Li Yu walked over while shooting at the people inside the vehicle.

Even those who looked dead and motionless, he did not hesitate to give them another shot.

Now that the base could produce bullets, they could afford to use this extra one.

”Brother Yu, there’s a live one here,” Dapao shouted excitedly.

Li Yu slowly walked over.

This person was hidden next to a vehicle by the road. Judging by the blood on the ground, they must have been in the car that was shredded by the heavy machine gun; this person was lucky not to have died on the spot.

But there was a gaping wound the size of half a bowl at their waist, with intestines and some organs visible.

Everything inside was a mess.

Usually, if someone is hit by a heavy machine gun, death is certain.

A word could describe the power of a heavy machine gun.

Exploding!

As in, if someone was fully hit, they would explode on the spot like a water balloon.

Even their limbs couldn’t be collected in their entirety.

Because they were all blown into pieces.

This person was extremely lucky to have survived the heavy machine gun fire.

Apparently, it had just grazed his waist, thankfully.

But he didn’t look like he would live much longer.

At this time, found by Dapao, blood still oozed from the corners of his mouth.

”Save me, save me, please save me,” the person begged with blood in his mouth, speaking with difficulty.

Li Yu squatted down, picked up the firearms on the ground, and then reprimanded Dapao: ”Didn’t you see them?”

”I saw them, I was about to pick them up,” Dapao said.

Li Yu pointed at Dapao and said, ”Then why didn’t you pick them up immediately? A lapse in a battlefield is a life lost.”

He shouted with rage straining his voice.

Seeing Li Yu so angry, Dapao scratched his head and said, ”I’m sorry, I was just about to ask if there were any others.”

Hearing this, a glimmer of hope flashed in the eyes of the man lying on the ground.

Li Yu, without even glancing at the firearm he had picked up, stared at Dapao.

Then, he turned to the enemy on the ground and fired a shot.

His eyes were still filled with murderous intent.

Straight in the head.

Blood sprayed out.

Li Yu said angrily:

”How many times have I told you to be vigilant, to be careful? Have you still not taken my words to heart? Do we need someone to die here before you start taking it seriously?

Maybe because of that one second, because of the second you were not paying attention, the enemy could pick up a gun and kill one of us.

Maybe it would have killed me, or maybe Song Min, or maybe Lao Lu, or maybe someone else.

Don’t you realize how important it is?

Huh!?”

Li Yu’s expression became fierce, terrifying.

Veins popped out on his face, causing Dapao to freeze.

He looked like a frenzied devil.

He had never seen Li Yu lose his temper like this.

Not just him, but no one present had seen Li Yu get this angry.

But hearing his words, they all felt a chill.

They were already extremely cautious, but when carrying out missions with Li Yu, they were still reminded by him to be even more careful.

Deep down they thought, Li Yu’s words indeed made sense; in this post-apocalyptic world, one slip could lead to death.

Furthermore, in a team, it’s not just your own carelessness that can kill you—sometimes it can kill a teammate.

Dapao also realized this, he had always been cautious, and he had indeed seen the firearm just now.

But that gun was two meters away from the person, and he felt that the man had no strength left to crawl towards it.

Moreover, he was watching him. His own gun was pointing at the man as well.

Should the man try to crawl over, he could have easily dealt with him in an instant.

But no matter what you say, any more excuses are just sophistry.

Li Yu once said many times, in front of the enemy, the first thing to do is to disintegrate the enemy’s resistance.

First bring down the enemy, then reason properly.

No matter what, he didn’t do that, he didn’t immediately put away the gun.

Dapao lowered his head, guiltily saying to Li Yu:

”Brother Yu, I was wrong, I won’t do it again. It’s just, I didn’t ask this person if there were any others.”

Li Yu saw that Dapao’s admission was somewhat acceptable and his face eased a bit, he said:

”Understand our focus; what’s most important for us now is to sort out the equipment. Whether he has others or not is not important.

We are not butchers, or lunatics, looking for trouble from others all day long.

If they dare to show up, we’ll eliminate them.”

The last sentence was filled with a murderous aura.

Everyone present heard Li Yu say this.

They were all somewhat alarmed.

Especially old Luo, old Bi, old Yi, and a few others, who had also done some things with Third Uncle before.

But Li Yu and Third Uncle had similar styles of doing things; they were both very cautious.

However, Li Yu was different in that he was extremely decisive in killing, even cold-blooded and cruel.

Outside the base, anyone he identified as a threat, or potentially a threat, was taken out without second thoughts.

Everyone stopped talking and began to clean up the battlefield.

In fact, Li Yu wanted to make an example out of this incident.

Old Bi and the others, after all, joined later and Li Yu had given them some verbal instructions about the rules.

But now that they had come out, they were a team.

This incident would undoubtedly make them take to heart the things he had said.

A team doesn’t fear teammates who are not strong enough, but fears dragging along a ’pig teammate’ who hampers the team.

Another fear is having teammates who overestimate themselves.

Li Yu’s action this time was to tell everyone that in the team, orders are to be followed one hundred percent.

Caution! Caution! Caution!

Safety first, above all else.

Ten minutes later.

Everyone had cleaned up the battlefield.

They found 15 handguns, 4 rifles, and surprisingly, two AK47s in the back of a vehicle.

They hadn’t seen them used just now.

Everyone couldn’t help but be perplexed.

With these things, why keep them in the trunk, what were they thinking!?

Besides, there were over a thousand bullets added up.

There were also three packs of cigarettes, half of which were burned by fire.

There were also canned meat patties, not sure if human flesh or what, but they smelled particularly rancid.

Li Yu threw them away.

They at the base didn’t lack meat.

Even now, they were carrying rice wine fish and some cured meats with them.

Inside the Unimog refrigerator, they had twenty pounds of veal.

Besides, there were also three Zippo lighters.

They ran on diesel, but were still usable.

The spoils weren’t much, but better than nothing.

Finding two AK47s made Li Yu’s mood slightly less angry.
