Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 418: 418 Troubles

”Okay.” I really admire this little girl’s abilities. Looking at the financial system she devised, it’s clear she has a profound understanding of finances. Trying to fool her would be difficult.

”Let’s start with the first half-year since I’ve taken over. After all, it’s a short period. If there are any problems, it’ll be easier to recall and resolve.”

Wang Jianshu certainly had no objections. However leadership allocates tasks is how it should be.

He also very considerately brought over an abacus.

Jiang Xinyu had learned this in a past life, and it was part of the accounting certification she took, so it was nothing difficult.

Wang Jianshu watched from the side as she didn’t even look at the abacus, rapidly tapping away at a remarkable speed.

Jiang Xinyu only went to the bathroom once and drank water twice; the rest of the time, she was verifying accounts sheet by sheet.

Especially for reimbursements and expenses, her scrutiny was particularly stringent.

For any discrepancies, she directly noted them down and folded the corner of the page.

When the end-of-work bell finally rang, she put down her pen and stood up directly.

”Mr. Wang, let’s continue tomorrow.”

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, I truly admire you. I’ve been an accountant for over twenty years and have never seen someone with your speed.”

”I was in a hurry, was I not? Thank you for your hard work.”

”It’s not hard work; it’s my job. With you doing this, our year-end audit will be much easier.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled, thinking she would outline the work tasks clearly when there was time.

She directly locked the accounts away; only Mr. Wang and she had the key, to avoid trouble.

She rode her bicycle straight to find the construction master from last time.

”Master, a friend of mine wants you to help look over their house.”

”Sure, I happen to have some time these days.”

Honestly, with this temperature, working outside is torture. But for the sake of living, as long as there is work, nothing else matters.

The two of them cycled together to Yao Shimin’s house. This unreliable guy was surprisingly punctual today and didn’t keep them waiting. He arrived at the same time.

”Sorry, I forgot the time after work.”

”Didn’t you hear the bell?”

Yao Shimin smiled, ”Didn’t pay attention.”

”I’m not going in; I need to get home. The kids will be anxious if I’m late.”

”Alright, I’ll come over to your house for dinner tonight.”

”You eat whatever there is. I still don’t know what we have at home.”

Jiang Xinyu returned home to find her husband and sons lighting the stove in the yard.

”Mom, why are you late?”

”Your Uncle Yao needed some help from me. Okay, what would you like to eat?”

”Mom, the three of us want to eat porridge.”

”Sure, no problem. Your Uncle Yao said he’d come over for dinner later, so I’ll also make scallion pancakes.”

The two kids were naturally pleased. At lunch, it was just the three of them, and they often cobble things together. Feifei wanted to cook, but she was refused, so she just directed while Shang Zhenkun did the cooking.

”Master Shang, Secretary She from the supply and marketing cooperative will bring over two buckets of sweet flour paste to the house tomorrow.”

”Alright, we’re not going out tomorrow, so we’ll wait at home.”

”And peaches too. I’ll make some peach preserves so we can have fruit during the winter.”

The two kids were thrilled; they loved peach preserves, and their mom used to always buy them some.

Even as Jiang Xinyu spoke, she didn’t stop working.

When Yao Shimin arrived, the food was already ready.

”Feifei, Shi Jing, Uncle is here to eat with you.”

”Welcome, Uncle Yao. Please have a seat,” Shi Jing said, imitating an adult.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, I’m unsatisfied with that house. If only it were next to yours.”

”I wouldn’t like that.”

”How can you be so heartless?”

”Just being honest. So, did you finalize everything with the construction master?”

”Yes, materials will be ready in the next day or two, and the work will be completed in ten days.”

”Not bad, that master has excellent skills.”

After eating, Yao Shimin burped contentedly. ”Thanks, I’m heading back now.”

Seeing Yao Shimin off, Shi Jing wanted to find Zhiwei to play.

”Sure, during the day, Zhiwei also has to go to school. Let’s go and check on him now.”

Shang Zhenkun went along as well. Before they even reached She Xiaoyun’s house, they could hear the sound of quarreling from the courtyard.

Jiang Xinyu frowned but still went ahead to knock on the door.

The yelling in the courtyard stopped, and it was Wang Tongzhou who opened the door.

Seeing Jiang Xinyu outside, he seemed slightly uncomfortable.

Normally, Jiang Xinyu wouldn’t knock at such an awkward moment, but she was worried about She Xiaoyun.

”Sister She?”

Jiang Xinyu saw that She Xiaoyun looked unwell but still forced a smile at her. ”Xinyu, what brings you here?”

”Shi Jing wanted to play with Zhiwei, so we came over. What’s going on?”

Jiang Xinyu noticed several people in the courtyard, all with unpleasant expressions.

”It’s nothing. Zhiwei, Shi Jing, and Feifei came to play with you.”

The children were terrified by the family argument. Zhiwei ran over and grabbed Shi Jing’s hand.

”Xiao Jiang, I’m taking the three kids for a walk. If everything’s fine here, feel free to head home; I’ll bring Zhiwei back later.”

”Thanks, Master Shang.”

The old man waved his hand, and Shi Jing and Feifei took Zhiwei’s hand, ready to leave. But Zhiwei stubbornly looked at She Xiaoyun, looking very worried.

”Zhiwei, you and your siblings can go play. Mom’s alright here.”

”Go ahead, Aunt Jiang is here.”

With that, the three kids finally left.

Seeing his son like that, Wang Tongzhou felt even more uncomfortable inside. He felt as if his son was blaming him for not helping his mother.

All the adults were left in the courtyard. Jiang Xinyu took She Xiaoyun’s hand, ”Sister She, what’s wrong?”

”They want us to divide this house and give it to them.”

”Mr. Wang, what do you mean? Do you also want this house to be divided?” She recalled that the house was bought by Wang Tongzhou secretly saving up over the years.

”This house was bought by Xiao Yun, not by the Wang Family.”

”That’s settled then. Sister She, really, what’s there to struggle about? This house was bought with your money. What does it have to do with anyone else? To speak frankly, even if you two were to divorce, it wouldn’t belong to Mr. Wang.”

”Xinyu, I’m just heartbroken and angry.”

”Come on, what’s the point? Worthwhile relatives are family; those who aren’t are strangers. This relationship has always been a two-way street since ancient times; it isn’t a one-sided affair.

You gave me a scare just now; I thought something had happened. I even considered asking Master Shang to go to the police station to find my brother-in-law.”

”Xinyu, it’s alright. I won’t get angry over this; it’s not worth it. I’ve learned my lesson after treating them so well for all these years, only to feed the dogs. This time, I’ve become wiser.”

”She Xiaoyun, what are you implying? Who are you insulting?”

A somewhat sharp-faced girl was staring at me, persistent and aggressive.
