Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 110. Fuxi’s Bagua Diagram, the First Collision Between the East and the West? (1)

Unlike the others, Ice Fairy knew the truth. She deduced that Skygod Technologies had decided to use Asura as bait to draw out Lu Yuan and deal with him for good.

As a smart woman, she had immediately deduced the reason behind Skygod Technologies’ move. What she hadn’t expected was that Skygod Technologies would actually abandon Asura for those Westerners.

Clearly, they were more than just collaborators. Otherwise, they could never have done something like this.

Looking at the comments online, the Awakened of the nation were greatly disturbed by the revelation. However, Skygod Technologies remained silent, offering no response whatsoever.

Finally, Ice Fairy sought out the highest higher-up of Polaris Biotech—the organization’s true owner, and she happened to be Ice Fairy’s aunt.

Ice Fairy’s identity wasn’t simple; she had strong connections to certain powerful officials, and her position was extremely stable, unlike Asura, who was a mere puppet.

”So those zealots were the ones who caused trouble first?” the true owner of Polaris Biotech asked. She was a woman in her forties named Ji Yuzhen. She had delicate skin and an elegant demeanor. Of course, she was a formidable Awakened as well.

”That’s right, Aunt. When we went to Shennongjia to carry out our mission, those people took everything from us by trickery and force, which is why our harvest was so bad,” Ice Fairy explained, and then she recounted everything that had happened on that day.

Skygod Technologies had only stated that Lu Yuan murdered people and had conveniently left out the reason behind it. The netizens were unaware of the truth, and Ice Fairy believed that it needed to be revealed.

Even a hint had to be sent out there so they could put some pressure on Skygod Technologies.

”Rourou, let’s do it,” Ji Yuzhen said. Then, she pondered for a moment before continuing, ”Some things must be made known to the public. This will also serve as a final warning to Skygod Technologies.”

As she spoke, an air of authority emanated from her. Clearly, she was someone accustomed to her authority and power.

Ice Fairy froze, noticing the crucial point. ”A final warning? Aunt, what do you mean by that?”

”Skygod Technologies has crossed the line,” Ji Yuzhen explained. ”The higher-ups are very dissatisfied with them and are already preparing to eliminate them.

”We were just thinking about what excuse we could use to make a move against them, and now... we have one.”

Both Polaris Biotech and the Aurora Academy had long set their sights on Skygod Technologies, but they hadn’t been able to do anything drastic.

After all, Skygod Technologies was still one of the major powers, and dealing with it would be troublesome, perhaps even damaging.

However, Skygod Technologies’ actions had just angered both the public and the Awakened. Ice Fairy revealing the truth would be like adding fuel to an already raging fire.

”I see, I understand.” Ice Fairy nodded. Indeed, they needed to be dealt with.

”By the way,” Ji Yuzhen suddenly asked, ”do you think that Lu Yuan will appear?”

The trap set by Skygod Technologies was obviously aimed at Lu Yuan; Asura was already under their control and could be eliminated at any time.

Ji Yuzhen was curious whether that particular member of the Five Supremes would have the courage to show up. After all, he would be facing not just Skygod Technologies, but the Vatican’s Apostles as well.

Combined, they were a formidable force.

”I think he’ll show up,” Ice Fairy said after a moment of thought. Her interactions with Lu Yuan told her his character. He was the type of person who would not tolerate even the slightest threat to their life.

Once provoked, he would attack and destroy those daring enough to threaten him. Ice Fairy had known him to be that kind of person, which was why she gave such a definitive answer.

In fact, she had obtained Lu Yuan’s contact information back at Ancient Mount Shu. When Skygod Technologies made their move, she immediately tried to contact him, but she couldn’t reach him at all.

Ice Fairy became certain then that he had yet to leave Shennongjia, where there was no reception. However, she was certain that Lu Yuan would certainly appear as soon as he discovered what was going on.

”Oh?” Ji Yuzhen smiled and said, ”In that case, things will be interesting then. However, Lu Yuan cannot come to harm. The higher-ups value him highly. If he really decides to appear, we must help him at a crucial moment.”

Ice Fairy nodded without saying anything. She knew that both Polaris Biotech and the Aurora Academy held the same attitude toward Lu Yuan.

Lu Yuan had emerged from nowhere, attracting attention from all sides. Though his methods were forceful, his actions aligned perfectly with the interests of both major forces, as both the Wuzhou Group and Longevity Genetics truly needed to be suppressed.

She even knew that the higher-ups had been hoping for someone exactly like Lu Yuan—someone to break the balance and stagnation of the nation.

The two did not chat for much longer, as Ice Fairy left to publish a statement. She stated that she had been present at Shennongjia and revealed that the foreigners had provoked them first, seizing their harvests by force.

She also revealed that they had made the first move against Lu Yuan. Lu Yuan tried to mediate, but the foreigners refused to listen to him. Having been provoked, Lu Yuan was forced to make a move, resulting in the tragedy.

The news immediately attracted widespread attention, causing another heated discussion online.

”What? So that’s what happened?! Those foreigners are too despicable!”

”How dare they be so arrogant when they’re just mere visitors!”

”They deserve to die! I would do the same if I were there.”

”Skygod Technologies must explain this! Do they not know that those who kill must be prepared to die?!”

Ice Fairy was one of the Five Supremes, and she had a great reputation, to boot. Her words were naturally seen as trustworthy. With that, the people directed their criticism at Skygod Technologies, demanding that they provide an explanation.

In fact, a crowd had already gathered before the Skygod Tower in Hu City.

The higher-ups of Skygod Technologies, however, remained silent, releasing only a cold statement that the so-called ”judgement” in one month would continue as planned and no one could stop it.

Their domineering stance only made the public angrier, but their words had little real effect.

Skygod Technologies was just too powerful, rendering public opinion insignificant. Of course, Polaris Biotech and the Aurora Academy were pleased with their reaction, as it was precisely the effect they had hoped for.

As time went on, the event became known to more people as it spread like wildfire across the nation. Naturally, Skygod Technologies’ reputation fell to rock bottom.

However, the public was concerned about whether Lu Yuan would actually appear.

It became obvious to many that this was a trap, which was confirmed when someone managed to capture a photo of all eleven remaining Apostles at Skygod Tower.

Everyone finally discovered the truth. Asura was merely bait. The real target was Lu Yuan.

The involvement of the eleven Apostles elevated this matter far beyond a simple dispute. It was now seen as the first major collision between the East and the West in the new era.

Both sides had been quietly adapting to their newfound powers, but now that they had achieved some mastery over their powers, the fragile peace was finally starting to shatter.

Both Lu Yuan and the Apostles were Awakened at the very forefront of this era. If they met, a fight was inevitable. With that in mind, the public all had one common question in their heads.

Would Lu Yuan of the Five Supremes actually appear?

The public’s opinion was split. Some believed he wouldn’t appear, arguing that the combined force of Skygod Technologies and those eleven Apostles was just too much for a lone man to handle. After all, their combined force was strong enough to deal with perhaps mutated beast kings as if they were mere toddlers.

Showing up was tantamount to suicide.

Others, however, had different thoughts. Lu Yuan’s strength was impossible to fathom, and he had to have made some progress at this point, perhaps becoming an Unfettered Realm expert.

Thanks to the boon he had obtained from Ancient Mount Shu, he was definitely one of the strongest Awakened at the moment.

The public believed that the so-called King of Humanity was the only one stronger than Lu Yuan. It made sense. After all, the King of Humanity had singlehandedly resisted a mutated beast tide and killed multiple mutated beast kings.

In summary, everyone had different opinions, but they were all eagerly waiting for that day.

Meanwhile, the Aurora Academy and Polaris Biotech made some moves behind the scenes. They were also curious about whether Lu Yuan would actually appear, but they weren’t exactly worried about it.

Regardless of his choice, they would have to make a move against Skygod Technologies as a deterrent against the other major forces, anyway.

Just like that, the situation became even more delicate.
