Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Meanwhile, Elder Yun felt his mouth go dry. Indeed, King Lu was as domineering as ever. Regardless of his personality, they would offer him their full support. The Vatican’s trespassing had already crossed their bottom line, and they had to be eliminated.

With Lu Yuan present, there would be no problems at all. They were more worried about their foes using thermonuclear weapons.

However, the possibility of them deploying such devastating weapons was low. Thermonuclear weapons were a form of deterrence, after all, and Huaxia had such weapons, too.

In other words, those weapons wouldn’t be deployed unless the Celestial Archangel and his cohorts were to throw all caution to the wind and drop all pretenses...

The three fell silent as they climbed their way toward the Jade Emperor Peak.

According to the Spirit Monkey, they were to gather and talk there.

Mount Tai was massive and magnificent. Ordinary people could no longer reach its summit, but for Lu Yuan, it posed no challenge. Elder Ji and Elder Yun had both reached the Unfettered Realm, so they encountered no difficulties either.

When night finally descended, the three reached the Jade Emperor Peak.

Apart from Lu Yuan, the two elders were ascending Mount Tai’s summit for the first time since the New Era began. Upon seeing the palace ruins, lights of astonishment glimmered in their eyes. They had seen them during the live broadcast, but witnessing them firsthand was an entirely different experience.

”How punctual. Not bad at all.” A voice rang out. The Spirit Monkey appeared, wielding its iron cudgel. Scratching its ear, it stared at Lu Yuan and sized him up before finally exclaiming, ”You’ve grown stronger again?!”

Its bloodline was extraordinary, and its eyes were profound. Though incomparable to the Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes, it still perceived that Lu Yuan’s aura had grown even stronger than a month ago.

”Mmhm, I got a bit stronger.” Lu Yuan nodded, and then he said, ”These are Elder Ji and Elder Yun; they’re with me.”

Since the issue was about beast tides, the top echelons of Huaxia had to be present. The two leaned forward slightly toward the monkey.

”Monkey King.”

The Monkey King was the king of Mount Tai. They weren’t Lu Yuan, so they dared not show any disrespect.

”Alright, alright, I’ll take you over there.” The Spirit Monkey had no interest in pleasantries, clearly still dwelling on the fact that Lu Yuan had become even stronger. With its head lowered dejectedly, it guided them toward their destination.

No matter how intelligent it had become, the Spirit Monkey remained a beast—it couldn’t observe propriety like humans. Moreover, Elder Ji and Elder Yun meant nothing to it.

If not for Lu Yuan, the Spirit Monkey wouldn’t even pay any attention to them.

However, this wasn’t out of arrogance; they simply belonged to two different species. In other words, strength was their means of communication!

Soon, Lu Yuan and the others arrived at a vast clearing on Jade Emperor Peak.

The bright moon had already risen, and the stars dotting the night sky seemed even brighter than during the old era.

Massive shadows were crouched nearby. Some sported wings, others appeared serpentine, while one of the shadows even had nine tails. The most intimidating one stood on two legs yet sported massive bull horns.

Their shadows stretched at length beneath the moonlight.

To make matters worse, the shadows emanated unbridled and terrifying auras. The gathering of such auras seemed to have created a tempest of auras that would surely instill fear in the heart of any ordinary Awakened.

Eventually, the three were finally close enough to see those shadows.

Lu Yuan remained composed, but Elder Ji and Elder Yun grew alarmed.

”The Peacock King, The Titanic Jiao[1] King, and the Nine-tailed Fox King...”

The two elders became extremely wary at the sight. It was only natural, as several among these beast kings were even recorded in the top-secret files of the officials.

When the Global Awakening had just started, they already displayed terrifying strength, occupying many famed mountains and great rivers. The subsequent research of the officials revealed that each of these mutated beasts possessed extraordinarily powerful bloodlines with limitless potential.

The two elders saw that they had all reached the Golden Body Realm, and there were ten of them.

”Oh? You recognize them? Excellent, saves me the trouble of introductions.” The Spirit Monkey turned its head toward the group of beast kings, saying, ”Alright, I’ve brought the humans. How you negotiate and whether you can reach an agreement or not... that’s all up to you.”

With that, it ignored both parties and produced a peach from somewhere before squatting on the side to eat its snack.

The Spirit Monkey had told Lu Yuan that it would gather the beast kings, and it hadn’t said anything about doing more than that. Having accomplished its task, it decided to sit on the side and observe the fun.

The ten beast kings all turned their gazes toward Lu Yuan, and their eyes glimmered with hostility.

”So you’re the human the Spirit Monkey mentioned, the one who declared that we must not launch any more beast tides?” said a black bull. It stood close to ten meters tall on two legs. The massive bull horns atop its head seemed to harbor terrifying power, as it was shrouded in black light.

Behind it, a silver titanic jiao approached. A dragon horn was already sprouting from its head, and its aura was magnificent to behold.

A peacock stood nearby; resplendent lights flowed across its entire form, and its eyes glimmered sharply.

A snow-white nine-tailed fox was also present. Though not in human form, it remained enchanting enough to bewitch just about anyone.

Lu Yuan remained silent.

Elder Ji immediately walked up to Lu Yuan and introduced the beast kings to him in a whisper. As a member of the top echelons, he had a ton of information about these beast kings, but unfortunately, much of it was considered top secret.

He revealed to Lu Yuan that the black bull hailed from the Huoyan Mountains, while the silver jiao hailed from the Changbai Mountains.

As for the nine-tailed fox, it hailed from Mount Taibai.

There were ten beast kings total, all at the Golden Body Realm, and each of them was no weaker than the Spirit Monkey. The strongest among them was the Peacock King; its identity remained mysterious, but it was extraordinarily strong.

All had come from a famed mountain and were kings of their domain.

This explained why Elder Ji and Elder Yun had shown such concern upon seeing them. If these beings were to cause trouble, the nation would descend into chaos. A catastrophe would be unavoidable.

”I see.” Lu Yuan nodded. Then, he stepped forward, looking as calm as ever as he said, ”I’m the one who gathered you all today. I’m not going to beat around the bush, as I believe the Spirit Monkey has already conveyed my message. From today onward, no more beast tides shall occur within Huaxia. Humans are humans, beasts are beasts. Where humans dwell, beasts shall not appear!”

Lu Yuan’s eyes glimmered in a sharp light. ”All right, I’ve said my piece. Any objections?”
