Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 426: 426 discovered

Kong Demin was truly happy, he had a son now, but this matter couldn’t be spoken of outside for the time being. No one could know about his son, or else he’d be in big trouble.

Meng Xiu Fen personally went to the kitchen to make egg soup for Zheng Xiuxiang.

”Xiao Xiang, drink the egg soup first, I’ve put a lot of brown sugar in it.

Tomorrow, I’ll go out and see if I can buy an old hen. It’s too late today.”

”Aunt Meng, luckily I have you.”

”Alright. You shouldn’t cry during your confinement. I’ll get you two sugar buns, eat more brown sugar to replenish your blood.”

After taking care of Zheng Xiuxiang, Meng Xiu Fen came over to eat.

”With Chunhua here, don’t overwork yourself.”

Meng Xiu Fen smiled, ”It’s fine, Chunhua is still a little girl, what does she know? A woman’s confinement period is no small matter.”

Kong Demin felt particularly comfortable hearing this, he was truly fortunate. His work was going well, and at home, there were two women: one young and beautiful, the other graceful and sensible, keeping the home in perfect order. And now, there was also a son.

Kong Dehong finished eating and didn’t rush to leave. Instead, he stayed to play with the two children. Today, seeing that newborn child resembling himself, he felt a bit puzzled.

Thinking about that dream he had at his second brother’s house, he now felt a bit uncertain, was it really just a dream? Why did he keep recalling what happened that day?

Could that child be his? Although he and his second brother were biological siblings, they didn’t resemble each other much.

Kong Dehong felt restless inside, so he lingered without leaving.

”Second brother, what’s your son’s name?”

”How about Kong Yaozhong?”

”That’s a good name. The name Kong Yaozhong sounds powerful.”

”Dehong, you’re not young anymore, maybe you should consider finding someone.”

”Second brother, I’m not in a hurry, maybe in a few years.”

”Not in a hurry? After seeing this child today, you’re not in a hurry?”

”A nephew is like a son. Second brother, what about this child’s household registration?”

”That’s not a problem, it’s very easy to handle. If I can’t manage this small issue, what else could I do?”

”Second brother, I’ll go home tomorrow and tell mom and dad.”

”Don’t go now, just stay put for a while. It’s not safe right now. Stay calm and no one will bother you.”

”Okay, I get it, I’ll head back first then.”

As Kong Dehong rode his bike down the road alone, he kept thinking about this child’s situation. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed that this child was indeed his.

So that meant that day he had slept with his second brother’s woman. The thought was quite scary, yet he still wore a smile.

”Stop.”

Kong Dehong was startled, ”Brother Da Jiang?”

”Dehong?”

”Yes.”

”What are you doing out so late? Hurry home.”

”Yes, Brother Da Jiang, you patrol every night? That’s exhausting.”

”No problem, I’m still young and strong. Get home quickly.”

Kong Dehong returned home still feeling very excited, lying alone on the kang. He recalled fragments from his dream.

The next day at work, he was distracted. Today at noon, he planned to find Zheng Xiuxiang to ask her, with no one else at home, he wasn’t afraid of being caught.

Finally, it was off work, he quickly finished lunch and biked to his second brother’s house.

Chunhua opened the door to see Kong Dehong and didn’t say much. She went directly to her room to lull Changjun to sleep.

Kong Dehong didn’t stand on ceremony either, he went straight into Zheng Xiuxiang’s room.

”Dehong, what are you doing in here? Get out now, you’re not supposed to enter during the confinement period.”

Kong Dehong didn’t speak because he saw Zheng Xiuxiang nursing the child, that snow-white flesh was unmistakably real.

”Dehong, get out at once.” Zheng Xiuxiang turned her body, trying to avoid his gaze, which was terrifying.

”Zheng Xiuxiang, let me ask you, this child is mine, isn’t it?”

Zheng Xiuxiang was startled, ”No, no.”

”There’s no need to panic, I saw this child yesterday, he looks just like me, not like second brother at all. How do you explain that?

And in my dream, I remembered there was a mole on your other side.” Kong Dehong pointed to the side where she was not nursing the child.

”Let me take a look, if it’s not, I’ll leave.”

They were around the same age, and Kong Dehong was better looking than Kong Demin; most importantly, Zheng Xiuxiang no longer had the feelings she once had for Kong Demin.

”Get out.”

Kong Dehong, seeing her acting so evasively, was even more determined to confirm it. He climbed onto the kang directly and sat beside Zheng Xiuxiang, watching the child continue to nurse.

Seeing her trying to evade, he reached out and put an arm around her shoulders, and at that touch, he felt a reaction.

”Let go of me, I’m holding the child.” Zheng Xiuxiang, in truth, was not good at rejecting people.

Kong Dehong ignored all that, with his other hand he lifted the side he mentioned, and truly saw the mole there.

”And you say it’s not yours.”

”Let go of me, the child is full now.”

For once, Kong Dehong listened, let her go, and watched her lower her clothes, change the child’s diaper.

Seeing she had tidied everything, Kong Dehong just sat there on the kang, watching her.

Zheng Xiuxiang remembered what Meng Xiu Fen told her, ”That day you got drunk and took advantage of me, but this child isn’t yours.”

”Did that really happen?”

”Yes.”

Kong Dehong sat for a while without speaking, then suddenly got off the kang.

Zheng Xiuxiang was a little disappointed, she had been lonely for so long, every day was spent with Changjun, and though she always taught him to speak, the monotonous days were still quite hard to bear.

Kong Dehong got off the kang, closed the door, and climbed back on. ”You say the child isn’t mine, I don’t believe you.”

Zheng Xiuxiang felt a small thrill, he came back.

”No need to say anything, I knew from the first glance at this child, my heart suspected this was my son.”

”Your second brother knows nothing about this, don’t spout nonsense. I’m still your second sister-in-law, after all.”

”You have no hope, my second brother won’t marry you.”

Hearing this, Zheng Xiuxiang felt unhappy, she simply lowered her head and said nothing.

”No need to be angry, the facts are what they are.”

Zheng Xiuxiang, suppressing her anger, blurted out without thinking, ”If your second brother won’t marry me, can you?”

This time, it stumped Kong Dehong, he didn’t want to marry either, even though Zheng Xiuxiang was pretty, but she was after all his second brother’s woman, if his brother didn’t want her, what would it mean if he married her? He was unwilling.

”With that being the case, what else is there to say? I tell you, this child truly isn’t yours, believe it or not.”

Kong Dehong thought for a moment, then got off the kang and left. He was unwilling, so he wouldn’t bother her anymore, to avoid his second brother finding out and really abandoning her. That wouldn’t be good for her, no, he needed to hurry home and have his mom find him a wife soon.
