Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 437: 437 arrived

This young woman doesn’t have any remarkable features, but she’s honest and tends to be shy.

Earlier, their arms accidentally touched, and it felt like she shivered a bit.

Kong Demin found it quite amusing. However, her appearance didn’t stir any feelings in him since both Meng Xiu Fen and Zheng Xiuxiang were exceptionally beautiful.

Still, teasing her is okay.

He dropped off the two of them at the Sun Family, observing that their life seemed decent.

”Hongxia, go to sleep, I’m heading home.”

”Cousin, why don’t you stay the night? It’s a fifteen-minute walk this late at night, it’s too far.”

”No worries, my mom isn’t aware I’m staying here, I’m worried she will be concerned. I’m going back, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

”Director Kong, could you please escort my cousin home by bicycle, her house isn’t close.”

”Sure, Mr. Sun, go ahead and rest, I assure you I’ll get your cousin home safely.”

”Thank you, Director Kong.” Sun Hongxia trusts Kong Demin quite a bit, given his reputation at the workplace is that of an upright gentleman.

”Cousin, ride Director Kong’s bike, it’ll get you home faster.”

”You go inside, there’s no need for you to worry about me.”

”I’ll watch until you both leave.”

With no choice, Wang Zhenzhen got on Kong Demin’s bicycle.

She gave directions from the back. Without seeing him, just hearing his voice was quite captivating.

They passed over a bump, and the bike jostled violently, startling Wang Zhenzhen, making her scream.

Kong Demin felt a shiver run down his spine from her scream.

He suddenly stopped the bike. Wang Zhenzhen immediately jumped off, ”Sorry, Director Kong, I was just scared.”

Kong Demin steadied the bike, pulled Wang Zhenzhen over, and pressed her against the wall.

”You’ve been tempting me all night.”

”No, I haven’t.”

”Yes, you have. You’ve successfully attracted me,” he said and hugged her tightly, seeking out her lips for a kiss.

Wang Zhenzhen had never encountered anything like this and was terrified, desperately pushing away Kong Demin, pleading tearfully, ”Director Kong, this isn’t what I meant, I definitely had no such intention.”

If she hadn’t spoken, perhaps it would have ended there, but her voice had a profound effect on Kong Demin, making him lose control, causing his actions to become more erratic.

Wang Zhenzhen had never faced such a situation before, absolutely frightened.

Kong Demin’s hand slipped inside her clothes, touching and squeezing.

”Director Kong, let me go.”

”How about it? Be with me from now on?”

”I already have someone.”

Kong Demin’s face showed a mocking smile; suddenly he lost interest and let her go.

”Get back on the bike, I’ll take you home.”

Feeling aggrieved, Wang Zhenzhen stood by, ”Director Kong, I can go home myself; my house is just ahead.”

”I’ll still take you home, come on.”

After returning home, Kong Demin wouldn’t stop regarding Meng Xiu Fen.

Meng Xiu Fen thought, who had he set his sights on again? By now, she understood Kong Demin very well.

”What’s up tonight? Why are you back so late? Been drinking with others?”

”Yep, Wang Dajiang and the others stewed dog meat, was drinking at his house tonight.”

”I’ll get you some water,” she said and tried to get up, but fell back down, amusing Kong Demin who laughed heartily.

On Wednesday at work, during the morning meeting, Jiang Xinyu clearly noticed Yao Shimin seemed a bit distracted.

After the meeting, the three factory directors headed out together, ”Shimin, let me drive you to the city, it’s too far for you to ride your bike.”

”That’d be nice.”

Jiang Xinyu returned to her office, leaving the two men.

”Qian Jun, you should settle down too. If you procrastinate further, you’ll regret it later; even if you marry this year, the soonest you’d have your own child is next year. Think about it, when the child is twenty, you’ll be in your fifties.”

Qian Jun lit a cigarette, ”I haven’t found anyone suitable.” Actually, he secretly resented Jiang Xinyu for not introducing him to such a good girl.

”That’s because you haven’t been looking. You know when I returned after my divorce, I told Vice Factory Director Jiang, and the lady in the union also introduced suitors to me.

If you also express your desire to settle down, there’ll definitely be many people introducing you to candidates. You never know if there’s someone better ahead.”

Qian Jun kept silent, smoking quietly. After finishing, he smiled, ”I’ll let them help me find someone.”

”That’s right, settle down quickly, a solitary life is too lonely.”

”Haha, speaking from experience?”

”Sort of.”

After work in the evening, the two finished dinner at the canteen before driving to the city.

Qian Jun got off at the hotel while Yao Shimin drove back.

Yao Shimin checked into a hotel room, lying on the bed calculating the time; his parents should arrive around ten o’clock, and he planned to pick them up at the station.

Feeling a little excited inside, knowing that tomorrow he could finally set the wedding date, and soon have a normal life.

At nine-thirty, he walked to the railway station, bought a platform ticket at the waiting hall, going to the platform to await his parents.

The train was delayed by fifteen minutes, making him swat mosquitoes quite a bit outside.

It was already ten forty when he got the elderly couple.

”Dad, Mom, I’ve brought some snacks; at this hour there’s no meal.”

”No need, we’ve eaten on the train, let’s hurry to the inn.”

Yao Shimin took their two bags, and the family of three headed to the inn.

”Shimin, you didn’t explain well; what do you think of that girl?” Mother Yao was uneasy, worrying all the way.

”She’s nice, a good girl, you’ll know when you see her tomorrow.”

”As long as you think she’s good, that’s what matters, you’ll be living together for a lifetime.”

”Mom, don’t worry, this time it’s definitely right.”

”That’s good, what worries me and your dad most now is your future.”

”Relax, her family is very nice too, her parents are very understanding, her older brother works in the police department, hasn’t married yet.”

”Get along well, that’s all.”

The three arrived at the inn in fifteen minutes. Father Yao used an introduction letter to book a room.

”Dad, Mom, rest up, it’s been a tiring journey.”

”We’ll freshen up first, discuss things in the morning.”

”Yes, Jingyi’s family invited you over to discuss the wedding date.”

”Okay, but we should at least arrange an engagement first, don’t let their daughter feel slighted.”

”You make the arrangements, I’ve already prepared the house; Jingyi should return to pick furniture this time.”

Yao Shimin helped fetch water, then retired to his room.

Early the next morning, the three went out for breakfast.

Discussing for an hour after returning, by eight o’clock, they went out together to the mall and bought many gifts, there’s no going empty-handed on such occasions.

The three arrived at the Qiao Family at nine thirty, finding the entire Qiao Family present.
