Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

On Jiang Xinyu’s first day at work, she was actually quite exhausted and fell asleep soon after.

At eleven at night, Qian Jun drove Yao Shimin to the train station.

”Don’t act impulsively. Since there’s no feelings left, getting a divorce isn’t a bad idea.”

”I know. Don’t worry, I’ll divorce once I get back, and then I’ll return to work.”

”Alright, I’ll wait for you, and we’ll continue working together.”

Watching Yao Shimin get into the car, Qian Jun drove back.

Lying in bed, he suddenly recalled a discrepancy: Jiang Xinyu’s two children were not twins. Which meant she had another man when she had the second child.

But looking at the two children, there were still things to imagine. That would mean the two children have the same father.

Who could that man be? How did Jiang Xinyu come to know him?

From what he knows about her, she’s not a casual person. Judging by the children’s appearance, the man must have looked exceptionally good, otherwise, the children wouldn’t be so pretty.

But this man hadn’t come around. He asked Song Qingqing, who said Jiang Xinyu had already separated from the man.

Qian Jun couldn’t figure it out; since Song Qingqing knew they had separated, Jiang Xinyu must have said it.

In his mind flashed images of the two adorable, sensible children, and Jiang Xinyu’s face. He felt he could accept it.

Early the next morning, Jiang Xinyu got up and made seafood risotto. They, Niang San, each had a poached egg, while Master Shang had two.

She still felt sorry for the children at noon, hastily kneaded dough, and baked a few flatbreads. As for the vegetables, if nothing else worked, they could have cucumber salad.

After hurriedly finishing breakfast, she rode her bike to work.

At the entrance, she met Kong Mengjie and Huang Hongwei, and greeted them with a smile.

”Director Jiang, come over for a meal when you have time.”

”Thank you, Kong Mengjie, Director Huang. I’m really tied up, sorry.”

”You can bring the kids to my place, there’ll be company.”

Jiang Xinyu just smiled and said nothing. Many others also greeted her.

She tidied up the office and then washed up; there was going to be a meeting soon.

Everyone knew Jiang Xinyu was back, so at the morning meeting, everyone congratulated her.

Qian Jun came in, quietening everyone down.

Next, each director reported on the previous day’s production situation.

”Everyone knows Director Jiang has returned from her studies. She joined the Communist Party at school, and henceforth, the party branch of our textile factory will be chaired by Director Jiang. She will also serve as the party branch secretary. Now, let’s have Director Jiang speak.”

There was a resounding applause as Jiang Xinyu stood smiling, ”Our party branch will strive to develop party members vigorously, aiming for everyone present to join the party and contribute to the nation and the party.”

The applause got even more vigorous. It had been seven or eight years without new party members. Now there was finally a chance, joining the party not only was honorable but also came with a salary increase, so everyone was raring to go.

After the morning meeting, Qian Jun returned to the office and dialed Director Zhu of the Management Bureau.

”Qian Jun, what’s up?”

”Director Zhu, yesterday the county magistrate appointed Jiang Xinyu as Vice Factory Director of the textile factory. Also, please hold off on Yao Shimin’s transfer request; we need him at the factory.

He’s gone home to resolve things, give him some time.”

”Your county magistrate’s hand surely reaches far, but regarding Jiang Xinyu becoming Vice Factory Director, I agree. Let’s overlook matters beyond work scope.

Regarding Yao Shimin, I hadn’t agreed initially anyways.

I have issued Jiang Xinyu’s appointment letter here, you can go ahead and announce it.”

”Thank you, Director Zhu.”

”No need for formalities. Just work well with mutual cooperation. Also, ask Jiang Xinyu if she wants a male or female secretary?”

”Okay, I’ll ask her later and have her call you.”

Qian Jun hung up the Management Bureau call and dialed Tao Juncheng.

”Alright, I’ll have Secretary Cao deliver the appointment letter today. A talent like Xiao Jiang must be retained. We can’t let her go to your Management Bureau.”

”Yes, understood.”

Now, Jiang Xinyu becoming Vice Factory Director was a done deal.

Qian Jun was quite pleased. If they got married later, they wouldn’t part ways.

Jiang Xinyu was busier than ever, with her former work still hers, added with the party branch responsibilities, really keeping her busy.

Qian Jun came over and saw Jiang Xinyu gulping down water.

He smiled, ”How is it? Tired?”

Jiang Xinyu nodded, ”Extremely tired. It’ll take me a few days to adjust, nothing is sorted out yet. Mr. Qian, anything on your mind?”

”Yes, your Vice Factory Director position is confirmed now. Secretary Cao will deliver the appointment letter this afternoon. Also, Director Zhu asked if you want a male or female secretary.”

”Mr. Qian, if I become Vice Factory Director, what area of work will I focus on?”

Qian Jun sat across from her, smiling as he looked at her, ”The party branch is definitely yours; I plan to give you the finance department and the security department.”

”Production matters belong to Yao Shimin. I oversee logistics, cafeteria, quality control, medical office, and procurement. How does that sound?”

”Mr. Qian, let me handle security and logs instead.”

Qian Jun shook his head, ”I trust you with the finance department. It’s actually a bit beyond me.”

Jiang Xinyu wasn’t really keen on picking up this hot potato, it was very demanding.

Yet seeing Qian Jun’s smiling face, she nodded.

”Alright, we’ll announce it at tomorrow’s meeting; remember to call Director Zhu.”

”Okay, I’ll call right away.”

”Hehe, I’m curious whether you want a male or female secretary.”

”As a single mother, of course, I’d choose a female secretary to prevent rumors.”

”That’s fine, actually I thought of getting a male secretary. Let Song Qingqing follow you, and the male secretary with me. Getting a female secretary would be inconvenient for me.”

Jiang Xinyu just laughed; they couldn’t make such decisions yet.

She picked up the phone and dialed the Management Bureau.

”Director Zhu, thank you for the recognition.”

”Haha, that’s because Xiao Jiang is capable. From now on, you’ll be called Vice Factory Director Jiang.”

”Haha, but in front of you, I’m still Xiao Jiang.”

Zhu Peishan burst into laughter. Truly eloquent.

”Director Zhu, please assign me a female secretary; it’ll be convenient.”

”Alright, a secretary will arrive in about half a month.”

”Thank you, Director Zhu.”

”No formalities. Cooperate well with Qian Jun and Yao Shimin, work hard.”

”Certainly, rest assured we won’t disappoint you.”

Qian Jun watched Jiang Xinyu making the call and smiled. She was trustworthy no matter where placed.

Jiang Xinyu felt quite uncomfortable; what was that expression on Qian Jun’s face? Suddenly a thought crossed her mind — could it be that Qian Jun was interested in her?
