Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 424: 424 making canned food

Woke up at five the next day and started steaming bread.

Shang Zhenkun is getting older, but he got up to help when he heard the noise, even if it’s just to help with the fire.

Steamed two pots in total and made porridge too.

The two kids were very happy to see there was bread for breakfast.

Jiang Xinyu happily went to work.

Qiao Jingyi picked up Jiang Xinyu’s letter from the reception room this morning, murmuring as she walked, been a long time since she wrote to me.

Didn’t have time to read the letter in the morning, so she put it in the drawer, as the first two periods were her classes.

After having lunch at noon, she finally had time to read the letter, and after reading it, thought to herself, she could discuss it at home, since her parents have been annoying her, and she planned to visit Jiang Xinyu this Saturday.

In the afternoon, she went to the principal’s office, wanting to call Jiang Xinyu to tell her that she planned to visit.

”Hello, Jiang Xinyu!”

”Hello, Qiao Jingyi.”

”Here’s the deal, did you get my letter?”

”Got it, just finished reading, I’ll go to your place on Saturday.”

”Sure, no problem, I’ll invite him over for you to meet, but we won’t reveal everything yet. If you like him, we can talk further?”

”Sure, I trust your judgment, I’m craving meat.”

”No problem, I’ll wait for you at home.”

Then went to rest on the bed, didn’t sleep well yesterday, and this morning was quite busy, to be honest, the head really feels a bit heavy.

Continuing with accounts reconciliation in the afternoon, this is relatively quicker, since they were verified at the year’s end, just identifying special funds and noting them.

After work, went to find Yao Shimin. ”You should come to my house for lunch on Saturday.”

Yao Shimin is especially sharp today and immediately understood Jiang Xinyu’s meaning.

”Haha, thank you.”

Jiang Xinyu rolled her eyes. ”It might not work out, maybe she won’t fancy you at all, what are you happy about now?”

Yao Shimin just laughed, and Jiang Xinyu decided to ignore him.

After returning home, the porridge at home was already cooked, so she came home and fried green beans with salted eggs.

”Should we go deliver bread to Sister Xiangting and Brother Zhiwei?”

”Yes, yes.” The two children had been cooped up at home, even though they didn’t fuss, they also wanted to go out and play.

Shang Zhenkun also accompanied them, making them much safer.

Gave Sister Xiangting and Zhiwei each two pieces.

First, they went to Wang Ailing’s house, Sister Xiangting and the others also wanted to go out and play, so Chen Guoliang had to go along.

Arrived at She Xiaoyun’s house, five kids jointly requested to play together for half an hour.

”Xinyu, you really spoil the kids, this bread, you steamed it early in the morning, right?”

”Yes, I kneaded the dough last night, steamed it this morning; I can’t cook them lunch, just make do, but breakfast must be good.”

”You, saying Yao Shimin is so great, why don’t the two of you get together, isn’t that good?”

Jiang Xinyu was shocked looking at She Xiaoyun. ”Sister She, I don’t have such thoughts. Please don’t say that, wouldn’t it be embarrassing? Besides, my classmate is coming over on Saturday; I’ll let them meet, I think they can make it.”

”You, now the kids are young, when they grow older, you’ll be more concerned, then you’ll know the hardship of being alone; haven’t you seen Secretary Lv being both dad and mom?”

”By the way, Secretary Lv came to find me, I forgot to call him. Not sure what he wants.”

”We haven’t contacted him either, don’t know what it is, probably not a big deal; otherwise he’d definitely come a second time.”

Jiang Xinyu nodded, plans to call during lunch tomorrow to ask, been really busy and genuinely forgot.

It was getting late, they left with the kids.

Chen Guoliang went to Jiang Xinyu’s side, ”Xinyu, during the meeting today, we will have to work with the Revolutionary Committee in the future.”

”Brother-in-law, you should be careful, try not to go if possible, also if their actions are extreme, don’t get involved.

Even if they truly are treacherous and wicked, don’t be too impulsive.

And I heard they’ve been confiscating properties, you should know what to do.”

”Yeah, I know, I think so too, it’s indeed absurd.”

”Don’t talk nonsense, just know yourself and that’s it.”

While having lunch the next day, Jiang Xinyu invited Song Qingqing and Pan Xiulan to her home to give them peach preserves.

”Thanks so much, Xinyu, you’re truly skilled, can do everything.”

”Just for the kids to eat.”

After coming back from lunch, dialed Secretary Lv’s number.

”Hello, it’s me, Jiang Xinyu.”

”I recognized your voice. You’re done with your work?”

”Not yet, there’s quite a workload, by the way, really sorry, just remembered yesterday that you were looking for me, what’s up?”

”No problem.”

”Oh, it gave me a scare, I was worried about delaying a matter.

By the way, after you finish work today, come to my home, I made some bread yesterday morning, take some for the kids, let them try, just not many, when it gets colder, I’ll make more, can’t make too many now, it’s so hot, can’t sleep.”

”Sure.”

After Jiang Xinyu hung up the phone, she immediately went to the back to rest.

Still accounts reconciliation in the afternoon, should be able to finish by Friday, then can have Qian Jun sign it.

Real effort, feeling dizzy, but getting more familiar with the abacus.

Returning home in the afternoon, prepared three pieces of bread, mainly family has only three left, need them for breakfast the next morning too.

Lv Beiguang returned late, the distillery is far.

”Guodong, is Jing Chu doing okay in school? Have some peaches.”

”Not bad, they all know to study hard, with you as an example, the two of them don’t need to be managed.”

”Haha, do I have such capabilities?”

”Yes, Jing Chu says she must learn from you, plans to go to college in the future.”

”That’s the best. Oh, and also the peach preserve we made last night, take a few bottles back, keep them in a cool place, if the syrup clouds up within ten days, eat it quickly, if no change, can keep till the new year.”

”Haha, sure, by the way, do you have enough jars? We’re ordering wine bottles, if you need, I can order some?”

”That would be great, I’m worried about it. Order two hundred for me, ask them to help buy five hundred jar lids.”

”No problem, we have long-term collaboration, they’ll send them together.”

”Give me the cost, and I’ll pay you.”

”Just pay them directly.”

Shang Zhenkun brought back the two kids, Shi Jing and Feifei greeted Lv Beiguang politely.

Looking at the two kids, he genuinely likes both of them.

”You can come to my place to play over the weekend, there are big brothers and sisters at home, they can look after you.”
