raised the river’s water level.

Relying on their location, although many zombies swam over to beneath their walls, most were swept away by the swift currents.
