Pokemon: Reborn As Ash, I'll Conquer Every League

Chapter 146: Chapter 146 Citrus Island

Chapter 146 Citrus Island

After the dust settled on Shamouti Island, Ash’s group set sail again.

After leaving Shamouti Island, Ash saw that his system’s store had refreshed with four items; three of them were the orbs he had obtained on the three sacred islands of Asia, and these orbs, according to the system’s description, became the tools for the three legendary birds’ Primal Reversion.

Primal Reversion can also be understood as Mega Evolution, though only legendary and mythical Pokémon species can be referred to as Primal Reversion.

These three orbs were very expensive, each costing two million points, so Ash currently couldn’t afford them.

The last item was also an orb, Lugia’s Primal Reversion tool, priced at a staggering five million points.

Also, because Delia knew Serena had snuck out, she called Serena’s mother that evening.

Of course, Serena wasn’t called back, but she did get a good scolding.

After leaving Shamouti Island, Ash and others headed towards Citrus Island. In the following days, when Ash and his group passed Sweet Citrus Island, they witnessed the collective evolution of Magikarp. Misty also overcame her fear of Gyarados and captured one.

Later, while resting on an unnamed small island, Ash and others encountered the Team Rocket Trio, who had accidentally inhaled Vileplume’s Stun Spore. While helping them search for Asire Water Grass, Misty captured another Poliwag.

”Citrus Island!”

Ash looked at the island not far away, which was the venue for the Orange League competition—Citrus Island!

”Are we finally here?”

Misty looked at Citrus Island with some nervousness.

Ash had given her information on the Orange League’s strongest Elite Trainer, and she had studied it several times. The biggest challenge lay in the Dragonite.

”Misty, the Orange League Winner’s Challenge Cup is a 6-on-6 full battle. Have you decided which Pokémon you’ll use?” Ash asked.

”I think so~”

Misty said with some uncertainty.

At this moment, not far from the boat Ash and his group were on, a rapidly moving dark shadow suddenly appeared. The shadow’s speed was so fast it created a strong gust of wind, splitting the ocean waves in half.

”Ash, what kind of Pokémon is that? It’s so fast?” Serena asked.

”That’s a quasi-Elite primary Dragonite. If I’m not mistaken, it should be the Pokémon of the Orange Islands’ Elite Trainer.”

To be honest, Ash was also quite surprised. He hadn’t expected this Dragonite’s strength to be so weak, only quasi-Elite primary, and it seemed to have just been promoted not long ago.

After a small interlude, the group quickly landed on the island.

Upon landing, the group headed straight for Citrus Coliseum. After Misty completed her registration, the staff informed her that the competition time was 10 AM the next day.

”That’s a statue of Dragonite, isn’t it?” Serena asked, looking at the statue in front of the registration desk.

She had seen Ash’s Ancient Dragonite, but she hadn’t seen a normal-sized one.

”Yes, Serena, would you like to train a Dragonite too?” Ash asked.

”Hmm... maybe not. The two Pokémon eggs I bought on Kumquat Island haven’t hatched yet, and if I have too many Pokémon, I can’t take care of them all. My mom wants to do something with Rhyhorn, so she won’t help me take care of Pokémon.”

Serena’s demand for Pokémon wasn’t high. Furthermore, she already had five, and if she added her local First Generation Starters selection, that would be six, enough for a full battle. If she had a few more, she really wouldn’t know where to put them.

”Then we can talk about it later. Anyway, whatever you want, Serena, I can find a way to get it.”

Ash was very confident. He already had two ordinary Dragonite, though they hadn’t evolved yet, they were close. Even if he wanted a Dratini egg, he could buy it through the League or get one from the system.

Led by the registration staff, Ash and his group saw the Citrus Coliseum, which resembled an ancient Roman amphitheater, and then arrived at the Winner’s Palace.

Dragonite statues were ubiquitous on Citrus Island, with two at the entrance of the Winner’s Palace, serving as guardian stone lions.

”These Pokémon statues, and handprints, belong to the honorable Trainers and Pokémon who won the previous Winner’s Cup competitions.”

....

Inside Citrus Coliseum.

Elite Trainer Drake and his Dragonite were waiting for an opponent who could defeat him to appear.

”I found it!”

”Rare Pokémon, Dragonite!”

The Team Rocket Trio appeared in the audience stands of the coliseum.

”Who are you?” Drake asked.

”Since you asked so sincerely.”

”We will mercifully tell you.”

”To prevent the world from being destroyed.”

”To maintain world peace.”

”To embody love and truth, the evil.”

”The adorable and charming villainous characters.”

”Jessie!”

”James!”

”We are Team Rockets, soaring through the galaxy.”

”White hole, a white tomorrow awaits us.”

”That’s right, Meowth!”

After reciting their lines, the three immediately hugged each other, crying profusely. It was the first time in so long that they had finished their lines; it was truly too touching!

”If you want to challenge, please go through the procedures first!” Drake said coldly.

”We don’t want to challenge you.”

”Our only hope is to take Dragonite!”

”You want to get Dragonite?”

”If we get Dragonite, we can get promoted and get a raise! Just surrender obediently! Go, Arbok!”

”Go, Weezing!”

As soon as the two threw out their Poké Balls, they heard an ominous sound.

”Dragonite, Hyper Beam!”

Boom!

”What a dreadful feeling!”
