Chapter 153 – 130: You’re Not Going to Hog It All to Yourself, Are You? (Two in One Mega Chapter)

Meanwhile,

At the dining room of Count Harris’s mansion in Meister County Town,

Several middle-aged men, obviously nobles, were having breakfast together.

One of them, a bearded man dressed in black noble attire with intricate embroidery, was elegantly carving a large piece of rib steak, skillfully manipulating the silver fork and knife in his hands.

Piece after piece of squarely cut steak was stuffed into his mouth.

Compared to Baron Alonso, who was voraciously enjoying his breakfast, the other two opposite him had puzzled expressions on their faces, and their eating gestures had almost halved in speed.

Had Rein been present, he would have recognized these two as Knight Lloyd and swordsmanship instructor Perez from the Habus family manor in Flashgold Town.

Although they too were slowly eating their breakfast, they could not understand why they had received a message so early in the morning from Baron Alonso, the eldest son of Count Habbs, inviting them to share a meal together.

They had but a general personal relationship with Alonso.

Thus, when receiving this message, they were quite taken aback, yet as knights under the Habus family, they naturally did not want to offend the eldest son of the count’s family for no reason.

Initially, they thought that Baron Alonso’s invitation to breakfast must have been for some important discussion.

However, as breakfast was nearly over, this baron had yet to mention any important matters, only inquiring about the recent situation of the Habus manor.

This left them puzzled since there was nothing important to discuss—why had Baron Alonso summoned them so early in the day?

Was he trying to win them over? Could a breakfast truly win over two knights?

That would mean knights were far too cheap.

At that moment, a beautiful maidservant respectfully offered a hot towel.

Alonso wiped his mouth with it and smiled, “Do you knights find the breakfast to your satisfaction?”

“Of course, thank you for your generous hospitality, Baron,” Knight Lloyd nodded and said.

“It’s quite plentiful, thank you, Baron,” Perez added.

Just then, the butler Michel hurriedly approached Alonso and said, “My lord, Lady Baroness Crowley has come to visit; it seems she has quite urgent matters!”

“Hmm? Jennifer?” Alonso had some thoughts about this young and beautiful Baroness, who also had a head for business.

Usually, she avoided him like the plague.

Why would she actively seek him out this time?

This made Alonso somewhat unable to fathom her intentions.

Perhaps the two family knights of the Crowley family had finally pressured her beyond her limits, therefore, she had come to seek aid from him?

If that was the case, it would be good news!

“Baron, since you have a guest, we will head back to Flashgold Town,” Lloyd said, preparing to stand up and take his leave.

“Wait, Knight Lloyd, Instructor Perez, please wait a moment,” Alonso hurriedly called the two of them to stay.

Alonso’s eyes twinkled with mirth. How could he let them return to Flashgold Town now when the Cult of the Black Flame was performing a blood sacrifice there?

“Michel, direct Lady Baroness Crowley to the dining room,” after a moment’s thought, Alonso instructed the butler.

“As you command, Baron,” Michel replied.

Soon, Lady Baroness Crowley, dressed as a noblewoman, entered the dining room. Her stunning beauty, towering figure, and pale skin immediately drew the attention of all three men.

Although all three were nobles, not lacking in women, they couldn’t help but take an extra glance at a beautiful woman.

Especially being Transcendent knights, their physical bodies also led to often exuberant hormones, and their desires exceeded those of ordinary people.

“Oh! Knight Lloyd, what are you doing here?” she exclaimed upon seeing Lloyd, eyes widening in surprise.

Lady Baroness Crowley had seen Lloyd at several noble wine parties before, and she knew he was the person in charge of the Habus family manor in Flashgold Town, trusted greatly by the Earl.

“Hmm?” Confusion clouded Lloyd’s face.

Should I not be here?

Seeing the bewildered look on Knight Lloyd’s face, Lady Baroness Crowley felt a jolt in her heart.

“Don’t you know that Flashgold Town has just been attacked by cultists?” she blurted out.

“What!” Lloyd’s face turned pale, and exchanging a glance with Perez, he quickly realized that Baron Alonso’s early summons wasn’t as simple as having breakfast together.

It seemed the rumors they had heard before were not without basis!

Alonso was taken aback?

What was going on?

A noble lady, accustomed to luxury, was surprisingly well-informed?

However, when he saw the looks that the two knights gave him, his heart sank.

Trouble was now inevitable.

“What? Lady Baroness Crowley, are you sure of your news?” Alonso feigned shock as he stood up.

“Of course, Jenny is currently in Flashgold Town,” the Baroness said with certainty.

“Baron, please pardon our abrupt departure!”

Hearing Lady Baroness Crowley’s confirmation, Lloyd did not wait for Alonso’s response and turned to leave immediately.

This was somewhat impolite behavior among the nobility.

And the way the two knights had just looked at Alonso was obviously not right.

All the subtle expressions were keenly observed by the perceptive Lady Baroness Crowley, who began to contemplate their meaning.
