Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 107. Great Boon, Shennong’s Altar, Blood of the Human Sovereign! (2)

Could it work? Lu Yuan had no idea, but he decided to try his luck and took out the small cauldron, placing it before him. His eyes filled with anticipation. There was no other way, anyway.

If this doesn’t work, I can just leave and return later.

Without another word, Lu Yuan used his Great Luo Sword Embryo to slice open his palm. Just as he had done in the Mausoleum at Mount Li, he let his blood drip onto the bronze cauldron. The cauldron emanated a faint light.

As more of his blood poured in, the light grew brighter.

Rumble!

The platform trembled, and the stone pillars with reliefs of zodiac animals exploded with streams of crimson rays of light, all of which converged on the platform’s center.

”It worked!” Lu Yuan’s eyes lit up with delight. He truly hadn’t expected that the small, green bronze cauldron would be useful here.

What exactly was the origin of this thing? Not only was it one of the keys to the Mausoleum at Mount Li, but it was also useful in Shennongjia. This was completely beyond his expectations.

Of course, now was not the time to think about such things. He needed to focus on the sacrificial ritual.

Lu Yuan emptied his mind and continued to pour his blood into the small cauldron. As time went on, more and more crimson lights manifested.

More importantly, the platform itself cracked open.

Crack!

Moments later, the platform transformed. A stone stele rose from it, and the crimson rays of light converged behind it, transforming into a pool of blood.

An altar appeared amidst the pool of blood—a nine-colored altar that looked completely bizarre.

A powerful aura surged forth in that instant, and layer upon layer of crimson light completely enveloped the entire area. A blood pool and a nine-colored altar.

The two things placed together seemed extremely enigmatic. Lu Yuan didn’t understand what it meant, as this was his first time seeing such a sight.

He glanced over at the Golden-Winged Great Peng and saw that it was busy refining the dragon blood. Knowing that the great peng had reached a critical juncture, he said nothing and turned to the altar Shennong had left behind.

He realized that the sacrificial ritual just now had completely opened this place, which meant that the formation had temporarily lost its effect.

Lu Yuan put away the cauldron and stepped forward. Just as he suspected, the formation no longer impeded him. He walked forward, coming to a stop before the stone stele.

The stone stele itself looked nothing special. However, the characters carved on it immediately attracted Lu Yuan’s attention. He had never seen this script before. It was neither the large nor the small seal script, and it wasn’t the oracle bone script, either.

Strangely enough, he could read the characters, even though they weren’t familiar to him.

”I, Shennong, have tasted hundreds of herbs and founded the basics of agriculture, yet in the end, I could not comprehend the Heavenly Principles before the Great Calamity.

”Hence, I condensed my entire essence into a single drop of blood, casting it into this pool. Let it await a fated heir of humanity, who shall assimilate this blood and inherit my will. Though I fall, it shall be enough.”

The paragraph contained not much information, but it convinced Lu Yuan that this was definitely left behind by Shennong. He looked at the blood pool and noticed that it carried an ancient aura. In fact, the blood pool was resonating with the blood within him, making the feeling particularly more pronounced.

”So this blood pool contains a drop of Shennong’s blood essence? And it’s for an heir of humanity?” Lu Yuan murmured. No wonder he felt that this place had to contain a great boon.

Shennong was an ancestor of Huaxia, one of the ancient Three Sovereigns. It could be said that every Huaxian was his descendant. After all, Huaxians considered themselves descendants of Emperor Yan and Emperor Huang, and Emperor Yan referred to Shennong.

Lu Yuan realized it just then. This was the great boon that Shennong had left behind for future generations. If he could assimilate it, what would happen? He couldn’t say for sure, but one thing was certain. It would make him evolve once more. Shennong was a legendary existence, after all.

Lu Yuan had always believed that humanity prospered during ancient times. At the time, humanity was exceedingly powerful, and it was thanks to the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. They led humanity to greatness, eventually standing as equals with the legendary divinities.

Eventually, they declined into mediocrity, and no one knew for sure what exactly had caused that decline.

Today, Lu Yuan came face-to-face with Shennong’s blood essence.

”Let’s see what’s going to happen, then.”

Lu Yuan had never been indecisive. Moreover, Shennong wouldn’t possibly harm his descendants. Hence, he took a deep breath and placed his palm on the surface of the blood pool.

BOOM!

A wave of boundless power struck him, surging throughout him in an instant. The incomparably pure power contained a magnificent might that forcefully opened all of Lu Yuan’s pores, making him feel as if he were being baptized.

A great boon! This is definitely a great boon. Lu Yuan immediately sat cross-legged, sinking into the pool.

Rumble!

The stone stele crumbled to powder, and the blood pool erupted with thousands of crimson rays of light. The lights held no danger. Instead, they poured into Lu Yuan, and his blood churned, boiling violently within him. His heart also beat violently against his chest, and his organs emanated a faint sheen.

This wasn’t a mere evolution; it was a qualitative change—a sublimation of his entire being caused by his bloodline. It was not a mere awakening as well. Instead, he was using his fleshly body as the basis of his divinity!

Lu Yuan was completely engrossed in the process of assimilating the Human Sovereign’s blood essence.

”I’m finally done refining that dragon blood. Now, I have to refine my bloodline. Once I’m done, my Great Peng bloodline will be unleashed, and I will evolve once again. I’m going to shatter those shackles!” The Golden-Winged Great Peng opened its eyes, and golden light bloomed from within.

Its bloodline had always been its greatest source of pride—the very thing that set it apart from other mutated beasts.

”Eh, where did Master go?”

The Golden-Winged Great Peng looked around and eventually found Lu Yuan sitting cross-legged within the blood pool on the distant platform.

From his body, a formidable aura rushed out endlessly, pervading the surroundings. It was a magnificent and grand aura originating from his bloodline.

The Golden-Winged Great Peng was shocked, as it could feel an enormous pressure before it.

It had to be known that the Golden-Winged Great Peng was on the same level as true dragons. Despite that, it was actually being suppressed by a human’s bloodline. This was just unbelievable.

”Master is... making use of a great being’s blood essence to purify himself and go through some kind of bloodline transformation?” A fresh wave of shock washed over the Golden-Winged Great Peng upon realizing what was going on.

It couldn’t possibly begin to imagine whose blood essence was within that blood pool, but one thing was certain. Once the bloodline transformation was complete, Lu Yuan would evolve and reap profits that would last for a lifetime!

”I thought I’d finally catch up to him by purifying my bloodline. Now, it seems I was too presumptuous.” The Golden-Winged Great Peng felt somewhat depressed, but it quickly came to terms with the reality.

Lu Yuan profiting from a great boon meant that the Golden-Winged Great Peng would profit as well. After all, it was Lu Yuan’s mount. With that in mind, it closed its eyes and began to make use of the refined dragon blood.

As for the possibility of any disturbance, the Golden-Winged Great Peng wasn’t worried at all. No mutated beast would dare to rashly approach this place, especially when such a formidable aura could be felt from here.

Just like that, both master and mount focused wholly on their evolution.
