Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Lu Yuan’s voice was not loud, yet each word struck like tempered steel.

As his voice fell, ring after ring of visible golden qi rippled outward from his body. In that instant, his entire aura changed.

He stood alone, facing the combined might of Skygod Technologies, Longevity Genetics, and the Vatican’s Eleven Apostles. Yet his expression remained calm. Every word he spoke carried an unshakable steadiness and displayed not a hint of fear.

”You are arrogant,” came the cold laughter from across the field. Wade’s voice was laced with fury and scorn. ”We have already woven a death net around you. You have courage, I’ll grant you that. But it seems you still have no understanding of your place.”

At his signal, the ten Apostles behind him ignited in sacred white brilliance. Under the radiance, the power that emanated from them seemed to exceed that of an Awakened Realm expert.

Each held a cross-shaped holy artifact in their hand. Rumors had it that those were left behind by God Himself, and were capable of amplifying their strength to terrifying heights.

Not far away, the five elders of Longevity Genetics looked formidable; they didn’t seem to be just any ordinary Awakened Realm expert.

Also part of the encirclement were the people from Skygod Technologies, their mechanical plates glinting under the bright sunlight. Liu Changyuan stood at their head with a cold expression.

Indeed, to most, this was a well-woven trap from which there could be no escape.

”Even Longevity Genetics has joined forces with them...”

”Awakened Realm... almost all of them had reached the Awakened Realm. Is this the true might of these two great powers and the Vatican Church?”

”Can Lu Yuan possibly stand against them? He’s strong, but this doesn’t seem hopeful.”

The voices of the onlookers wavered; their hope was giving way to unease.

They were shocked, even awed, by Lu Yuan’s arrival. After all, he certainly knew it was a trap, but he came anyway and without any hesitation.

However, this alliance of three great powers screamed dread. Their combined presence was enough to ignite a small-scale war.

How could one man fight against that?

Even if Winged Celestial God and Northern Emperor joined hands, they might not be able to break through such a siege.

That was why, despite the crowd’s outrage toward Skygod Technologies’ ruthlessness, no one dared to act rashly.

”We must be ready to intervene at any time,” Dean Zheng said. ”Whether it’s Asura or Lu Yuan, we must protect both of them.”

He admired Lu Yuan’s courage, but courage did not equate to strength.

He exchanged a solemn glance with Dean Liu. Both were prepared to issue orders at the first sign of chaos.

Besides, today’s objective was clear. They were to suppress Skygod Technologies and Longevity Genetics completely, to remind them that they were not beyond the reach of the official authorities.

Lu Yuan’s arrival, while dramatic, was not outside their predictions. It would not derail the plan.

Sure, it was a tricky situation to deal with a three-way alliance. On top of that, Lu Yuan, standing at the heart of the storm, made the situation far more precarious. They, too, were afraid that unexpected issues might arise. After all, Lu Yuan was one of those whom the higher authorities had explicitly marked for protection.

Ji Yuzhen knew it as well. She pulled out her phone. Once the battle erupted, she would order her forces to move immediately.

Because right now, no one present truly believed Lu Yuan could resolve this alone.

”They’re making their move!” A shout tore through the air.

Everyone’s attention snapped to the front. The five elders of the Longevity Genetics couldn’t hold back any longer and took a step forward.

Power surged from their bodies in crashing waves. Each was wreathed in blinding light, qi flaring like the sun.

They were practitioners of Huaxia’s ancient martial arts. Now that they had stepped into the Awakened Realm, they would only be even stronger and were the trump cards of the Wang Family.

”Lu Yuan! You killed two heirs of Longevity Genetics. You are not escaping this place today!”

”Pay with your life! Let your blood serve as an offering for theirs!”

”Die!”

The five elders moved as one. In the blink of an eye, they crossed dozens of meters.

At the same moment, Liu Changyuan gave his command for his subordinates to move.

He knew well how strong Lu Yuan was. As one of the top five Awakened of Huaxia, killing him would not be easy.

And Skygod Technologies had planned too long for this operation. There could be no mistakes.

If they were to strike, they would be swift and without any mercy.

First Apostle Wade understood this as well. Joined by the remaining ten Apostles, they raised their cross-shaped staff high, chanting as sacred radiance flared to life.

In an instant, blinding holy light cascaded down from the heavens. The air itself turned sharp with divine wrath as beams of sanctified destruction converged upon Lu Yuan.

The three great powers had all struck at once.

Every spectator’s heart seized with tension. Some clenched their fists, eyes flickering with conflict.

Should they help him?

After all, Lu Yuan was one of their own. A son of Huaxia.

”Get ready,” Dean Zheng said. He took a step forward, ready to issue further instructions.

”Wait!” Dean Liu’s voice cut through. ”Something’s wrong with Lu Yuan!”

Dean Zheng froze with a confused expression. Suddenly, he felt it.

From afar, a pressure unlike anything before began to rise. It was so dense that it seemed to tremble heaven and earth.

His gaze shot upward in disbelief.

Lu Yuan still stood unmoving amidst the storm of attacks. Yet, the golden aura around him was growing in intensity, and beneath his feet, the earth itself began to crack.

Thump... thump!

Thump... thump!

Thump... thump!

A deep sound echoed again and again. It was the rhythm of a heartbeat that was pulsing from within Lu Yuan’s body.

The next moment, his eyes blazed with golden light. Without warning, he took a single step forward.

Golden qi erupted like a surging tide and crashed outward.

Boom!

The beams of white light unleashed by the Eleven Apostles shattered in an instant, completely dispersed before they could even reach him.

Each step Lu Yuan took made the ground tremble, pebbles dancing at his feet.

In that moment, he no longer seemed mortal. He looked like a deity who had descended on Earth.

In a flash, his form blurred into golden brilliance and reappeared before the five elders of Longevity Genetics. Clenching his right hand into a fist, he swung it toward them.

A blinding light burst forth. The pressure of that strike crushed the hearts of all who watched, pinning their spirits beneath its weight.

The five elders stared in horror, every hair on their bodies standing on end.

Before that fist, it felt as though they stood before a god of slaughter. Their souls quaked. They could not even summon an ounce of their strength.

How could he be this strong?

Where did this power come from?!

Those were their final thoughts.

Boom!

The blow landed.

In an instant, all five elders exploded into mist and blood, their bodies obliterated before they could even raise a defense. Blood rained down like a crimson storm, splattering across the earth in gruesome arcs.

One strike was all it took.

The crowd froze, speechless, their faces drained of color.

Lu Yuan stood amid the carnage, drenched in the blood-mist; his gaze now shifted toward the Eleven Apostles.

The powerful pressure rolling off him only grew heavier, darker, and more suffocating than before.

”One strike and all five elders are dead? What—what’s happening?!” someone gasped.

”It must be the Unfettered Realm! He has broken through to the Unfettered Realm!”

”So fast? That’s impossible!”

Cries of disbelief rippled through the onlookers.

The five elders were pillars of the Wang Family, and even dabbled in ancient Huaxia martial arts. They were considered experts no matter where they went.

Yet, they had been slain in a single blow. They didn’t even get to resist for a single second.

Some among the crowd finally understood that this was the power of the Unfettered Realm.

No other explanation could make sense. How else could one man obliterate five family elders in the blink of an eye?
