Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Everyone knew by now that Lu Yuan had entered the Unfettered Realm. His strength was beyond comprehension. And after those words he had spoken before leaving Hu City, the Wang family must have felt the shadow of death pressing close.

Cornered, they had lost all reason and decided instead to drag the world down with them by using the threat of the sea beasts to force hesitation from both the authorities and Lu Yuan himself, hoping to preserve what remained of their legacy.

Ji Yuzhen’s implication in her words were clear. She wanted Ice Fairy to warn Lu Yuan to await orders from the upper command, and plan their next step accordingly.

Ice Fairy understood her aunt’s meaning instantly. She didn’t hesitate. Pulling out her phone, she dialed Lu Yuan’s number.

Meanwhile, high above the clouds, Lu Yuan sat cross-legged upon the back of the Golden-Winged Great Peng, the wind howling past him as he sped toward Shen City.

The call came through. He listened in silence.

”Provoking the mutated sea beasts... to incite a beast tide?” His eyes narrowed slightly and his expression turned unreadable.

Indeed, Longevity Genetics’s act of madness was beyond expectation. They actually chose to gamble with millions of innocent lives to buy themselves time.

Such malice was beyond forgiveness!

The deeper the madness of the Wang Family, the heavier Lu Yuan’s killing intent grew.

The Wang Family could not be allowed to live.

”Mr. Lu, in any case, once you arrive in Shen City, please wait for further instructions. We’ve already alerted the higher command. Troops will be mobilized soon. The number of mutated sea beasts out there is massive and far beyond what we saw in Chang’an. If they attack, it’ll be catastrophic.”

Neither she nor Ji Yuzhen yet knew that Lu Yuan was the same man who had once stood alone beyond the walls of Chang’an. They only knew he was strong and had stepped into the Unfettered Realm.

Thus, their plea was for Lu Yuan to wait as the fate of an entire city was at stake. With millions of lives within Shen City’s borders, even the highest authorities dared not act lightly.

Compared to that, Longevity Genetics was but a trivial concern. What mattered now was getting the Wang Family to drop the idea, or at least not provoke them further before they ignite the sea beast tide.

”Thank you for the warning,” Lu Yuan replied quietly. ”I have my own plans.”

Then he ended the call.

The sea beasts numbered many and were even stronger than their counterparts that walked the land.

But so what?

Longevity Genetics would fall. Nothing could stop that. As for the aftermath it might bring, Lu Yuan was fully aware.

However, he did not care because he had the strength to end it all.

Among the sea beasts, there were those of higher intelligence, entities that measured gain and loss as humans did.

They had not attacked before, not because of mercy, but because they had not yet figured out humanity’s strength.

Once he showed them true, overwhelming strength, they would not dare move, and the calamity would not happen.

The Wang family’s act was madness, a final, desperate clutch for survival.

But would they truly get what they wished for?

”Speed up. Reach Shen City as fast as we can,” Lu Yuan instructed.

His voice was calm but the Golden-Winged Great Peng beneath him could sense the seething fury hidden beneath that composure.

Without a moment’s hesitation, it unleashed a torrent of power, its golden wings slicing through the clouds as it accelerated toward Shen City at full force.

At that very moment, alarms blared across Shen City.

Level One Beast Tide Alert had been activated. The shriek of the sirens echoed through every district, their piercing cry filling the night sky.

All across Shen City, the defense troops moved out in full formation. Armored vehicles thundered down the streets, soldiers poured toward the towering steel walls that guarded the coasts, while others fanned out through the city to evacuate civilians to the inner shelters.

At Aurora Academy, faculty and students alike were mobilized to assist in the evacuation effort. No one could predict when the beast tide would strike, but when it did, every ounce of manpower would matter.

The citizens didn’t know exactly what was happening, but months of preparation for a potential beast tide had taught them what to do. Evacuation proceeded swiftly and in order; it was nothing like the chaos that had once consumed Qingyang City.

As soon as he received the news, Commander Zhang of the defense troops had immediately ordered the Longevity Genetics headquarters to be sealed off and demanded an audience with Wang Zhenyun himself.

The situation had come too suddenly. There wasn’t enough time to prepare a full military response. The best they could do now was to calm the man and buy time.

But Wang Zhenyun refused to meet. It was clear that the Wang Family’s resolve was set in stone.

Moments later, the internet erupted as a live broadcast had appeared across every major platform.

The feed showed Wang Zhenyun of Longevity Genetics. Beside him were his two wives and the surviving Wang family executives.

The message was simple. The Wang Family had already deployed personnel to the outer sea near Shen City. There, they had armed and positioned multiple missiles. if Longevity Genetics were destroyed—or if he himself were killed—those missiles would launch automatically, detonating within the sea and provoking a beast tide into attacking Shen City.

At the same time, he also revealed the data their instruments had gathered. Over one hundred thousand mutated sea beasts had gathered outside Shen City, and there were multiple beast kings among them.

If that tide broke through, Shen City would drown beneath a flood of monsters.

The moment the live broadcast went public, the entire internet erupted like a tidal wave.

After the battle in Hu City, everyone knew that the Wang family was doomed. Lu Yuan’s words had made that much clear. Countless people had been watching the situation unfold, waiting to see what fate would befall Longevity Genetics.

But no one had expected that the Wang Family would go so far as to wager the lives of every citizen in Shen City just to preserve themselves.

The public outcry was immediate. Social platforms flooded with condemnation. Comments cursed the Wang family’s insanity, calling them monsters who had lost all trace of humanity.

After all, they were gambling with millions of lives, turning them into bargaining chips for one family’s survival.

A few voices tried to be rational and argued that now was not the time to provoke the Wangs further. If they were pushed too hard, Shen City would be annihilated, and no one could bear that cost.

Still, it was clear to all that Longevity Genetics had crossed a line of no return. They had turned their backs on the world, and they no longer cared. They had only one demand left: Make Lu Yuan stop.

When the broadcast was released, Dean Zheng, Dean Liu, and the others saw it at once. The higher command issued orders immediately; military units were mobilized from all across the country.

If the sea beast tide truly broke free, there would be no surviving it.

Some officials even suggested deploying nuclear weapons to contain the swarm but the proposal was rejected. The devastation would be too great.

The only option left was to stabilize the Wang Family for now. And yet there was only one person in the world who could make that possible at this point in time.

And that man was Lu Yuan. All attention was on him and the choice he would make.

Now, the whole world watched, waiting to see when Lu Yuan would arrive at Shen City. Some even turned on their livestreams and focused their cameras on the skies above the city in order to get the first glimpse of the man.

Just like that, time crept by.

The standoff between the defense troops and Longevity Genetics stretched on. Most of the civilians had already been evacuated to safe zones but ”safe” was a relative word when the sea beast tide threatened to swarm them.

Although they had put every method in place to resist the tide, the threat still existed. The tide of beasts was already gathering beyond the coast; one wrong action could unleash it all.

They could only wait.

And then, days later, the mighty screech of the Golden-Winged Great Peng echoed over the clouds as Lu Yuan descended upon Shen City.

The moment was captured from dozens of angles by livestreams that instantly flooded every platform. Of course, the major powers had received the news as well.

Across the world, people saw Lu Yuan descending from the sky like a war god and landing atop the rooftop of the Longevity Genetics Tower.

In that instant, the world seemed to hold its breath.

Would he erase the Wang family and Longevity Genetics from existence today?
