Chapter 187 – 143: The Trick to Defeating the Enemy (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

Just as Rein was shocked that the attacker was actually a metal doll girl, the eerie doll seemed to immediately spot Rein standing nearby.

“Ga ga ga!”

The metal doll’s wheels on its feet began to spin rapidly, adjusting the direction of its body, directing its pair of swiftly rotating spike wheels straight at Rein.

As Rein’s expression turned stern and he braced himself for battle, suddenly, a sharp whistling noise erupted!

The heavy metal puppet managed to accelerate to a jaw-dropping speed in the blink of an eye, charging at Rein with incredible velocity.

Rein’s internal alarm bells rang loud, and he instinctively performed a sidelong roll to dodge the opponent’s ferocious strike.

“Boom!!”

The large metal puppet charged directly into a civilian house across the street, easily creating a huge hole in the wall of the house opposite Rein’s home.

Screams erupted from within that household!

Rein’s pupils shrank suddenly!

Such a fast sprinting speed?

It was even faster than the acceleration of a supercar from his previous life!

How could the metal doll girl, with her heavy body and such a high drag coefficient, possibly sprint so fast? That’s unscientific!

For the moment, Rein couldn’t figure out how the metal doll girl’s mechanism operated.

But now was not the time for detailed thinking, he’d have to fight first!

“Leap Slash!”

Having activated ‘Limit Break,’ Rein’s figure blurred as he leaped high, aiming for the metal doll girl’s relatively small neck, and brought his sword down heavily.

“Clang!!”

Sparks flew!

The ear-piercing sound of metal clashing rang out, as if striking a large bell.

Whatever metal the metal doll’s outer shell was made of, even the Glimmering Greatsword mixed with star iron cried out in agony, seemingly unable to withstand the intense force of the rebound.

The shockwave almost caused Rein to lose his grip on the sword hilt!

Rein’s expression changed once again.

It was the first time he encountered an enemy that his Glimmering Greatsword, mixed with star iron, could not cut through.

Though he had anticipated that this day would come eventually.

But he didn’t expect it to come so soon, and moreover, that his enemy would not be a conventional biological creature, but rather a metal doll. Explore new worlds at Novgo

Of course, after a short exchange of blows, Rein didn’t come away empty-handed.

After dodging the opponent’s two ultra-fast sprints, Rein noticed that the doll was relatively slower when adjusting its direction.

So, for the time being, Rein could maintain a stalemate, neither winning nor losing.

And this scene was also observed by a Dark Flame Acolyte lurking quietly nearby, who couldn’t help but smile.

“Good swordsmanship? But what use is even the best swordsmanship if it can’t break through the defenses of an iron maiden doll?”

“Once you run out of stamina, it’ll be the end for you,” said the Dark Flame Acolyte, confident in the trap he’d orchestrated.

“It’s a pity about Ashim, Andrews, and those other fools; they only knew how to fight head-on.” Remembering his colleagues who died at Rein’s hand, the Dark Flame Acolyte shook his head slightly, lamenting.

At that moment, the front door to Anna’s house burst open, as Lagaray, with a large shield in hand, dashed out agilely, seemingly intent on coordinating with Rein to take down the metal doll girl.

Clearly, the commotion from the recent battle between Rein and the enemy was too great, awakening Anna and Lagaray.

Realizing trouble, Rein immediately shouted, “Lagaray, get back inside!”

“Whoosh!”

Once the doll spotted Lagaray, it launched itself into a sprint directly at her!

“Thump!”

With just one strike, the metal doll shattered the solid shield in Lagaray’s hands with its swiftly spinning spike wheel, sending her flying four or five meters away.

Fortunately, thanks to the blockage of the oak shield, Lagaray was not seriously injured.

Only then did Lagaray realize just how potent the enemy’s attack power was that Rein was facing.

Rein quickly grabbed Lagaray, pulling her behind him for protection, and out of necessity, he clashed against the metal doll girl’s high-speed spike wheel head-on.

“Zi!!”

Sparks scattered!

Two small notches appeared on Rein’s Glimmering Greatsword, causing him great distress!

However, Rein’s block provided Lagaray with the chance to return to Anna’s house and take cover.

The battlefield was that of an experienced Knight; Lagaray’s abilities as a squire were a bit too weak.

“Clang clang!!”

Rein’s greatsword struck continuously at several potential weak points on the metal doll girl, to no avail.

This forced Rein’s mind to work in overdrive.

The next second, his eyes lit up!

“Maybe I should try this method.”

So, under the puzzled gaze of the Dark Flame Acolyte, Rein suddenly sheathed his greatsword and took out the metal Warhammer from his back.

“Eh! What’s he doing?”

“According to investigation, Rein is also a Blacksmith, but using a hammer against the iron maiden doll? That’s an absolute joke!” the Dark Flame Acolyte looked on with disdain as Rein pulled out the bronze Warhammer.

Anna, who was watching the fight through the window inside the room, looked on in astonishment as Rein took the large hammer from behind.

Isn’t Rein skilled with the greatsword?

Why would he switch to a hammer when facing a formidable opponent?

Anna couldn’t understand it.

Lagaray was even more perplexed, as Rein had only practiced Hammer Skill with her a few days ago.

How much could his proficiency with the hammer have improved in just a few days?

She was well aware of the huge gap between Rein’s swordsmanship and Hammer Skill.
