Chapter 133 Gastly and Haunter in the Ghost Ship

”Ding, detected host has captured Snorlax, received reward: 10,000 points, Heavy Ball 10, Snorlax special rations 10 tons.”

After capturing Snorlax, Ruby, to thank Ash, specifically sent Ash’s group many pomelos and snacks made from pomelos. When Ash and the others left the Seven Grapefruit Islands, they saw Team Rockets stealing pomelos on one of the islands. After easily sending them flying, the group resumed their journey.

”Tracy, how many gym badges do I need to collect to participate in the Orange League?” Misty asked, looking at the two gym badges in her hand.

”Four are enough, but the next two Gyms won’t be easy!” Tracy reminded.

The difficulty of any region’s League challenge is determined by the Gym Leader based on the number of regional gym badges the challenger has already collected. Of course, if one is absolutely confident in their own strength, they can request to increase the challenge difficulty.

”With Misty’s strength, the remaining two gym badges shouldn’t be difficult.” Serena said.

Ash also spoke, saying, ”That’s right, Misty’s Pokémon are excellent in both skill proficiency and level. It won’t be difficult to win in the Orange League.”

”Ash, which island is our next destination?” Misty suddenly asked.

”Moro Island. The news says someone salvaged a shipwreck near this island and discovered the Orange League Champion trophy from three hundred years ago.”

Ash took out his phone and found the reported news.

Devon Corporation and the regional League were very efficient, having already solved the signal problems in Kanto, Johto, and the Orange Islands. Other regions were also under construction, and the phone Ash received earlier was finally no longer a brick.

”Huh, this phone can be used now?” Misty looked at Ash in surprise.

She knew about smartphones, but since there was no signal before, she only treated it as a camera, occasionally taking selfies.

”Signal reception devices have been set up in Kanto, Johto, and the Orange Islands. I only found out this morning.”

Upon hearing this, Misty and Serena both took out the phones Ash had given them.

Ash, on the other hand, took out a brand new, unopened one and handed it to Tracy.

Time always flies by quickly.

In the evening, Ash and the others arrived at Moro Island.

Late at night.

Moro Island Museum.

Team Rocket Trio sneaked into the museum through the skylight.

”The ancient Pokémon League Champion trophy recently salvaged is right here. We absolutely cannot miss this item, Meow!” Meowth said, flipping through information in a notebook.

”Such a treasure is hard to come by.”

”If we get that thing, we’ll find a treasure appraisal group, and then we can even be on TV, how exciting.” James said, somewhat excitedly.

”Idiot!”

Meowth couldn’t help but hit James with a hammer.

”Are you being an idiot! If we do that, our theft of the trophy will be exposed. If you want to go to jail with Cassidy and them, just go surrender yourself, don’t drag us down! Meow!” Meowth said, stepping on James’s head.

Due to the Kumquat Island Drowzee incident, Cassidy and James were once again locked up, and it was said they would be sentenced to a minimum of three years. After hearing this news, Team Rocket Trio quickly fled Kumquat Island.

”That’s right~” James said, realizing it belatedly.

”Such an important treasure should be given to the Boss. Doing so will not only wash away previous failures, but if we’re lucky, we might even get a good amount of bonus money.” Meowth said confidently.

If Giovanni knew that these three would use Team Rockets’ name to steal a worthless trophy that easily causes trouble, let alone a bonus, Team Rocket Trio’s salaries for next year might not even be guaranteed.

”Bonus money?”

Upon hearing these two words, Jessie and James’s eyes lit up, and they were incredibly excited, walking with an air of arrogance.

Soon, Team Rocket Trio found the trophy displayed in the center of the museum.

”Found the bonus money!”

James lifted his foot, ready to go up and grab it.

Meowth quickly pulled James back, saying, ”Wait, you idiot, such an important item must have very strict protection.”

Then it took out a pair of special glasses and saw the dense infrared sensor lines around the trophy, finally finding a sensing loophole in the ceiling.

After that, James was hoisted up and lowered through the ceiling’s loophole.

Once they had the trophy, the three didn’t linger and immediately ran away. The only drawback was that James, holding the trophy, left evidence of the theft in the soft mud.

The next day, news of the stolen trophy spread throughout the island.

”Oh, what a shame. I originally wanted to see the three-hundred-year-old trophy, but I didn’t expect it to be stolen!” Misty said regretfully.

”Huh, have you noticed that the traces left by the person who stole the trophy resemble someone?” Serena asked.

Ash revealed the answer, saying, ”Only those three idiots could do something like this.”

Serena wasn’t entirely sure at first, but hearing Ash say that, the human-like behavior indeed resembled James. ”Ash, you’ve already guessed that Team Rockets is behind this, right?”

”Yes, they should still be on the island now, but that trophy seems to be related to two Ghost-type Pokémon.”

Ash vaguely recalled the events related to this trophy.

The trophy was indeed from the Orange League centuries ago, belonging to a captain who truly won the championship, and the Pokémon he used were Gastly and Haunter. These two Pokémon seemed to value the trophy quite a bit.

”Ghost?”

Upon hearing these two words, Misty shivered.

”It’s Gastly and Haunter, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Let’s go find those three Team Rockets guys.” Ash suggested.

”Okay!”

Serena and Tracy agreed without much thought.

”Um, can I not go? Ghost-type Pokémon are really creepy!” Misty’s face was filled with resistance.

She was originally afraid of bugs, but because of Butterfree, her fear of bugs had largely been overcome. However, she truly couldn’t overcome her fear of Pokémon like ghosts.

In the end, Misty couldn’t resist Serena’s persistent pulling and was brought along.

The group found the three unfortunate members of Team Rockets near the dock. Speaking of which, these three guys were truly bold; they had just stolen something last night, and not only did they not leave the island, but they also immediately fell asleep, truly treating the sky as their blanket and the ground as their bed, sleeping soundly.

Upon waking and seeing Ash and the others, their nervousness led them to a self-incriminating confession. Before Ash and the others even said anything, they confessed everything clearly.

Finally, they ran away as fast as they could.

Of course, Ash had no intention of letting his Pokémon intercept them. He felt it was necessary to try and win over those two Ghost-type Pokémon.

Their ability to make a large sunken ship float, forcibly control Meowth’s mind, and finally make that sunken ship fly into the sky.

Such abilities were enough to prove that these two Pokémon possessed great potential.

Ash didn’t have much hope for the Millennium Ghost he had previously captured. That guy didn’t like to battle, and he wouldn’t force him; as long as he could earn money for him, that was enough.
