Chapter 109: Saving Respect is Not Leaving

”Arcanine, Flamethrower.”

Under Gary’s command, Arcanine Spit Up a tongue of fire towards Milotic.

”Milotic, Water Pulse.”

Milotic’s strength was similar to Arcanine’s. The power of their two moves canceled each other out, but the collision of Water Pulse and Arcanine’s Flamethrower created a lot of steam, severely affecting visibility.

Unable to see the situation on the field, Gary secretly thought, ”This is bad.”

He knew that Ash could detect the situation through Aura, so Gary, holding Arcanine’s Poké Ball, shouted into the field, ”Arcanine, come back quickly!”

As he expected, when Ash saw the large amount of steam, he used Aura to communicate with Milotic, telling her to sneak over and then give Arcanine a big hit.

The plan was perfect, but the battleground was the most ordinary kind. Milotic’s movement speed on land was simply not as fast as Arcanine’s. Arcanine gave her five seconds of reaction time, but Milotic still hadn’t even touched Arcanine’s side.

Helpless, Milotic could only use Hydro Pump on Arcanine, who had its back to her.

A stream of water as thick as a bucket hit Arcanine, causing him considerable but not fatal damage. Clearly, Gary had specially trained Arcanine for resistance.

Seeing that Arcanine had not lost its ability to battle, Gary breathed a slight sigh of relief, then recalled Arcanine. ”Go, Nidoking!”

[Pokémon: Nidoking]

[Type: Poison + Ground]

[Gender: Male]

[Level: Gym Late Stage]

[Ability: Poison Point]

”Nidoking, Take Down.”

Nidoking charged towards Milotic like an out-of-control truck.

”Milotic, Dragon Tail!”

Slap!

The moment Milotic was hit by Nidoking, she lashed Nidoking hard with her tail, and then Nidoking was forcibly returned to his Poké Ball. The Pokémon forcibly sent out was Gary’s Umbreon.

Milotic was not defeated by Nidoking’s Take Down, but she also suffered considerable injuries, so Ash also made a Pokémon switch: ”I choose you, Lucario.”

[Pokémon: Umbreon]

[Type: Dark]

[Gender: Male]

[Level: Elite Junior]

[Ability: Synchronize]

”Umbreon, Dark Pulse.”

Umbreon unleashed Dark Pulse, emitting a terrifying Aura full of malice.

”Lucario, Aura Sphere.”

Ash immediately ordered Lucario to form a sphere.

”Umbreon, run and dodge it.”

Umbreon erupted with unprecedented speed, widening the distance from Lucario, who was holding the blue sphere.

”Gary, you can’t escape. Lucario, aim at Umbreon’s front left and throw the Aura Sphere.”

After Lucario launched Aura Sphere, his body turned into an afterimage, rapidly approaching Umbreon. Umbreon’s steps faltered as it tried to evade the Aura Sphere, giving Lucario an opportunity.

Approaching Umbreon, Lucario performed the leg sweep Ash taught him, knocking him down with one kick.

Once Lucario got close, Umbreon lost the ability to fight back.

Referee: ”Umbreon is unable to battle.”

While Gary was still considering which Pokémon to send out, Ash made a switch first: ”Come back, Lucario. It’s your turn, Blastoise!”

”Kame!”

”Wow, after the super-large Tentacruel and super-large Venusaur, Trainer Ash has once again brought out a super-large Blastoise. This Blastoise is estimated to be nearly four meters tall.”

As the overlord Blastoise appeared, most of the audience couldn’t help but become curious about Ash.

To have one exceptionally large Pokémon could be attributed to good luck in training, but to have them one after another, it makes people wonder if Ash has mastered a method for large-scale breeding of exceptionally large Pokémon.

”Ash, your Pokémon are truly cheating. They’re too big!”

Looking at the giant turtle Ash sent out, Gary gave up the idea of sending out his own turtle.

It’s not scary to clash Pokémon; it’s embarrassing for the one with the smaller body. If the smaller one also gets one-shotted, that’s even more embarrassing.

”Arcanine, it’s up to you.”

”I thought you, Gary, were going to use Mega Evolution,” Ash said calmly.

”Hmph, Ash, can’t you also Mega Evolve? What, are you afraid my Scizor can one-shot you?”

The Pokémon Ash sent out just now, except for Milotic, all had a super evolution stone on them. Even the giant turtle in front of him had one on its head. Gary looked at it with great envy!

”Every Pokémon I own that has a super evolution stone can indeed Mega Evolve, but I won’t use it in this battle, Gary. Let me see how strong you are!”

”Blastoise, Hydro Pump!”

”Kami!”

Blastoise’s two giant cannons on his shoulders fired two extremely powerful blasts of water at Arcanine.

”Arcanine, Fire Blast, disperse it!”

Boom!

Blastoise’s strength was much greater than Arcanine’s, so the power of Hydro Pump was simply not something Arcanine could contend with, even if Arcanine was at full strength.

”Arcanine is unable to battle!” the referee said.

”Damn it, is the gap really that big?”

Gary even began to suspect if Ash had already become an Elite Trainer, otherwise, why would he have no ability to counterattack at all?

Ash didn’t even send out his Pikachu and Gardevoir, whom he had trained for over five years, and he still one-shotted Gary’s four Pokémon, while Gary only managed to deal effective damage to Milotic; the damage to other Pokémon was negligible.

”Scizor, I’m counting on you!”

[Pokémon: Scizor]

[Type: Bug + Steel]

[Gender: Male]

[Level: Elite Junior]

[Ability: Technician]

”Are you going to use Mega Evolution? Alright, I’ll give you a chance to save face. Come back, Blastoise, the rest is up to you, Charizard!”

Ash recalled Blastoise and sent out Charizard.

”Damn it, Ash, is this what you mean by a chance to save face?”

Looking at Charizard, who had an even fiercer Aura than the Blastoise from earlier, Gary was stunned. When Ash was talking, he thought Ash was going to go easy, but the result was that he brought out an even stronger Pokémon.

And this Charizard has too many super evolution stones around his neck!

He actually had both forms of super evolution stones ready. How annoying!

Gary felt like Ash was showing off his wealth, but he just couldn’t find any evidence.

”Saving face doesn’t mean going easy. I’m just giving you a chance to challenge someone stronger. Come on, use your Mega Evolution, and let me see if your Scizor can defeat my Charizard.”

”Ash, I hope you keep your word and don’t use Mega Evolution in this battle. Scizor, respond to my bond, Mega Evolution!”

Gary pressed his key stone, activating the super evolution stone worn by Scizor.

A white light enveloped Scizor, and then a red metallic mantis with a fiercer appearance appeared on the field.

”E-evolved?!”

”Scizor has actually evolved again! This is simply an incredible sight. Trainer Gary seems to have used some special item to make Scizor, who cannot evolve, evolve again. As expected of Professor Oak’s grandson, his foundation is indeed much stronger than ordinary people! This is simply too incredible!”
