Chapter 193 – 144: An Unstoppable Force (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

“Hmm, the head is round, and fit it with multiple metal spikes… a bit like a mace,” Lagaray briefly sketched with her hands.

With that said, Rein quickly understood!

Rein concentrated, lost in thought.

He possessed the secret hammer skill, ‘Earth-splitting Hammer,’ and obviously, using the Morningstar Hammer to perform it wasn’t quite suitable.

By comparison, a spiked hammer with one flat end would be most appropriate.

The spiked end could utilize the secret skill ‘Rising Dragon Hammer’ with its rotational force, strengthening armor penetration!

And the flat end could deploy the secret skill ‘Earth-splitting Hammer,’ further enhancing shock damage!

“Lagaray, let’s go with the spiked warhammer,” Rein decided.

“Alright!”

Just as Lagaray was about to turn and leave again, Rein called out to her.

“Wait!” Rein suddenly thought of something.

He quickly grabbed a charcoal pencil and sketched a few lines on the parchment scroll.

Then, Rein handed the parchment scroll to Lagaray, saying, “Could you make a warhammer like this? It’s also a kind of variation of the spiked warhammer.”

“The head will keep one flat side unchanged, while the spiked side will resemble the Morningstar Hammer, fitted with multiple spikes,” explained Rein.

“It’s not a problem to make it, but…” Lagaray gave Rein a peculiar look and said.

“Don’t you think this design makes the hammer look like a wild boar’s head?”

“The spiked end, with all those spikes, looks just like the bristles on a boar’s head.”

Lagaray seriously doubted Rein’s aesthetic judgment.

Hehe!

It seems his sketching groundwork isn’t bad at all.

Right, this is the classic boar head hammer! Rein thought to himself.

“Hmm, the boar head hammer, quite vivid! The perfect combination of Morningstar Hammer and spiked warhammer, isn’t it?”

“However, I have a better-sounding name in mind, ‘Unyielding Force!’ What do you think?” Rein said with a smile.

“Unyielding Force, you… alright, whatever makes you happy! I’ll go make the mold then.” Lagaray rolled her eyes at Rein, saying helplessly.

At the very least, she couldn’t comprehend Rein’s aesthetics and… his choice of name.

While Lagaray went to craft the clay mold for the warhammer, Rein placed the pieces of Hardened Essence Gold into the blazing blacksmith’s furnace.

But obviously, the furnace that struggled to smelt regular iron ore certainly couldn’t melt chunks of Hardened Essence Gold.

Even if Rein pumped the bellows vigorously, it was of no use.

The method Rein had in mind, of course, wasn’t this.

He focused his attention on the Wizard Apprentice (Transcendent) panel and added a Skill Point to the witchcraft ‘Scorching Touch.’

Although the two remaining Skill Points were originally saved to break through limits to face formidable enemies.

But Rein considered that if he successfully forged the warhammer, his Blacksmith Profession Level would most likely increase.

In that case, the Skill Points remaining after leveling would return to two, and it wouldn’t affect anything.

Of course, the main purpose of adding the point was to verify Rein’s previous conjecture: whether the power of the witchcraft ‘Scorching Touch’ was linked not only to spiritual power but also to its Skill Level?

With the addition of that one Skill Point, Rein’s mind filled with fragmented memories of practicing the witchcraft ‘Scorching Touch.’

It was as if he had been training in ‘Scorching Touch’ day and night for months.

Soon, Rein found that he could omit several syllables from the original spell.

In other words, the chanting speed increased!

Coming back to his senses, Rein refocused on the ‘Scorching Touch’ icon, and saw that the line of text below it had quietly changed.

Scorching Touch lv2 (5/300)

Effect of Scorching Touch lv2: Consumes a certain amount of Spirit, channels the surrounding fire elemental particles with a specific witchcraft model, producing high-temperature damage within a certain range in front of the host’s palm.

(Note: The casting time is 2.4 seconds, power is proportional to the duration and the host’s Spirit, the closer the contact distance, the greater the power. Current effective killing distance: 0~0.5 meters.)

Huh?

Rein sharply noticed the change in the system’s description.

The casting time had been reduced from the original 3 seconds to 2.4 seconds, a nearly 20% decrease, probably due to the compression of spell syllables.

However, what Rein was most concerned about, the power aspect, seemed to have remained unchanged.

This made Rein a bit frustrated.

It seems that the power of witchcraft still depends on Spirit, while proficiency only affects the speed of casting witchcraft.

Upon reflection, Rein found it quite reasonable.

Since the witchcraft model is fixed, how could the power increase with proficiency if the consumed Spirit remains constant?

If it could, then it would lead to a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice, through long-term practice, casting a very powerful witchcraft, which obviously isn’t possible.

Of course, there might be other methods to enhance the power of witchcraft.

But for now, what Rein could do seemed to be limited to increasing Spirit to boost the power of witchcraft.

Indeed, for Wizards or Wizard Apprentices, Spirit is fundamental!

However, the fact that adding points can increase the casting speed of witchcraft is extremely valuable in combat.

What does nearly half a second faster in casting witchcraft mean in actual combat?

It goes without saying!

After some thought, Rein decided to first verify whether the witchcraft ‘Scorching Touch’ could aid in melting the Hardened Essence Gold with the blacksmith’s furnace.
