Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 422: 422 Special Funds

Jiang Xinyu didn’t have a moment to spare in the afternoon; there wouldn’t be much left today, so she’ll have a lot of initiative during the meeting tomorrow.

She didn’t want to guess what Qian Jun was thinking, but she’d already given her suggestions; it was up to him to decide what to do.

In any case, there’s no way she’s going to take the fall for this; she’d absolutely refuse.

She wonders how Wei Kaiyun is doing. His finances are probably even more chaotic than here, but hopefully, there won’t be any issues.

As soon as the end-of-work bell rang, Jiang Xinyu packed up all the ledgers and locked them away. Then she hurried back to her office.

She picked up the phone and called Wei Kaiyun.

”Hello, this is Wei Kaiyun.”

”It’s me. I’m currently checking the accounts, and there are a lot of issues with the money transactions, even though it’s all for the higher-ups, it can’t be openly recorded.”

”It’s the same here, but I have a separate ledger that records every cent that goes out.”

”We’re having a meeting tomorrow. He definitely won’t take the blame.

I’ll call you tomorrow. My suggestion is to have a meeting with everyone above section chief, and hold a vote to decide, then establish a special fund, which will lessen the responsibility significantly.”

”I understand what you mean. I’ll do the same here.”

”Alright, take care of yourself. I need to get home.”

Having received two calls from his wife that day, Wei Kaiyun felt quite satisfied; his wife always kept him in mind.

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Xinyu hurried to the bike shed and happened to bump into Yao Shimin.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, why are you leaving so late today?”

”Just made a phone call. Are you heading home to check things?”

”Yeah, I’m not sure how the materials are doing today, so I need to take advantage of this less busy time to get things sorted out. By the way, have you heard anything from your classmate?”

”Vice Factory Director Yao, you’re really anxious. I think it’d be great if my classmate even received the letter.”

”You don’t have her phone number?”

”Vice Factory Director Yao, why are you in such a rush?”

”I’ll be twenty-nine by the New Year; how could I not be anxious? Moreover, I envy seeing your daughter.”

The two pushed their bikes out of the factory together and rode off together.

Jiang Xinyu didn’t invite Yao Shimin over for dinner at her house; getting too close isn’t always a good thing.

When she got home, her two kids rushed out to recite what they’d learned today.

She made homemade noodles for them in the evening, which the kids loved.

The noodle sauce and sugar, both white and rock sugar, had been delivered. Only chili peppers and garlic were missing to make chili sauce.

There were canned jars stored in the warehouse to be washed after dinner. They could make canned goods tomorrow night.

”Mama, Uncle Lv came looking for you today, but you weren’t here, so he left.”

”Oh, I’ll call him tomorrow.”

Wondering what Lv Beiguang wanted to see her for?

After dinner, the two kids helped wash the jars and lids, although uncertain if the lids would work. If not, she’d have to go to Z County to buy more, but at this sensitive time, going out felt nerve-wracking. Thankfully, there were still two hundred new lids, so they should be enough.

The three members of the family chatted as they worked, which was quite nice.

Shi Jing kept chattering. He felt a bit upset about not being able to go out and play, staying home instead, but Feifei said a few words to cheer him up.

”Mama, can I write letters to Dad and Brother Jianbin?”

”Of course you can. You can already write a lot of characters, so you can write them letters.”

”Mama, I’ll definitely write to Dad tomorrow.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled and nodded, ”That’s great. If your dad gets your letters, he’ll be thrilled.”

Wei Kaiyun would be so happy, she could tell. He placed special importance on the kids, perhaps because he had no family of his own.

The three finished washing nearly three hundred jars and placed them on the table in the side room.

”Tomorrow, the three of you won’t be able to use the table for meals; it’s all stacked up.”

The two children found the multitude of jars rather intriguing.

”Mom, can we eat the canned goods tomorrow?”

”Shi Jing, canned goods are preserved in jars for a period before they can be called canned goods, but you’ll be able to eat peaches in syrup tomorrow.”

The three washed up and lay down to sleep. Jiang Xinyu felt pretty exhausted from the day.

A dreamless night passed. The next day, Shang Zhenkun also woke up. ”Xiao Jiang, I’ll go buy fried dough sticks, so you don’t have to make them.”

”Alright, I’ll clean up a bit; yesterday was tiring, so I didn’t tidy up.”

After eating, she went straight to work. During the morning meeting, after reporting yesterday’s work, Qian Jun stood up, ”There’s another very important issue regarding our textile factory.”

Everyone watched Qian Jun’s serious expression, feeling anxious.

Qian Jun talked about the special funding. ”We’ll vote on this matter. Secretary Song, please give everyone a paper. If you agree, write yes; if not, write no.

The success of this fund is crucial to our factory’s future policies, so please be cautious.

Of course, if the votes don’t reach seventy percent agreement, we won’t have the fund, and we’ll bear the consequences.”

After speaking, he sat down, wrote on his paper, and put it in the box.

There were only twenty-five votes; less than ten minutes later, they started counting.

Nobody disagreed; it passed unanimously.

Qian Jun felt both excited and disappointed. He wanted to get rid of those with ambition but realized it wasn’t possible.

Jiang Xinyu hadn’t expected it to go so smoothly. Although it was passed, any special fund movements in the future must be meticulously recorded by the accountant to have a clear understanding.

By lunchtime, she’d finally finished checking the accounts for the year.

”Mr. Wang, let’s eat now. In the afternoon, we’ll work on adding remarks to the special fund and get Mr. Qian to sign it.”

”Okay.” Wang Jianshu now truly admired this vice factory director. She was indeed capable.

During lunch, Jiang Xinyu ate with Kong Mengjie and Wang Ailing.

After all, it’s important to not be too obvious, or it looks bad for everyone.

”Sis, all four of you come over and help me with something.”

”No problem. I specifically told Chen Guoliang to come back early today to pick up Xiangting and return home.”

Jiang Xinyu didn’t invite them over for dinner; she truly didn’t have the time.

”Xinyu, is there anything I can help with?”

”No need, it’s just that my kids miss their sister and brother, so I’m letting their family come to my house.”

Kong Mengjie knew they were hiding things from her, but there was nothing she could say. They were showing clearly they didn’t want to associate with her.

It was something she couldn’t help; she’d already tried hard to befriend Jiang Xinyu.
