Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”Rourou, let’s go,” Ji Yuzhen said, her tone sharp with urgency. ”Shen City is about to get chaotic. Longevity Genetics might be wiped out in a single night. We must return at once to maintain order and inform the Shen City Commander to stand by and observe the situation.”

As she spoke, there was both awe and apprehension in her eyes. She harbored no doubt that Lu Yuan could annihilate the Wang Family; his strength was way beyond anything she had imagined.

Of course, as the one who held command over Polaris Biotech, Ji Yuzhen’s concerns extended further than that. If Lu Yuan moved against Longevity Genetics, then within mere hours, an entire empire might fall.

Originally, the higher authorities had intended only to suppress them for now and then move slowly and cautiously, step by step. But now, it seemed such measures were no longer necessary.

All Ji Yuzhen needed to do was return and clean up the aftermath.

As for what came next, those discussions could wait until the situation had stabilized.

Still, she already knew that sooner or later, she would have to meet with Lu Yuan personally, representing the higher official authorities. Too many matters would need to be handled.

But for now, the top priority was to return to Shen City.

”Ah... understood, Aunt,” Ice Fairy replied softly. She was still dazed, her mind overwhelmed by Lu Yuan’s display of overwhelming power. But she understood her aunt’s intent perfectly and hesitated no longer. Together, they turned and departed.

At that moment, among the lingering crowd, a young woman in ancient clothes stood in silence. Her gaze followed the direction in which Lu Yuan had vanished.

After a long pause, she asked, ”Well? Did you sense it too? His aura feels unusual. Familiar. Almost... like a family.”

Beside her, an elderly man nodded. ”Without question. He has obtained the blood essence of our ancestor.”

”In other words,” the girl said, her lips curving into a faint smile, ”the Primordial Dragon Breathing Technique may also lie within him. No wonder...”

Interest flickered like starlight in her eyes.

”How interesting...”

She had only come here to spectate the show for amusement.

But this battle had revealed something far greater.

Now she knew who had seized the two boons they had failed to claim.

”Saintess, what shall we do now? Should we seek him out?” the old man asked.

The Primordial Dragon Breathing Technique and the Jiang Clan’s blood essence were their main objectives but they had failed to claim both items. Yet now they found the one who possesses them. So he felt the need to visit Lu Yuan.

”There’s no need, this is his fate,” the young woman said with a wave of her hand. ”Let it be. We have other things to deal with.”

With that, she clasped her hands behind her back and turned away. She decided to depart and not linger any longer.

She held no deep attachment to those two great fortunes. Since another had claimed them, she would let fate run its course.

The crucial matter at hand now was that the time for the various clans of the Starfields to descend upon this world was drawing ever closer. As the representative of the Jiang Clan, it was time for her to begin the next phase of their plan.

Seeing her calm acceptance, the elder beside her merely shook his head, then followed in silence.

And so, the grand event that had begun as the Vatican Church’s ”Judgment of Asura” came to an end just like that.

Of course, this was far from the end of the storm. Everyone present knew what Lu Yuan intended next. And since there were countless onlookers, news of what had happened spread across the web within minutes.

The headline was simple.

Lu Yuan, one of the Top Five Awakened, single-handedly annihilated three great powers and slayed everyone including the Eleven Apostles.

Accompanying the report were photos and videos taken on-site. They captured everything from the opening strike to the final moment when Lu Yuan stood alone upon the blood-soaked earth.

The entire video was less than ten minutes.

The internet erupted. The incident had already drawn attention before but now, the uproar reached a fever pitch.

Most had expected a prolonged, desperate war. Surely, with the combined forces of the Vatican Church and Skygod Technologies, victory was assured.

Yet who could have foreseen this ending?

The ten-minute recording spread like wildfire. People replayed it again and again. They could not believe their eyes that the battle ended so swiftly and in such a manner.

And then came an even greater, shocking news.

A new post began circulating.

Lu Yuan has gone south to Shen City to annihilate Longevity Genetics.

The revelation sent another wave of chaos rippling through every corner of the web.

Everyone was watching. Waiting. Holding their breath. Those who had friends or family in Shen City were already calling to confirm what was happening.

It was clear to all that the power balance across the nation was about to shift.

And all of it was because of a single man.

Shen City.

Inside Longevity Genetics Tower, two women walked side by side down the gleaming corridor. They were the two wives of the Wang family patriarch, Wang Zhenyun.

”This time, that man Lu Yuan is as good as dead,” the Second Madam said coldly.

Her son, Wang Tao, had been her pride and her life’s greatest hope. His death had hollowed her heart, leaving only hatred in its place.

”With three great powers united against him, even if he possessed godlike abilities, he won’t escape,” the First Madam agreed, her tone just as venomous. The Southern Sovereign was her only son, and so she too longed for Lu Yuan’s death.

Their mutual enmity, bitter and long-standing, was forgotten for the moment. United now by a shared hatred, they strode together toward the patriarch’s office. They wished to confirm the latest developments and to hear from Wang Zhenyun himself that Lu Yuan had gone to Hu City, and that his death was certain.

In their minds, the outcome was already decided. Once Lu Yuan entered the trap laid by three mighty factions, there would be no return.

Soon, they arrived at the office and pushed open the door.

But, they froze at the sight of Wang Zhenyun sitting slumped on the floor. His eyes were hollow, his expression broken.

”What happened? What’s wrong? What happened in Hu City?” The two women’s hearts tightened, unease creeping in. Could something have gone wrong?

”It’s over...” Wang Zhenyun’s voice was a trembling whisper. ”Everything is over. The Wang family... Longevity Genetics... all done for.”

He stared blankly at the phone in his hand, muttering to himself. On the screen was the latest report from Hu City.

The wives snatched the phone from him and their faces went white as snow.

”How could this be?” the First Madam shrieked, her voice cracking. She couldn’t believe what she saw. ”The three great powers... the five elders... the Eleven Apostles... even Skygod Technologies gone? All gone?!”

The Second Madam was trembling uncontrollably. They had been so sure of victory, so certain of Lu Yuan’s death.

Yet the outcome was utterly reversed.

And what chilled them most was the final line.

Lu Yuan has gone south to Shen City to annihilate Longevity Genetics.

The two women understood all too well that the five elders were the very foundation of the Wang Family.

But they were dead. If Lu Yuan came to Shen City, there was no doubt Longevity Genetics could be wiped from the face of the earth.

Every person of the Wang Family would die.

”Zhenyun, think of something. What should we do?”

Panic shredded their voices. The First and Second Madam had lost all composure; indecision and fear clawed at them.

Wang Zhenyun only shook his head, over and over. ”It’s all over... everything is finished. We’re all going to die.”

Longevity Genetics still had reserves but there was no time to utilize them. It was too late.

Regret gnawed at him like a poison.

Why had he provoked Lu Yuan?

Why had he set himself against a god of slaughter?

Once the Wang family’s might had been consolidated, they could have become an overlord powerhouse. Now, they were left with nothing.

Lu Yuan was too terrifyingly strong. The footage made that clear: he had reached the Unfettered Realm. No one at present could stop him. Not Longevity Genetics, not at this moment. Perhaps, with another year or two, things might have been different.

Is this really the end of it?

As helplessness threatened to swallow him, something in Wang Zhenyun’s eyes snapped. The light went cold and vicious, like a blade turning in its sheath.

”No.” Wang Zhenyun rose to his feet. ”We cannot simply sit still and wait for our death. If he wants to annihilate Longevity Genetics and bury my family, I won’t let it be that simple.”

He stared out past Shen City toward the vast, dark sea beyond. Madness and resolve churned in his gaze.

”Even if Longevity Genetics falls, I will drag him down with me. I will drown every soul in Shen City. All of them can accompany us to our graves!”
